I miss those days... I went the all the live beyonds they did back then. Colin refused to let me buy him a drink and instead bought me one. We all hung out a tiny bar down from IGn. Good Ol Days!
I’ve listened to Colin for 10 years. I’m as left leaning as they come. The man is not a “fascist” or a “racist” as many in the industry accuse him of being. He’s simply a conservative (he actually describes himself as being more left-leaning and populist now, while still holding conservative ideals). We’re talking about a guy who left the Republican Party over Donald Trump in 2016. We’re talking about a guy who’s been dating a black woman for more than a year. Since you made this video, he’s since stopped posting on Twitter due to people in the industry trying to cancel him on an almost monthly cycle and only uses it to advertise his business. He’s admitted his rhetoric in the past was harsh and he’s taken active steps to tone that down. Regardless, thanks for being able to understand nuance and doing your own research.
I’m left/left-center and have listened to him since, god, I don’t even know how long. Has Colin said some stuff that is not white washed to hell? Yeah but that’s how humans are built. I think it has less to do with Colin’s political leanings or whatever and more to do with how he just doesn’t give a fuck. People who are unapologetic like that often get caught in the cross hairs. I’m a very outspoken person and boy has it gotten me into hot water before. It’s happened at jobs, with friends, with family. People who speak their minds can upset the general masses. In an industry like video games where it’s expected that it’s all apolitical and “easy listening”, Colin sticks out like a sore thumb.
In his interview with David Jaffe during an episode of SS+ he mentions having nothing but love for Kevin and Nick, so who knows. It would blow the biggest veiny bumpy dicks if we never get to see them together again, especially Nick
@@rodentcitadel I’ll have to listen, any idea which episode of SS+ it is? And thanks for the comment man, it’s nice to come back and reminisce sometimes, sounds weird because I’ve never met these guys but they had a profound effect on me while growing up.
My dude, I'm not even done watching your video and I just want to thank you for restoring my faith in people to have a nuanced understanding of these complex circumstances. I've been a fan of games media for 30 years and the CM controversy was the most fucked up thing I've seen since the laying off of Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot. Gerstmann went on to make Giant Bomb and now Collin has the most successful entertainment media patreon.
Not gonna lie , the fact that you think Colin deciding to leave on his accord and Jeff being fired for a review is insane to me. The thing is , Colin clearly didnt wanna cover gaming anymore he just wanted to make political videos so when he found the chance he took it..... but his political content flopped so he got back to gaming
@@Z50nemesis That's not true, he only got out of the industry because of the hate mob and he eventually went back because he's still passionate about it and didn't want to let them control his life like that, now he's got the most successful gaming podcast on Patreon and he even writes for a game studio that he owns part of. Also I wasn't comparing his situation to Jeff's I was only saying it was the most ridiculous thing I'd seen in the industry since then, they're obviously different.
@@surobura Sorry but thats clearly not true. For starters he decided to leave against what the others wanted , he even made them buy his part of the company. -Second and most importantly...... He started covering videogames again after his political show failed.... you can literally go on his channel and see that progression. There was no sacred symbols at the beggining of colin's last stand. -Third , you keep saying he has the highest gaming patreon podcast... Which 1)Means he has a dedicated audience but that audience is clearly not that big, when you thinl about the most influential game content creators no one things about Colin Moriarty 2)Part of that has to do with Chris Ray Gun a much bigger youtuber being part of the show.
Possibly another thing to keep in mind, especially those who don't live in America, is that he is from Long Island. This is to say that his blunt matter-of-fact manner of speaking comes from where he grew up. Everyone I know from the northeast, especially near the city talk like this. So some things he says can seem more abrasive than they actually are meant to in the main. But if you're in the U.S. this is generally common knowledge and (in conversation at least) is looked at as normal and someone just having a conversation. Being from the South it'd be a similar kind of thing if someone in the South was being overly nice to you in a conversation. As someone from the south as well I know that means they are basically belittling you based on their tone. Anyway, in Colin's case, it's this but with a neutral connotation.
That’s a valid point. I could’ve mentioned the context of where he’s from. But as a European it probably wasn’t as present when I recorded the video. But thanks for pointing it out.
I really enjoy these longer video essay style videos. I think you bring a nuanced approach and cover both sides in a pretty unbiased way. Just wanted to leave a comment to help with the algorithm and to tell you to keep it up! P.S. I had never heard of any of these people before and you did a great job of making me want to watch the video anyways.
Hey thanks. That’s a very motivating comment. I really appreciate it. To be honest, I think the main reason why I appear unbiased, is because RUclips is such a horribly biased place. Most channels have a clear political position and they only look at things from that point of view. It’s terrible, even they follow the same bias as you. So I try to not do that too much. Mainly because I see it everywhere on RUclips and I hate it.
@@TheSneezingMonkey I agree completely. I find that politicization has occurred across society not even just on social media, this may be just in the US because I live there, and it is so frustrating to deal with. It has become increasingly difficult to identify with a political group because both are so hypocritical and frankly radicalized. I consider myself a moderate that will lean towards whatever feels right and has solid reasoning behind it. While it may be a snake pit, a video essay about the US political system and two party system could be very interesting, especially from an outside perspective. I would be happy to provide any help and perhaps some insight into the US perspective if you'd like to pursue that. Regardless, thanks for the reply, keep it up!
I follow Colin and have done for a whole while now. That tweet about him "making the space worse for anyone not a cis white male" made me burst out laughing. I dunno where the hell that comes from and I've followed his output for years. Oh, and I'm trans.
Totally agree. My politics are opposite to Colin but he ain’t done nothing wrong. He will always listen to an opposite opinion and even though he’s a republican he has many views that are democratic. I think the word Jealous plays a big part in the way he’s treated.
There’s nothing confusing about this Colin is openly conservative and the mainstream gaming media is 99.9% progressives and unfortunately in today’s culture these two ideologies cannot mingle.
Hey man, first of, this was great and I have an enormous amount of respect for the way in which you conducted this video and explored the ideas discussed. On the baby comments, while I appreciate its slightly inflammatory phraseology, in the context of its usage I think its actually apt. He's discussing university students, who presumably have entered in to further education to explore new ideas and take on new information, preventing speakers from sharing their ideas at their institution. Critically, attendance for this talk was not mandatory and they could simply not attend but instead, they kicked up a fuss and prevented those who would be interested in hearing what he had to say from having the opportunity. This to me is not only selfish but resembles the kind of tantrum an infant would throw. Therefore, while certainly disparaging, I think the usage of the term is completely appropriate for conveying his opinion. I'm not a Milo fan, I think he's largely a troll and wouldn't take much of what he has to say seriously, but not my place to decide who else should have the opportunity to hear him speak any more than its 'the babies' at this college. TL;DR - The term 'baby' is somewhat contemptuous but he's using it to describe juvenile, contemptuous behaviour. It's therefore appropriately conveying the sentiment.
