Yesterday, after I took the shields down on a master conda, I targeted the power plant and fired the C4PA. That one shot completely destroyed the power plant causing the conda to explode.
I swear by the C4 Plasma on my Cutter. Such an amazing weapon, I knock out enemy systems consistently. Hitting deflecting shots in assist off mode is very rewarding too
Do you know if there is such thing as a gimballed plasma accelerator

Hey Cmdr Jones your tutorial is one of the Best if not the best in RUclips. Really good tutorial really easy to follow, and nobody else understand the FDL more than you do. I wouldn't want to face you in combat, and I hope to see you in black some day. I think you could even sell me that new space pancake if you made a tutorial.

Easily one of the best Elite channels and my favourite too watch. Your tips and guides are generally spot on and you explain so well. FDL is my ship of choice now no urge to buy a bigger ship.

This video is exactly what I was looking for. I'm new to ED and after putting a couple of these on my Courier I realised I have some learning to do, which is great. I had a crash course in power distribution, then missed most of my shots once in combat. I'm thinking using the Couriers speed to ensure I hit my shots.

Dude! You can get infinite ammo by engineering to reload from your fueltank, (it consumes so little with the right engineering that it can be considered to be limitless)

Awesome Video, thanks your time and information. I used 2 PA's C2 on thg FDL side mounts then 3 Pulses it works very well sometimes have to roll to get one lined up to fire, but I would also do the opposite when I thought 1 will do the job, Fire one save one. Now I can afford the PA 4 have to locate a Station selling them. Thanks again.

+Razor IRL I know how you feel. I now have 2 fully kitted FDL's both setup for different purposes. I havent done anymore FDL videos as I think things are going to change significantly with the new class 4 weapons coming out. I think they could be complete game changers for the FDL :)

Aru - could be Anu the angelic forefather whom created the first five 👼🏻 angels. Majutsu - is that some subtlety of underhanded desire’, sounded like Maji muddled with JuJitSu.. dunno!! No Index could be a sarcastic repose of having removed the index.html index.htm & index.php files.. or you could be on too an intelligent machine like the matrices?

Not sure how long it's going to take me to GIT GUD with a C4-PA. But it is kinda fun and if I can get close to a smaller ship before taking that first shot, The fight is usually pretty much over at that point as most times that first shot removes all of their shields and up to half of their hull.

Praying for a different C4 heavy weapon soon, or perhaps C5. C4 beam, C2 pulse/burst, and C2 railgun is my fdl loadout

What happened to you? Your videos were awesome!
I have one on mine, worse than useless against small targets in my hands, but on the rare occasion it hits it wipes out half their hp and does terrible things to larger targets
Any thoughts on whether I should get one of these? Currently I have on my anaconda two small beam turrets (to transfer heat to enemies), four class 2 railguns, one class 3 Plasma accelerator, and a Class 4 multicannon. I would need to lose the multicannon to use this.

What's the name of the music you used in your vid?
Have they changed the way module damage works for engines? Before, the two drives shared one HP pool, so you didn't have to hit each one individually.
+philosofrenzy From my experience, you have to select each drive. But admittedly, I haven't done this for quite a while, as usually the ship will blow before I can take out the engines.
Nice video, how does the B4 cannon compare to the A4 PA?
+Alexis JV A4PA does considerably more damage to shields and hulls. B4cannon does reasonable amounts of damage to hulls, but is useless against shields. I am not really a big fan of it, but some people love it. Cannon is easier to use if your using gimballs and dosent draw so much power from your system, wheras the C4PA causes a lot of heat, lots of power drain and only comes in fixed, so its much harder to use. So I would suggest pick whichever one suits your playstyle better, but give each weapon a chance (1-2weeks of use) before you decide against it. It takes time to get used to them.
+Vindicator Jones Thanks, I'm currently using the Huge fixed cannon, it does have a faster projectile velocity than the PA, righ?
I tried the gimbal, it just don't work on the FDL Hardpoint...
+Alexis JV It does have a slightly faster projectile speed, but I honestly cant tell you how much faster it is, but I think its negligible.. I could be wrong though. For me it dosent seem that much faster. If you feel comfortable and happy with the canon, stick with it. Alternatively I would suggest trying the PA for 2 weeks, give it a chance, and then see how you go.

I wonder if this is still the case in 2020? :/ I joined the game month ago. I have a similar setup with focused plasma and focused medium pulse lasers. It melts targets rly fast but i'm not sure if plasma or my rapidfire seq multicannon ::^)
Not exactly. PA usage is much more refined. The basics are there, but modern engineering makes using plasmas alot more viable then it was back in the day.
I've been trying to make a build based around the C4PA do you use three shield boosters and full hull package instead of using SCB's? I cant seam to get a SCB to fit power wise into any build that I like.

For the moment you will have to deactivate your PA before you can use the SCB, or retract your weapons. After update 1.5 this will change though due to the FDL getting a buff and a bigger power plant slot. You will then be able to keep your SCB activated, even with weapons deployed.

Question, is the railgun any good with the FDL, my thinking is that it would be easier to aim as is not a projectile but rather goes straight.
It is very good, but railguns run very very hot now, and draw a lot of power. If your after a PVP build, then railguns are still very good, but for PVE, their lack of ammo makes them not worthwhile, unless your only doing assassination missions.. I have done a video about railguns vs imperial hammers. You might want to have a look at it.

Real FDL build is all PAs
This thing looks so much fun but 30mil on a single unit thats crazy, took me a 100 hours just to decently outfit my python and i still don't have A class power distribuitor
how many of these can you have on a single ship?
Only really use PA on PvE since bots are stupid. How does it hold up with PvP?

But I stumpled upon 2 minor things bothering me which are both related to your sound:
-While recording please move your microphone a little bit more away from your mouth. The strong bass really bothers.
-Please please please change your music.

Is this a good weapon on my Anaconda , that I use for Trading?
I don't find the anaconda to be maneuverable enough to line up the shot with a PA or to maintain a dominant position which is key with this weapon

One plasma accelerator? How about only two pulse and like 3 plasmas, sure I mean maybe most the damage to your ship is heat but, they won't know that :)
Nice video ... music is a bit distracting and really not required .. maybe at least lower the level by another 3 db
