This movie covers a time in American history when the Great Awakening happened. The Millerite movement came from Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterian, etc. The Seventh Day Adventist became a denomination in 1863.

Young Christians are RIGHT. God absolutely does judge his people. This man is wrong to talk them out of this true belief!

This film is of a real movement by God himself... I challenge anyone to watch this movie with an open mind and let God show you his glory in real time.. the adventists being called a cult is from people who have no idea of the scriptures.. the prophecy that Miller was studying about the 2300 days until the cleansing of the sanctuary is recorded in Daniel for a reason.. applying biblical principles of each day for a year in prophecy and a historic starting point of 457BC we do indeed come to 1844... What was to occur on that date was millers only error... The date was correct but his understanding of the sanctuary being the earth was incorrect . This event is recorded in revelation ... John is handed a little book and told to eat it and that it would be sweet in his mouth but bitter in his stomach.. this is the little book of Daniel and the message was sweet but the experience was disappointing...but John is told that "you must prophecy again" which is to search the scriptures and receive more light ... God will return people to the full truth of his word and remove errors and he does it by his people that diligently seek his face...

This is a movie about Ellen G. White, and William Millers "prophecy" about Jesus return in 1844.

@@natalieamberger2432 the Great Disappointment was when their prediction that Jesus was going to return to the earth in Oct 1844 didn't happen.
After he didn't return to earth, then they came up with the doctrine of Investigative Judgement.
They said that 1844 happened in heaven. They teach that Oct 1844 was the date when Jesus moved from the Holy Place into the Most Holy Place in Heaven, to begin his work in the sanctuary.
When you read Acts, Hebrews and various other NT books, it's evident that Jesus has already entered the Most Holy Place, long before 1844.

On October 22, 1844, the disappointment to those who expected to meet their Lord on that day was great.
Yet this very trial was necessary to develop and strengthen the sincere believers in the truth. In the days immediately following the great disappointment, there began slowly to take shape in the minds of a few of the disappointed ones certain understandings of prophecy, certain explanations of the disappointment, that were to be the doctrinal nucleus of the future Seventh-day Adventist Church.
“ One of the first Millerites to accept the Sabbath was T. M. Preble of New Hampshire. He published his view in February, 1845, in an Adventist paper called The Hope of Israel. * Bates read this article, was persuaded of the Sabbath, and in August, 1846, brought out a forty-eight-page pamphlet entitled The Seventh Day Sabbath, a Perpetual Sign. In his pamphlet he states that the reading of the Preble article “convinced” him of the Sabbath in the spring of 1845, but adds:
“Contrary views did, after a little, shake my position some, but I feel now [August, 1846] that there is no argument nor sophistry that can becloud my mind again this side of the gates of the Holy City.”-Page 40. . EGWC 185.3-EGWC 185.4

      Exactly!
SDA's teach that Christians are "apostate protestants" because we worship on Sundays, and teach that "sunday worship" is the Mark of the beast.
The teaching came from their prophet Ellen White, so not sure why this movie about Ellen White is even being promoted on CBN.

This is the Christian Broadcasting Network. The movie is an interesting one about the roots of the Seventh Day Adventists, who are Christians. So why shouldn't they promote it? Not all Christians follow the Bible strictly. A lot of mainstream Christians and other sects could also accurately be called "unBiblical" and would have been denounced by the early Christians.