Thanks for your input. And I do see your point. But to me it looks like he’s reacting to the students ‘tantrum’ with his own tantrum. By being inflammatory. If he would ‘just not attend’ the event, why does he not simply ’not comment’ on the matter. Which is the equivalent of not attending in my opinion. It’s like he points his finger at them, and then kinda does the same thing. To be very honest, even he is not a fan of Milo, I think his comment were not so emotional because ‘opinions are censored’. It’s because conservative right leaning opinions are being shut down. And he doesn’t like that. But that’s just my opinion and speculation. Your points are equally valid. Thanks for sharing them.
I swear the modern discourse has become so toxic that people see the word conservative or republican and make all these baseless assumptions about someone. Unlike most people Colin will always seek discourse and discussion with someone that disagrees with him. There is no hint of hyperbole or rhetoric with him, as he will always argue his position and does so with the utmost respect and civility. The anger and hate towards him is not about Colin at all, it's about their own insecurities and issues. Like you say here when people actually stop and listen to Colin you can see there is no justification for the hate.
Good video. Quick thought. If someone went through every somewhat controversial thing you said on twitter over several years and strung them back to back it might give an unfair view of that person. People are a mix of bad and good. You have to view them as a whole. Context is important. We should all strive to be better.
Wait til you hit 30. We grew up without internet, huge cultural differences in the generations already. God knows what the 20 year olds will be doing in ten years.
@@souljastation5463 Look at people like DSP and Wings of redemption ,thats being attacked. The worst thing that ever happened to Collin was Bob mackey making fun of him ok twitter lol. And remember Colin wasnt fired from KF he decide to leave
It's probably people that are so rigid in their worldview that any deviation is considered outlandish and will get you labeled as all of the bad -isms, and then also people who will believe any headline they read but haven't actually listened to Colin speak for any significant amount of time (then there's also those who pretend to be woke not to get shit themselves). I've listened to Colin for hours and hours and he's a great guy obviously. It's just that some people can't bare listening to someone who gets to speak their mind, or someone who doesn't share every single aspect of their worldview.
Man, I just kinda popped into your channel from your RLM VS. James Tiberius Kirk and having a late night. Gotta say, I didn't really know what your channel was going to be like. I've watched a couple of videos and I pretty much agree whole heartedly. You seem very calm, cool, and collected. And just want to say thanks for making my night/morning a little better and more interesting. Good content, and always good to see a fellow human being using their noggin again every once and a while!
I've always respected Colin as a well-informed, honest journalist. A couple years after Kinda Funny was formed, Colin started in being a bit more vocal about his views, which is, of course, his right. I still respected his opinion within the gaming space, even if I disagree with a large amount of his political views. NOTE: I may disagree with many of his opinions, but he is always articulate, and typically backs up his views with actual facts. Here in the US, there's a chain of restaurants called "Chik-Fil-A", which are owned and operated by ultra-Christian/Conservative people. That is what it is, though after it came to light that they routinely donate profits to anti-gay lobbyists, many opted not to patronize them. When this was just after its height, he ate Chik-Fil-A and made a show of it on Twitter. I replied, mildly annoyed that he would act in opposition to supporting the gay community. Colin responded with something amounting to "It's just a sandwich," and blocked me. Looking back, we were both wrong. Fact is, it WAS just a sandwich. Colin didn't shout, "DOWN WITH GAYS!" while he ate it, or anything. I think it was a poor choice of him to make to publicize it. I do think that the very concept of "cancel culture" and "political correctness" are abhorrent in the way they are used. If you don't like what someone is saying in a video game, album, stand up comedy, film, RUclips, whatever - you can just not listen/watch/engage. Sure, outwardly militant racist or anti-LGBTQIA+ material, as an example, crosses a line. I think that Colin is a true Conservative, inasmuch as he is a true believer in personal freedom. I've never seen him say anything against marginalized groups directly, and seems to want people to be able to live their lives. Along those lines, I think that he is advocating for freedom of expression, particularly in video games. I can't say that I blame him for wanting to do that. Thing is, he could stand to be a hell of a lot less dickish when he does it. At the end of the day, I would say to Colin what my mother said to me for decades: "It's not what you say; it's how you say it."
"Cancel culture" is just American freedom of speech. You are free to express your views, and those who disagree are allowed to stop doing business with you. 🤷♂️ And the Chick-fil-A thing is such a cop out for him. Imagine if Apple came out and said something like "All Lives Matter" and then the next day I show me investing my whole savings account into Apple stocks. Me saying it's "tOtAlLy UnReLaTeD" is the equivalent of a kid putting their hand in your face and going "I'm not touching you!"
@@user84074 All I will say is this: Most acts of free speech do not serve to try and stonewall a person's career and ruin their reputation. It's neither an exact science or an accurate 1:1 comparison.
Great video. I’m a huge Colin fan and I always wonder where the hate comes from. Just as I assumed it’s all mostly loosely based misinformation. People need to educate themselves before joining the Lynch mob. Keep up the good work man, I appreciate people getting to the bottom of things with well researched facts!
Well done. An absolutely level headed look at Colin. Most people either support him blindly or dog pile him. You took a great path right up the middle. Personally, I think Colin is a brilliant games journalist and one of the best in the industry. He just needs to stop making so many off-the-cuff remarks and getting so easily goaded on Twitter.
He once said that racism doesnt exist because asians have high test scores. I....didnt really mind him at ign until then. But being black and someone who has suffered direct discrimination before it really made me sad to hear from someone i enioyed the content of
I can imagine. That’s not a smart thing to say. I think waay too many people struggling to walk in someone else’s shoes. They don’t experience significant discrimination so they have a hard time imagining that it’s very real for others. It’s a lack of empathy. I once read an interesting example that can maybe help to explain. If you’re on a full train and others want in, you think “aaw there’s no more room really”. You don’t want them to enter. But if you are outside that same train you think “common make some room in there”. That’s the same person, but the person inside can not relate to the problem the person outside has. You ignore them because it’s easier. So unless you are able to reflect about situations like that, you will act as if privilege doesn’t exist. As if discrimination doesn’t exist. It’s disturbing. Thanks for your comment.
