  • A photo of irises growing along Lake Erie's shoreline inspired Jane's latest tutorial. Follow along as she explains how she sketches out her canvas; what paint colors she uses to get her desired results; how she creates shadows and light; and how she paints irises. It is done in her easy, loose and fun approach to painting. At her website, www.JaneSlivkaGallery.com, click on "shop" which will bring you to info on the brushes, palette, and paint colors she likes to use. You can also purchase one hour classes for only $25 that show the complete painting process from start to finish

I know everybody watches on different devices. On my tablet,I can zoom in when and where I warmth to. I would love the camera to stay zoomed ou5, and I can zoom in when I warmth to. For some reason, the movement makes me dizzy. And the reason I don't like the zooming artistically is because I like to see the whole canvas...... what YOU are seeing as you paint.... if that makes sense.....😊😊❤

I like the way the camera shots zoom in and show the brush strokes and the amount of paint you use. Another stunning artwork jane, brilliant.
Well done again both of you❤😊

Hi Jane, Why don’t you paint your sky, water and sand before the flowers? Just curious. Thank you for your time.

Love watching u paint. One day I’d love to see you do the final detail work. I’ve tried painting like you but I think I get too “detailed” after initial loose painting is dry. I’ve taken at least 4 of your classes.

So much vitality! Along my pond in Cape Coral, I have whitish yellow irises that bloom generally from March to the end of summer. They are called African irises and are often times called the butterfly iris. I never thought of painting them with a background of our lovely water. Thank you once again for the inspiration and the joy.

Another great painting lesson Jane! If you were to make purple or red flowers, would you add white first over the hookers green sketch? Or would you sketch with hookers green and put purple or red right over it?

Draga Jane.
Sending you my love and light. ❤
