I felt the same way. Absolutely elated until 5-0, then I realized how much it hurt the Brazilian fans. Brazil might have got slaughtered in the match but their fans gained a lot of respect for their sportsmanship.
It's been ten years already. I still remember that chilly Summer night in my hometown of about 50.000 people in southwestern Germany vividly. I was out with a couple of guys and people were dancing on the tables at the sports bar we watched the match at. I got so drunk, one of my friends had to drive when we went into the town center after the match and I was in the narrow back seat of my old 1990s sports coupe I used to drive back then, staring in disbelief as we passed by hundreds, perhaps thousands of people dancing in the streets, while fireworks were being tossed out of apartment windows and cars. We had just beaten the Kings of Football and we had a feeling that in a couple of days we were going to be World Champions. We were young and the world belonged to us that night. It felt great. Seeing the disgusting empty shill our team has become hurts even more when watching this video but nothing can ever tarnish my memories of 2014. Greetings to our Brazilian friends. I hope that some day, when we have a team worthy of Germany again, we shall meet again.
all will be good. We were so good then because almost all of them had seen great chances narrowly pass them by - for the likes of Schweinsteiger and Podolski it was their third and would be the last, no matter the result. Brazil performed badly, because the team were beyond their prime and needed to rebuild. Which they did, as we did. We will become better and better, have smaller and bigger successes, and maybe another world cup is looming on the horizon. For me, this semifinal is the moment I started to hate Bela Rethy. I was next door, having dinner. I thought, I will hear it if something important happens, all matches in this championship had been utterly boring durníng the first quarter of an hour. So I ate and listened to the sounds of the match and commentary, without getting much detail, just noise levels. Only when I returned to the TV after dinner did I find out that and untterly unexcited Bela Rethy made me miss 4 goals. FOUR!
I'm German too and I had a girl over this day to do some football and chill. So watched the game and were so stunned by what happened, there was no way getting in the mood after that 🤣
@@STECKEDDECKlol, completely the opposite here. The game was so great it generated quite some energy even back on our sofa, so my wife and I sorta missed the fourth and fifth goals...
Im an Englishman living in Brazil, I was in a resturant with my wife to watch this game, the place was buzzing people cheering and singing a great vibe. When the first two goals went in the people were still positive "Its ok we will come back" Then goals 3, 4 & 5. The place was empty at half-time
this is the point at which the Brazilians failed, if your team sucks that`s the time when it needs the best fan support a team can get, but that's exactly what the fans in the stadium missed
Wait for Part 2 of this match. It will be necessary more 10 years to show it here. I'm Brazilian and after Brazil has lost to Italy in 1982, I was ready for all kind of situation. The amazing side of the football is it. We never know what can happen.

I bet this Guys never saw the legendary german street interview before the game started. When they asked a german guy what will be the end score? He answered completely relaxed: Thats gonna be a juicy 7-1 for Germany. I believe to this day he was a time travelller....
I jokingly told my friend that Germany will win 8-0 and he shrugged it off. Özil was actually very close to shooting the 8th goal and I cant believe how close my prediction was
The funniest part. The German coach at half-time break literally told his team to stop scoring. Because he didn't want to humilate the Brazilian team anymore infront of there country. They STILL scored two more goals even with him telling them that. If he DIDN'T tell them to stop, this game might have with ended with German scoring at 10-12 goals atleast, possibly even more. The Brazilian defense was that unprepared to handle the German offense.
Did the german coach really say that? Because if so, that's such a strange instruction to give to your own team. "Hey guys let's stop scoring because we don't want the other team to look even worse, even though that would further increase our glory in the world cup." Germany should have scored at least 3 more.

When I opened my eyes, Germany were leading 4-0 at only 25 minutes into the game. I was shocked, but happy that Brazil was not making it to the finals. Everytime I watch this game, I feel so much better.
It's still a tragic event to this day, I was only 13 at the time. Can't describe the disappointment that I felt. @@WoopyG yeah, I'm saying that when Germany scored the 5th goal, I cried. Yeah, bro. Hopely Cuba will classify to World Cup someday. Greetings from Brazil.
Yeah, they agreed during halftime to slow down their attack. They even let them score 1, you can clearly see Boateng didn't even try to takle Oscar, he just let him shoot. If that was Argentina or Italy (2 of Brazil' biggest rivals) they wouldn't have had mercy on them.
@@wilberts.cubero3629 Two things I'd like to point out about your comment: 1 - As a matter of fact, German players were outraged when Brazil scored its goal. Boateng, Neuer and Schweinsteiger went absolutely crazy towards Özil, who spilled a chance at the other end, which resulted in a counterattack that produced Oscar's goal. And it went on for several minutes, let me tell you... 2 - I wouldn't be so sure about Argentina being relentless in such a situation. Lately, our national squad has been playing in such a coward way, I'd bet they would cram together in their own field after scoring the first goal and just defend blindly. To put it more clearly, just check when was the last time that Argentina won a WC match by more than one goal.

We saw the children crying and we felt terribly sorry for them. After the game I gave my shirt to a boy who was crying bitterly, and his father thanked me profusely for it.
After this match, Germany became respected by a lot of brazilians. You guys changed some parts of our football mentality. Some clubs modernized their administration and views on game tactics. Isso é bem relativo na verdade, muito se discutiu de lá pra ca mas no fim das contas parece que nada mudou.