@@TheSneezingMonkey its a really poignant comment to make. Thank you for that. I get twitter is a crazy town of weird takes from all sorts of people but when people start getting into the weird pseudo science to rationalize certain viewpoints is where i check out. What does certain parts of minority groups succeeding in schooling have to do with general structural problems regarding minority groups who are disadvantaged? Its not like it proves certain groups are just dumber or genetically predisposed to failure or lazyness....its just hurtful.
@@TheSneezingMonkey Hi there. Great work on the video. I remember that tweet from him. My understanding was he was offering evidence that proves there is no systemic prejudices in academia that is stopping minorities from succeeding. On Twitter it's easy to read what you want to read and take statements out of context or interpret a comment differently or with political bias. I don't think there's any doubt Colin's leaning to the right is a factor. I don't think he's really so very conservative though. He didn't even vote for Trump but I think hating on Hillary and occasionally praising the former president during his tenure and using Twitter to stand up to the woke mob has made him into games media enemy number 1. At least there's still a handful of people in the space who are willing to work with him because his content still rules.
Great video, mate. I’m a huge supporter of Colins, & I think I agree with you when you say his tweets don’t reflect the deep thinker we know he is. But that’s Twitter. It’s a different platform for him. He chooses to use it that way I suppose. The real bloke is a very kind, generous person. God knows I’ve got my rough edges.
@@apophis9192 Sacred Symbols. Its great. Give it a chance. Colin takes pride that its apolitical. His co-host Chris is a liberal and they have a good dynamic
Dude got forced out of a company he co-founded with his “best friends” because games media didn’t like that he didn’t have the exact same line of thinking as them
He quit the company. Not that anyone deserves to be canceled for being conservative, but he chose to be publicly outspoken about his political views, and as any professional knows, nuking your career is always a likely consequences of that, especially in any industry in the public eye. You might end up upsetting some people and people with influence. Same goes for either political ideology. FYI: I am a fan of Colin and I don't believe he deserves any unnecessary hate but neither does Kinda Funny.
@@TonyMezaXD i would agree Kinda Funny doesn't deserve the hate, but you have an entire industry in games media that is politically outspoken liberals who, at most, get pushback from people on Twitter. Unless they're being hateful, they can talk at length about liberal policy points and what have you and face zero consequences from their employers. Often they are praised for speaking out! But Colin is a Conservative in a liberal medium, the rules arent the same for him. You can say the joke that got him removed from KF was distasteful, but plenty of people who still work in the industry who are very liberal, such as some Kotaku writers for example, have years old Tweets that dont paint them in a very good light that they arent held to account for. For the most part, the parties have moved on and seem better for it, so good for all of them. But Colin does seem to be vilified pretty hard compared to his peers.
Nah. That’s noise. They were all ready to continue to back him like they always have. He chose to leave and play the victim, and left Kinda Funny to clean up the mess. He went on a conservative media tour and everything. The guys would have happily had him back on Colin and Greg Live Monday morning after the whole situation. He left the only people in the industry that ever supported him with an angry mob, ready to force the company belly up.
@@TonyMezaXD That's not true: radlib gaming journalists can be (and most of them are on twitter) as outspoken as you can get about politics, in fact, they can come after you for not being outspoken enough. Of course you have to support their kind of politics, and they're all part of the same very, very narrow clique of like-minded people. It's not even a matter of being conservative, they would cancel a leftist too if they didn't toe their line exactly.
Great work. As a fan of both Colin and kinda funny, I always wondered why parts of the industry hated on Colin. Thanks for the info and I'm going to keep supporting both of these amazing businesses

he's conservative, thats really it. conservative has a really negative connotation around it now due to the modern popular conservative voices being batshit crazy. but being conservative just means you would prefer to keep the constitution and foundation of the US government as in tact as possible when it comes to policy. it does not mean youre racist, like people tend to think lol. Colin is incredibly well informed when it comes to US history and surrounding politics. i always respect his views even though i may not agree with him at every turn, he has always provided logic to his reasoning. I go to him for games anyways, and the fact that the gaming industry wants to gatekeep based off of political affiliation is infuriating. Personally i fall more to left than i do right but i am registered as independent.
He really isnt, sometimes i cringe at the political stuff he said at KF. Like when he said the gop is more ideogically varied than the dems... And thats just insane lol
@@mr.penguin4614 i've love to tell you which chapters they were but i dont rememeber now. I still listen to Sacred Symbols podcast only because I think they do a great job getting some underrated news talked about. But for years now I think that Colin became this self centered, patronizing person that truly believes that he is always right. There's a lot of 'hate', or at least, push back on him that I really think it's justified.
You said it best, don't give them ammunition to continue for these debates. I feel like we all have these mental lapses at times and say things that are unnecessary. I've been a follower of Colin's for a while now, so I appreciate the unbiased input and additional perspectives.
I don’t care about what he did or said.. I just personally don’t care for his personality in general. He acts very “know it all” and “my opinion is the best opinion” and just very bossy and a little bit condescending in general with his tone, like he thinks he’s the shit.
As soon as people can say that context does not matter, you can stop thinking about proper discourse, since these type of people have left logic and reason behind.
My thoughts - I'm a fan of Colin where gaming is concerned. When other parts of his personality come through it can sometimes be a tad infuriating. 1 example, nock back podcast he does with his brother, they spoke of their upbringing and Colin was completely dismissive of his brothers issues growing up just constantly saying he was the one who had it worse, multiple times he would mention this in different ways. He has a "poor me" mentality at times and a personality that is hard to like I feel. But saying all that I listen to sacred symbols week in week out so go figure.
@@TheSneezingMonkey no problem bro, I also thought where he comes from and how they express themselves differently from area to area was a very interesting point.
Ehhhh I think you’re mischaracterizing that conversation a little bit. It did come off a little dismissive, but i think it’s more a symptom of how uniquely formative the situation was for him as a literal child through the rest of his life, rather than a symptom of Colin actively shrugging Dagan’s perspective off. I’m sure they’ve had plenty of conversations about it where he did less talking and more listening over the years. They’re brothers. You need only listen to 20 minutes of any episode of that show to see how much they care about and love each other
@@rodentcitadel I don't for one second disagree with you, I just found Colins response distasteful that's all. Tbh, I'm growing more fond of Colin and the LSM team in general, this was just a specific thing I didn't really care for.
