Will never forget this game....My wife and I were in a sports bar in Washington D.C. watching this game. We, along with one other fellow, were the only German fans in there along with a bar FULL of Brazilian fans. We were savoring this game as the only 3 celebrating among hundreds, while simultaneously, watching the meltdown of the Brazilian fans inside! I began wondering if we should be concerned over our personal safety...so we kept the celebrations modest. :P

This game comes emotionally right behind the pass from Schürrle to Götze in the final. What impressed me, despite the deep sadness, was the respect the Brazilians showed for our DFB team. I'll never forget that too

As Germans spending our holidays in Italy my wife and I went to a little bar crowded with Italians that supported Brazil since Italy had not survived the group phase. After 30 minutes of the match all people in the bar were silenced, only staring at the TV while asking themselves if this could be real or just a dream (German perspective) or a nightmare (Italian/Brazilian perspective). For me the 2014 Brazilian World Cup was one of the best. Not only cause Germany won but also cause Brazilians have been a wonderful host, very friendly and passionate about football. And a lot of Brazilians cheered for Germany in the finals against Argentina, so we could take revenge ;)

As if my wife was sleeping with my brother and my parents knew about it. My father, after the 4th or 5th goal just left the living room, went to his room and didn't speak a word for a whole day. This is not true. Brasil once was, but the loss in the 1982 WC where they had the best team was a turning point in history. After that, Brasil did change their style of play to become more effective. And on one had, given the 1994 and 2002 wins it was not that bad but when looking at the football itself brasil has lost a lot of flair over the past 4 decades. For me the 2014 Brazilian World Cup was one of the best. Not only cause Germany won but also cause Brazilians have been a wonderful host, very friendly and passionate about football. And also because the fact that the German team treated the Brazilian squad with a lot of respect after winning. That was pure sportsmanship on both sides. And a lot of Brazilians cheered for Germany in the finals against Argentina, so we could take revenge ;)

As a Brazilian, I have never felt so humiliated in my whole life. I stopped watching football since that game. I felt cheated on. As if my wife was sleeping with my brother and my parents knew about it.
My father, after the 4th or 5th goal just left the living room, went to his room and didn't speak a word for a whole day.
When people speak about Brazil they speak about corruption, that sh*t president, poverty... only bad things. The only thing I had for me as a Brazilian to "defend" my country was the football. Now, not even this anymore.
It will take Brazil to beat Germany 7-0 in a world Cup (preferabley in Germany) for me to recover from this.
Unfortunately, I am 37 years old. I don't think it will happen in my lifetime.

This is not true. Brasil once was, but the loss in the 1982 WC where they had the best team was a turning point in history. After that, Brasil did change their style of play to become more effective. And on one had, given the 1994 and 2002 wins it was not that bad but when looking at the football itself brasil has lost a lot of flair over the past 4 decades. So it once was such a nation, nowadays to my mind there are no nations that make us love football. Which is why I in fat no longer care for it. Too commercialised, too much focussed on the result and playing in the system. If not, you are out....