It's mind-blowing how amateurish the defense seemed that day. I think even San Marino's defense would have done a better job.
Did the german coach really say that? Because if so, that's such a strange instruction to give to your own team. "Hey guys let's stop scoring because we don't want the other team to look even worse, even though that would further increase our glory in the world cup."

Can’t wait for the next 2 goals to be uploaded in 2026
(My country just won the World Cup, that’s how you beat European teams brazil 🤣…..im born Argentina but living in Peru currently so that is why I have this profile picture and name)
I made some Brazilian mad in the replies because I speak football and they speak golf, but this is what happens when you talk trash about Argentina in 2019 Copa America 🤫🇦🇷, also I’m only talking to the toxic Brazilians, I respect the nice ones)
😂😂😂😂😂
lmaooooooooo
They rage quited and stopped watching the match.
They probably couldn't take more ig
@@mercuryee Lmfao they're fucking losers
Kroos: *Scoring 3rd one*
Guy in the front: "Well, time to crack open another cold one"
Wouldnt we all do that?
I'm sorry for all the brasilians, but this still puts a smile on my face
HAAHAH same i was so young but i still remember this day
who has 5 world cups
Adriana Bleggi who got scored on 7 times
I'm Brazilian and I was laughing my ass off that day! Because I knew that team wasnt good enough to win that WC. I was expecting us to lose against Chile! And there was a lot of people here shooting fire works as sarcasm in each goal 😂
Adriana Bleggi germany has four the difference isn’t that big you know that right? and at least we never got humiliated in our own home country during football 😙
My favorite guy is the dude with the big hat in the back. Like ever present but ever absent
Imagine being the only German person in that room
Then you'd better not start hailing "goaaal" each time..
In 2006, when Germany played with Argentina, I was the only one who supported Germany in a bar full of Argentinian supporters. At the end, they were too upset and I had to leave the bar.
@@theGunneronfire7 if it was with Eastern European countries you would be dead lol :D

I'm Brazilian, I preferred to take a 7 from Germany than to lose a final against Argentina at home, the 7 is nothing compared to Argentina winning a cup in Maracanã.
7 a 1 foi uma vergonha mundial. A Argentina sendo campeão no Maracanã só seria ruim pra gente devido a rivalidade no continente... Mil vezes a Argentina campeã do que tomarmos de 7!
@@Fabiano_Oliveira pra mim tbm
1 - 0 JAJAJAJ
LOL
Tbm prefiro cara. Argentino é o ser mais insuportável do mundo, eles nunca mais iam calar a boca se tivessem ganho a copa aqui
Me: want the subtitle
RUclips: this brasilian fans talk in korean language
Vergonhoso , difícil saber a nossa linguagem ?
Probably not even koreans know how to speak korean, wtf lol
É difícil mesmo cara ;)
Honored to be your 69th like
@@endraandre dude i am also honored
As a German group in Brazil, we felt more and more uncomfortable the higher the result got. After 4-0 we didn't even celebrate the goals anymore... We saw the children crying and we felt terribly sorry for them. After the game I gave my shirt to a boy who was crying bitterly, and his father thanked me profusely for it.
Don’t feel sorry for one of the worst soccer fanbases in the world.
habe ich nicht so erlebt!😂
france: first time?
poland: you'll get used to it
Underrated comment 😂😂😂
Brazil: so who invented your tactics???
Germarny:Heinz Guderian...
Rommy Cellz Jawoll, blitzkrieg
Brazil: snakes are smoking
Sven Gärtner guderian invented the blitzkrieg tactics
I think your coach was spending a lot of time with his hands in his pants ...
@@Fernanda-mz7zt I think you lost 1-7
I got screwed over by two Brazilians today so I'm happily revisiting this game.
After this match, Germany became respected by a lot of brazilians. You guys changed some parts of our football mentality. Some clubs modernized their administration and views on game tactics. Brazilian people started to realize that you cannot achieve success without hard work and planning.
Football has no mercy for those who dont respect the game.
This was so wholesome to read. Was great to see salty brazilian people but its better to see people respect and accept the loss and work on from there
@@markusifland2538 I agree
Bro we had one bad game u guys had a whole bad tournament in 2018 and we beat y’all in the olympics and wdym we don’t respect the game we have the best football history ever 5 World Cups buddy
X2 PanJabi italy was bad in 2010 after they won in 2006,Same with Spain 2014 and same with germany. So it‘s not that of legendary defeat. I mean 7-1 in a worldcup at home...that says everything. And Germany had 2 bad games,so there is not a big difference.
Before this world cup.
I was talking to my friend and he was bragging about Brazil being a contender.
I said Brazil is very neymar centric team. If he goes out. Brazil will not be able to hold very well. And then this happened. He hasn't talked to me ever since.
😂😂
ninad pathak wow😂😂
You’re indian what do you know
@@harrywatkins1855 true.. but we both are fans.
He has been a Brazilian football fan since forever.
I have been German football since 2009 when I went there. So we were just discussing football as fans from 2 different support teams would. We had our own opinion (which we are entitled to, unless forcing on others).
So yes compared to Brazilian, I would know jack shit. But from a layman perspective I told him what I felt.
Harry Watkins what the fuck is that supposed to mean?