I really agree with your assessment. I enjoy Colin and his content from back at Beyond! and I don't see a reason to "cancel" him. However, he does put himself in bad situations that he doesn't need to by being sarcastic or antagonistic. It's really frustrating that the games industry can't have differing opinions on things, and respect each other's differences and opinions. It's become so extreme that if you don't think the EXACT way they want you to, then they're going to try and push you out. I still listen to and enjoy Kinda Funny content, but it's frustrating that they all have the exact same views on everything. And even when Nick is trying to be reasonable and see every side, he basically gets shut down or made the odd man out for even playing devil's advocate
cultural appropriation seems to be different from person to person, something as simple as dreadlocks on the "wrong person" offends some, but saying someone cant do something because of there skin or culture seems to be pushing the line on racism to me
I’m really glad you did a video on this, as it’s something I’ve been confused by for years, and you really hit on something for me in this video: that there are two Colins. There’s the calm intellectual that you see when Colin talks to someone in person, and there’s the raving old man shaking his fist at the world on Twitter. I think what Colin, and the people who clash with him on Twitter lack in general is empathy for each other. Sure, maybe you are confident you disagree with someone, but try to understand where they’re coming from anyways. Sometimes even if someone makes a bad argument, if you look deeper, you can understand and agree with a kernel of truth within that argument which is the reason they’re fighting for it, even if their argument is overly emotional or poorly constructed. Colin doesn’t look for that kernel of truth, he just does what many small-minded people do: lump the opinion into a category in order to dismiss it. “Oh, you think opinion x? Well opinion x belongs in the ‘political correctness’ category so I will put it there and think about it no further. And throw in an insult for good measure,” instead of taking each situation as unique and trying to understand the other side. It’s generalizing vs critical thinking, which is what small-minded people do, and it’s unfortunately what raving Twitter Colin does. It’s hard to believe that intellectual Colin exists within the same person sometimes.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment and thanks for taking the time to watch the video. I’m glad someone sees it the same way I do. It is true that there seems to be a generalisation in his approach to opinions. You described it rather well. I think if he could filter out that ‘negative persona’ it would save him and others a lot of trouble.
@@TheSneezingMonkey thank you for reading my comment- it was kind of stream-of-thought, lol. Colin was someone I used to look up to a lot, but since developing his abrasive attitude he’s more of a mixed bag for me these days. It makes me sad.
Colin is not wrong that there are many people are aren't truly offended by the things they claim to be and champion it for the "victim" as a way to get attention on themselves. He as a culture commentator for better or worse gets in the mud. This video gave light to the more inflammatory comments and not citing the dates of the comments and time between them it gives a feel of him constantly lashing out on people on twitter.
@@dillonduke1662 "I'm sure he's said something crazy." --- his tweet that got him cancelled is the craziest thing he's ever said & that was EXTREMELY mild & not even close to being worthy of career cancellation. its just idiot woke progressives trying to cut somebody down to make themselves feel morally superior.
On the topic of not caring about other people's offense (around 21:40). It's not simply a matter or people taking offense and coming to terms with that fact. It is people taking offense and determing that it is their responsibility to fix the cultural landscape of conflicting/offensive instances. Colin is combating a future which he considers to be toxic in nature where everyone feels empowered to cancel out other people's art and free speech over claimed offense (which is basically our present). Yes, by entering that conversation he is bringing more attention his way, but he also considers it a fight or position worth not remaining silent on.
I just watched your video. But my opinion is that people blow everything up just to take Colin down. They want something negative, so they make something small, something big in a negative way. Colin has a target on his back just like example naughty dog. Naughty dog is one of the best developers out there. Just like Colin is one of the best podcasters out there. On that moment people start to target you (because of jaloezie...). So they will explode every little thing they can to take you down. With ND, all these negative people jumped on the train, starting to talk shit about the game, without even have played the game. For me, it doesn't make any sense. But unfortunately that's how a lot of people are. I do agree with you that people should mind there own businesses more, and that would avoid a lot of negative BS. But on the other hand, stop whining so fast. The moment Colin does something completely out of proportion, everyone will know, and there wouldn't be questions asked about why this and why that like now. No, they will burn him to the ground. But that moment will never come, because Colin will not do something like that. And if you say, what about that joke, and this and that. It didn't mean anything. We all know that, some people just saw an opportunity, but they failed and will keep failing! That's a fact!
You're not wrong, but the problem is that if even if ND were a shitty developer they would be praised, lauded and awarded anyway by the industry, because of their "stunning and brave" politics. While a deserving studio will be put down for not having the right kind of politics (like it happened to Days Gone, which is a far better game than gaming journalists would want you to believe). And thanks to those journalists Sony has cancelled the sequel and effectively dismantled Bend studio. What I mean is that there is a huge inbalance in power: the people that hate CM can destroy his carrier, while the people that hate ND can't do shit, in fact, the more they hate ND the more it will be propped up by the industry.
If you guys are curious about Colin, he's open in a more "up to date" manner in this podcast episode. Starts political talk fairly early on. ruclips.net/video/YCoFm_tg1Fs/видео.html
I like how being respectful to everyone and being sensitive to those that may be hurt even when you don't understand, makes you a lefty. Says a lot about the hate the right harbors.
You were very good about a lot of this but you really need to research Andy Ngo. Also it was during a time when Colin was transitioning from Game commentator to political commentator then back to games when it was too vitriolic.
I don't know if youtube can read minds these days or if people are searching for more information on Colin after watching him to interview Filip Miucin. I am certain that I don't know even a fraction of what is happening or has happened in Colin's life. Still, I have listened to Colin since IGN Beyond days and in my personal opinion, Colin most likely won't stop provocatively participating in controversial topics since he has already lost so much because of those topics and the reactions. And if that day does come, it has to come from him in his own terms. Well, at least mostly. I wouldn't be surprised if all this had a left a big trauma in Colin, although it all seems so minor based on his Twitter posts. I wish Colin all the best and I hope he does come in terms with the whole situation and can set aside some more personal feelings. There is another way, but ultimately Colin must find it himself. Luckily Colin has the community to support and guide him in the journey, not to mention his family and friends.
I loved this video and as a fan I've always wondered this about Colin. Hearing all of these things brought up at the same time kind of makes me feel like people might think he's an undercover racist/sexist. People will say just because his opinion differs doesn't make him those things. But it's what he chooses to critique that makes it seem that way...and granted the time he was raised in is different from today it just comes off as a bit messed up when he makes slick remarks about real issues that people deal with. With all that being said there must be some underlying things people have seen that we don't know about. But I know older people who think the same way and can't accept change or think everyone is soft because people are more offended today then they were back then. As a black man the same thing could be said about Dave Chappelle like his jokes in his old shows and Sets are funny but wouldn't fly nowadays due to how sensitive society is. So I get Colin but he makes it hard to defend him when he's constantly speaking on these kinds of topics
I think there are 2 big components here: first is conflating outrage and "poor taste" and the second is attacking people instead of ideas. Let's look at Colin's infamous joke since I think it's a good proxy for this whole thing. Colin has a big platform and the opportunity to inspire a lot of people. He wasted that opportunity at the expense of making a joke that wasn't honestly all THAT funny. So a lot of people called him out on it basically saying "hey man, do better". When a lot of people criticize you it can feel much worse than it actually is. Obviously there were people being rude or mean to Colin about this joke but I think the vast majority of his peers weren't mad, just disappointed he didn't do better. For the second part, Colin is often falling into this trap of correctly pointing out bad ideas but instead of stopping at the idea he turns it into a personal attack by calling large groups of people (and individuals) babies or idiots. A lot of problems could be avoided by spending more time on why the idea is no good and avoiding the personal attacks. I have heard him say so many times "I would love to have this person on my show to talk about this but they won't because they know their argument is weak"... is the reason because their argument is weak or is it because you just spent 5 minutes personally attacking them? I like Colin and hold many different beliefs than he does. He challenges me to think differently and when he is on his A game he can be really kind and understanding. I don't think he has ever made a comment that made think he honestly hates anybody but instead has made several statements that were simply in poor taste. But don't we all at some point or another? We should hold him to a high standard because he has the ability to influence so many people and he is just such a smart and capable dude.
The thing I’ve noticed about the gaming industry since I got back into it 5 or 6 years ago is times have changed . The industry is filled with a lot of entitled weak people.
I used to be a big fan of Colin and was a little upset when he left KF but haven't really had the time to follow his content since them. I recently started dabbling with his stuff again because I used to really appreciate his insightful takes on games, however this video completely changed my opinion on him. Had no idea he had made so many stupid fucking comments. Dude loves to act like he was targeted for no reason but clearly his shitty opinions just weren't popular in the "marketplace of ideas" as people of his ilk like to call it. Fuck em.
I think this is the reason why he never mentions what happened. Or directly comments on stuff he said. It took me way too long to hand pick the quotes for this video. Because if he would openly put it out there it would lead to more people like you. Who like him but now cut the ties because of his trashy opinions. So better try to keep it under the radar.
A great video i have to say , very impressed. Imo Colin suffers from the same problem all of us do. Hes human. Unfortunately his mistakes are magnified and he more than likely doesnt have a social media expert looking over his tweets like most of the gaming industry. I also believe he is blacklisted for not being a part of the advertising process like IGN, like Kinda Funny etc etc. Its hard to find people out there with large followings and opinions on media that actually pay for those pieces of media. Colin may not follow conform to whats popular or do sponsored videos on games etc , but at least i know his opinion is genuine and never doctored by being paid by a faceless entity that may blacklist you if you dislike their game.
Problem is not that he makes mistakes is that he doesnt believe he can make mistakes thats why he gets mad when people point out his dumb old takes like how the switch would fail and how the vita would destroy the 3ds
The man wants to work in entertainment but preaches his political ideology. It's his own fault he cut his audience in half. Lots of entertainers and people who work in entertainment media do it. I don't really want to hear any of their political rhetoric b*******
Just came across this video and have been a fan of C.M. for a number of years. It just seems like a witch hunt because his personality can be a bit brash, but he comes off as open minded and genuine in his beliefs. The whole ordeal with Kinda Funny left a bad taste in my mouth and dropped any and all support for that company. He was there for his then friend as they were going through cancer and that friend doesn't stand up for Colin, just disgusting behavior from a person who leads a community of "best friends."
Nothing justify it, they don't even know why they hate him, just know they are supposed to hate him. Some may hate him because they are siding with Greg and the KF true and feel they need to hate him like friends of an ex-girlfriend.
My issue with Colin only came during the "joke incident". While the uproar was unwarranted for a dad joke, Colin responded with a tweet saying that his gf thought it was funny, anyone who took offense was a humorless sack of sh!t. He was a business owner who had employees he was responsible for, and he dug in on a joke instead of thinking of the PR and the people's whose live were dependent on the company he represented. He walked away from the company and put Greg in a really tight spot. Greg got a load of crap from the part of the community that loved Colin, he had to buy out Colin's part of the company. He had to take over the whole of the cost of their apartment when Colin decided to move out... all over a joke. Then Colin was so shocked when Greg didn't want to get drinks with him later on. I liked Colin, I miss the colin/Greg connection, but as an older adult who has responsibilities and has people depending on me, Colin's temper tantrum over a joke and the backlash over a joke made me realize that he's just a toxic individual. Until he comes out and apologizes for what he did and the amount of venom he caused in the community he built, he's blacklisted from my podcast list.
I just got banned on Resetera cause I answered "Moriarty", just that word, on a topic asking for people on the video-game media you like Absolutely ridiculous
Interesting point imo. I don’t know his community in depth. But if what you say is true, it kinda makes sense in the bigger picture. For example, they cancel his event because they don’t want his crowd there. It’s possible. I guess the comments under this video give an indication. While all comments have made an effort to be civil, some of them are rather revealing.
@@TheSneezingMonkey I’m not calling all of his fans awful, but he definitely attracts members with more far-right ideologies. The people you’d find in the IGN comment sections haha. I’m sure he’s not deliberately trying to get these people, it’s just that he’s the only publicly right-wing gamer (That I know of) and they probably feel he’s the only one they can relate to. What that says on his political stances is an entirely different subject. I do think a lot of his controversial tweets are insensitive, but I don’t think he should be “Canceled” and black labeled for something that was relatively harmless. You can easily unfollow and mute him.
@@ToastyBunsMcGee The truth is that the gaming press is a very, very, very restrict circle of like-minded people (mostly radlibs), you don't need to be a right winger in order to be ostracised, even a left winger who does not toe the line will get booted out. But if you are indeed a non-apologetic right winger, like he is, then you're "literally" Hitler, and everything they do to you is a noble fight for the greater good in their minds. He's from a time before the existence of "the clique", you won't see any right-wing gaming journalist today simply because they won't let them in.
I used to love watching Kinda Funny, especially around E3. I am not and have never been a fan of Colin, but watching him expose how disgustingly fake and disingenuous Kinda Funny is, was a real joy to behold. Colin literally became a millionaire overnight when he opened up his own Patreon so I'll never feel sorry for him monetarily. He has made a name for himself in an industry that is toxically woke to the point of it's downfall, and with his views, he is like a kite in a hurricane. Greg was barely tolerable anyway, but he showed his true colors when Colin tweeted about Women's Day. That was incredibly hypocritical given all the "toxic" things he's said about women on the Kinda Funny show. He was never a true friend to Colin, and made it the perfect opportunity for that insufferable beta male Tim Gettys to take Colin's spot. Haven't watched them since. And to your point about him engaging with these people online: That's his choice and I believe people like him need to. For example, you said he shouldn't have given the lady any platform by not replying to her about her Horizon comments. She already had a platform and it was made bigger by Greg reading it out on the show. He had a right to and should have reacted to it. You seriously misunderstand or underestimate the left and the power they have on social media. If people do not call these crazies out on their insanity, they always get their way. Thats why The Last of Us 2 happened, and it will only get worse. The gaming industry (just like Hollywood) is collapsing because it has fully chosen a side that does not represent the majority and actually is adversarial to the majority. They are not inclusive. If you do not agree with them, you are cancelled. I don't fully agree with the right either, but at least they believe in freedom of speech and expression. That's the truth.
This IS freedom of speech, though. He was free to say whatever he wanted. FoS doesn't mean everyone has to be nice to you and laugh at your dumb jokes. You're free to say dumb shit, and I'm free to stop doing business with you. 🤷♂️
I do feel there's else you have to take into account when talking about Colin.... He kinda sucks as a journalist because he doesnt know and refuses to learn. From his infamous "vita will destroy the 3ds " article to his last episode i KF where he said Splatoon got great reviews only cause fanboys (it got a 79 on metacritic not exactly great ) and him saying Breath of the wild sucked without finishing the tutorial
I don’t think there is a debate on whether or not the first attempt at a joke was right or wrong. It was dumb and a bad idea and so poorly timed, and he defended the choice by saying his girlfriend thought it was funny. Like his girlfriend was the representative of all women, and him saying that is like a racist saying, “I have a black friend”. He should’ve just said he was sorry and some wouldn’t forgive, but we’re all human and we make mistakes. Since then he really has played the victim like a champ, forgetting it was his dumb mouth and inability to apologize that put him there. Continuing to push him out seems extreme for just those comments mentioned, but that’s up to people to decide. We do have free speech, but not free of consequence.
I'd never heard of him and found this vid while tryna look up what he's done. I get the very strong impression he holds some very typical bigoted conservative opinions that sometimes slip out in these little insult tweets where he calls people babies or makes fun of Kaepernick. I think he's smart enough not to voice his true opinions too publicly but he's good at backpedaling and making it look like he's just an intellectual with a "different opinion". It all comes back to the base fact that "conservatives" are in the same pool as neo Nazis, Klansmen, religious extremists, etc here in the United States and putting yourself anywhere near those people politically is a bad look
True. But it felt like that was one of the last big public silent protests. After that was ignored and George Floyd was killed it all REALLY kicked off.
I just watched one of those Reddit vids and it was about (atrocious) things famous people have done, yet were still famous/forgiven. Chris Brown was a story I never heard the full details of.
I appreciate the video, but I would disagree with the point that it's best to ignore things you find obnoxious. Personally I worry that *too many people* doing that is one big reason political correctness seems to be getting worse. And I think the ideal position, if you have the energy for it, is to normalize the less-represented side of the discussion. In my view, the only thing Colin is doing wrong is being too emotional in his reactions. It would be best to be as calm and rational as possible, and he 'loses his cool' to some extent.
I love this video! As a fan of KFG in recent years and a new listener to Sacred Symbols, I was genuinely confused, and this helped out some. I find Colin says a lot of very intelligent, balanced things on SS, but also flies off the handle about subjects he thinks he knows well, but actually knows fuck-all about. He rails about Communism but fails to see that it's commonly the refuge from Imperialism - such as in Vietnam, where the US went to "war" because of French imperialism. I'm not saying communism WORKS - but Ho Chi Minh was literally a hero to the people of their country - he's like their George Washington. He wrote passionately about the people of Vietnam forming their own government free of outside influences. But to Colin, communism is just a bogeyman. He stops being thoughtful and just slings insults. It's weird.
I feel like Colin is just a troll that likes to stir the pot, but then can't handle the backlash and then becomes the perpetual victim and then milks his audience for sympathy and money. I have often said that the way he left Kinda Funny was almost premeditated because he didn't get his way when they decided to combine with RT and thought it was his best way to make a quick buck while also getting his percentage of the company fully paid out to him. I often think people overestimate his actual intelligence because he puts on a façade that he is a well balanced intellectual but all he does is troll and shit post on twitter and then has a cry about being cancelled while sharing a link to his patreon.
Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you. He’s very articulate, which makes him appear clever. But so is Ben Shapiro. And besides his vocabulary there’s nothing clever about him. Might be a similar case with Colin. Maybe we all overestimate his intellect.
I know its hard to understand that someone can express their opinion while being sarcastic at the same time. But I don't think he is acting out of bad faith like you seem to be accusing him of. I also don't think his fanbase grew because of him crying and posting patreon links. Its only because he has one of the very few podcasts that doesn't act smiling and ingratiating for review codes and corporate sponsorships.
@@Noprojects2b he left claiming he wasn't interested in gaming or creating gaming content, when his "history" channel started to die is when he started up a gaming channel. Before accusing me of not understanding sarcasm... Perhaps get your facts straight.
@@subculturenz I'm still not sure what you are trying to say. His history channel venture didn't really fail. He talked about it on his podcast with David Jaffe. Of course he came back to Gaming, which he excels at. My original point still stands.
Listening to Colin talk about politics as someone involved in politics is like watching a medical drama with a doctor, or a war movie with a soldier, or a law movie with a lawyer. There's so many things he says that sound true or logical that hold zero water if you have more than a surface level understanding of the topic. Knoll's Law helps with understanding this phenomenon
Oddly Colin shields his audience from or at least doesn't complain to his audience about most of the attacks he faces from within the industry. Occasionally he pulls back the curtain (Bob Mackey). The interesting part is some of the male feminists in the legacy games media end up themselves accused of the very abuse they proclaim to oppose. In addition, those who claim to oppose modern imaginary WWII bad guys they themselves have revealed themselves to be quite anti-semitic especially recently. Unfortunately you're suggesting a reason based strategy for dealing with an emotionally driven hive mind.
Wow, I figured it would have already been brought up in the comments, but it hasn't been mentioned yet. Gamer Gate. Iirc, somehow Colin got mixed up in all that BS, and he wasn't on the "right" side. Since then, a certain group of people declared war on him..idk maybe after all these years of interacting with the hard left he realized that there's nothing anyone can do about that bunch. It doesn't matter how you speak to them, if you try to be respectful and kind and compassionate, sympathetic or empathetic, it doesn't matter to them. You can't win in a world that let's them make up the rules as they go on. Only Colin can answer the questions in this video, but idk, maybe he's sick and tired of political correctness, and the fact that he had to watch the industry that he, himself, helped build, only for it to be swallowed whole by pc culture. and that no artist in America right now has complete artistic freedom like they did a decade ago. It was a good video, btw.
Does it really matter tho ? good art only comes from lefties , Conservatives but definition can't create. Some of the modern classics like Undertale or Celeste are very liberal... And Disco Elysium one of the best rpgs of all time is made by literal marxists
Him saying Chris isn't even white is a dumb point, he's white passing, I wouldn't have ever known he's Puerto Rican if he didn't bring it up so much. I'm a fan of both of them, but using Chris as his free pass for not being racist is dumb.
Edgy humor is the best humor. I wish comedy could be offensive again. I wish games could be games again. I wish movies could be adventures again. Awful movements NEVER come from free speech. They don't come from offensive humor. They don't come from entertainment. They ALWAYS spawn from censorship. They _ALWAYS_ spawn from self-righteous authoritarians.
Please explain how are you being censored. You can tell an edgy joke. You can make a video game. But you can't force people to like you. It's freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences. If you tell an edgy joke and no one likes it, probably just wasn't funny.
This is mostly just tone policing dude. It's just pointless because it's way too subjective and doesn't necessarily connect with any underlying principle. You can support something genuinely horrific in a polite manner, or you can support something completely reasonable and moderate but in an aggressive and rude manner. This kind of analysis allows really bad actors to essentially get under your radar by simply dressing their agenda up in the right terminology and euphemism.
@@TheSneezingMonkey Who, Colin? No I don't think he's a bad actor at all. I'm saying your analysis was giving too much credence to his critics by focusing on tone more than it should. Tone is not a good guide for anything really.
Colin is being completely normal. Ask yourself “if this was 2010 would you even have made this video” we are all sick of are franchises being destroyed by snowflakes and more have to speak out. Why should the American extreme far left destroy are freedom of speech and censor everything. One point you missed is Colin is under fire every single day and sometimes even the best of us would snap. You yourself seem in at least some level that you support cancel culture? So to sum it up, we need more people speaking out about this because it’s so bad even top comedians have said comedy is dead because of cc
I don't think you know how freedom of speech works. You are not being censored. People can say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean you are free of the consequences. If you tell your boss they're stupid, you'll get fired. It's simple. He expressed his views and people who disagree stopped doing business with him. He wasn't censored, he still has a podcast. 🤷♂️
I forgot to comment about the hilarity surrounding the people who are threatened by cancel culture. I respect the creative vision and am a purist. You want to call people babies when they don't support you. The people Colin offends wont support Colin so enough said. You can't expect anyone with empathy and care for others to support you either. Labeling this "cancel culture" is calling for a war on the public. You can make whatever you want but don't expect the people you alienate to support you. The rich isn't watching your videos. The majority are normal people with struggles. No one with hate will win in the entertainment business so get out or find new fans.
Thats what he did. I think your point is completely moot because it omits the fact that he does indeed have fans but most people in and around gaming establishment has been afraid to even have a conversation with him, not for the fact that they hate him but they are afraid that simply associating with him will earn the ire of many gaming journalists and the negative press that follows. I'm not sure of the creative vision and purist point. He was not a game creator back then. He is just a writer who expresses his opinions. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't he express his opinions if he is a purist.
@@Noprojects2b That's what I said. He can do what he wants. If you re-read what I said "No one with hate will succeed in the business" (essentially). He wants to be able to be a prick and still get people to support his rhetoric. He can appeal to his sub category of fans that share his opinion. There is nothing stopping him. The business however includes a vast audience that far surpasses his small bias. Why would anyone want to risk their audience? Or moreover maybe they truly don't represent what he thinks. That's his problem. There will always be people who support that trash rhetoric. Reason why we had a nazi for a president but why do people whine about the people who castrate their scope of success when they clearly don't like the world? He will forever have a chip on his shoulder and be miserable. person.
Dude, these people aren’t interested in intellectual discussions or debate. There is no reason, or obligation, to be kind to these people. They would cancel you in a blink. So yes, I wish more folks would address these censorship apologists and cancel culture trash folk the way Collin does.
I didn’t think the joke was funny at all (not that I was offended, I just thought there was no cleverness about the joke whatsoever) but the negative reaction was indeed incredibly overblown. It was a bad joke- call it that, and move on. Don’t try to paint him as a Nazi all of a sudden.
I agree with Henree. It wasn’t worth the reaction. And while the reaction itself was amusing at the time, the tweet itself wasn’t really funny or clever. But I don’t think it was intended to be. It was just a semi funny tweet. I don’t think he even remotely expected that reaction.
Yes because the right can take jokes? I'm not from America and don't consider myself Left or Right but it looks like same shit different toilet from the outside looking in at both American parties.
I think you're right that Colin could be more tactful and let things go, but I think you're a little over-critical on the points he's communicating. Colin Kaepernick is a communist-sympathizer that idolizes Fidel Castro. Colin's point was right that Colin Kaepernick shouldn't be respected as a commenter on oppression. Using humor to make that point is actually great in my opinion. On the last point, Andy Ngo is a journalist and is definitely not a fascist or deserving of being assaulted. Colin rightfully pointed out the Antifa use fascist tactics, and that beating up press/journalists is completely unacceptable. Your points on that honestly came across as victim-blaming, saying that Andy Ngo shouldn't have been surprised at being punched. Anyway, thanks for the thoughtful summary - you brought up a lot of good points and succinctly summarized where the hate for Colin comes from, while also showing that it's totally unreasonable.
I feel like your second point about Andy ngo totally invalidates your post since he is undeniably a facist and not a jounarlist but i'll bite anyway. You do know thay Fidel Castro was one of the only allies Nelson Mandela had to end apartheid in south africa right ? Mandela had nothing but good things to say about him so why wouldnt Koapernick like him? Castro is and important figure in the story of the black liberation

I just miss Colin bullying Kevin, feels bad that we probably won't see them on screen together again:(

There was no sacred symbols at the beggining of colin's last stand.
-Third , you keep saying he has the highest gaming patreon podcast...
Which
1)Means he has a dedicated audience but that audience is clearly not that big, when you thinl about the most influential game content creators no one things about Colin Moriarty
2)Part of that has to do with Chris Ray Gun a much bigger youtuber being part of the show.
@@Z50nemesis so you think deep down he really doesn't want to do anything games related?
@@surobura Yes , In the last 2 years of KF he was already tired of gaming
I like your vids, guy. Youre really considerate in regards to understanding where all sides are coming from.
Thanks. I try.
@@TheSneezingMonkey I second the notion. I've followed Colin's career and have met him several times. This is a detailed and fair assessment.

Same! I’m guessing she just mass-blocked followers of people she disagrees with, which is incredibly sad. Genuinely hope she gets some help.
Colins a good guy. People don't like him because his views don't line up 100% with theirs.
Or cause he is kinda of a toxic dick , compare post collin greg to collin era greg
Good video. Quick thought. If someone went through every somewhat controversial thing you said on twitter over several years and strung them back to back it might give an unfair view of that person.
People are a mix of bad and good. You have to view them as a whole. Context is important. We should all strive to be better.

My issue with Colin has always been his hypocrisy & acting like a victim. I got sick of it after a while and bounced. Not his politics.
Yup totally. His political takes are pretty cringe too, but that is the main thing for sure.
Pretty hard to not act like a victim when you are targeted in that way. I for me would not be able to be that strong.

Hey thanks Elim. That’s a very nice compliment. Glad you’re enjoying the content.
@@TheSneezingMonkey No problem man. Thanks for making good intelligent content.
And the Chick-fil-A thing is such a cop out for him.
I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.
Dude, greeeat video. I really appreciate your work on this! Very informative.
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it.
While that statements bad I hardly think thats worth deplatforming him.
I agree.

@@JohnFick that's not true at all . . . Colin has spoken on occasion how he's tried to reach out to Greg and he's just been ignored but okay

Colin is incredibly well informed when it comes to US history and surrounding politics. i always respect his views even though i may not agree with him at every turn, he has always provided logic to his reasoning. Thanks for the feedback Andrew. I’m glad you took something useful away from the video.
Things is they don't need ammunition =/
I don’t care about what he did or said.. I just personally don’t care for his personality in general. He acts very “know it all” and “my opinion is the best opinion” and just very bossy and a little bit condescending in general with his tone, like he thinks he’s the shit.
Someone pointed out that that’s kinda a ‘long island New York’ thing. And that many ppl from there have a similar attitude.

I’m sure they’ve had plenty of conversations about it where he did less talking and more listening over the years. They’re brothers.

Your in love lol

But I know older people who think the same way
and can't accept change or think everyone is soft because people are more offended today then they were back then. As a black man the same thing could be said about Dave Chappelle like his jokes in his old shows and Sets are funny but wouldn't fly nowadays due to how sensitive society is. So I get Colin but he makes it hard to defend him when he's constantly speaking on these kinds of topics
You did a really great job analyzing the issue and remaining impartial. Thanks for putting this together.
HAIL COLIN!
@Ronin00 Anyone can say or do things that inspire. Your status in society or job title do not determine this, only the scope in which it is possible.

@Ronin00 Not really controversial...
The right word would be comical .
People mock him for it even to this day
The man wants to work in entertainment but preaches his political ideology.
I definitely disagree with Colin's politics and there was that tweet that basically said because Asians are doing good then there's no racism
Colin blocked me on twitter for saying " inside job"
Nice vid. I enjoy Colins content. I would like him to see this video.
lmfaoooo ..... why do ppl hate him... then gives all the perfect examples why.... lol and im only 15 min in... hahahaha
I agree with you, he should let these people lead the narrative and never comment on any political issues.
Why should colin be himself. He should listen to this assholes list of appropriate behavior
Interesting infos I didn’t know. Thanks for sharing.
I just got banned on Resetera cause I answered "Moriarty", just that word, on a topic asking for people on the video-game media you like
Absolutely ridiculous
One disagreement.
Colin is more libertarian than conservative.
I think his fanbase is the reason why he gets hate. I’ve never really heard him say anything awful, but the people who stan him are hyenas lmfao
This is why he a Greg part ways....Greg's is a hard-core liberal. He didn't like what he would or stand for, so they part ways
Fantastic video *subscribed* I really dig the research you did and such a refreshing take
Thanks. Much appreciated.
I'm sure Greg miller's liberal thinking made him not want his roommate get to him which is sad because he ain't open
The only thing i see happening if xbox buys take2 is that xbox will organically gain 150 million new subscribers
Just posting to say Colin Moriarty is married to a black girl.
BLM started before the Kaepernick stuff though.
It’s funny you say that. Because I saw a similar Reddit thread a while ago and thought about making a video on it.
OK, but if they try to cancel you, that's going too far.
How? That's freedom, America. They are free to express themselves, and everyone else is free to not do business with someone they don't like. 🤷♂️
Because people are narrow minded?
Start tweeting WarHorse Studios if you want a game you can play as a Crusader.
Are you British German?
I’m a german, living in Britain for many years. So …yes.
@@TheSneezingMonkey ye, cause your accent seems germanish :D
Him saying Chris isn't even white is a dumb point, he's white passing, I wouldn't have ever known he's Puerto Rican if he didn't bring it up so much.
I'm a fan of both of them, but using Chris as his free pass for not being racist is dumb.
agreed. But what’s he gonna say….if he has no other friends of colour? Probably all his friends are white as toast. Which is kinda revealing as well…
@@TheSneezingMonkey he brings up the fact his girlfriend is black every once in a while haha
Dad jokes arent edgy jokes lol
So you’re saying he’s a ‘really bad actor’ and with my ‘forgiving’ analysis I allow him to be just that? I’m just trying to understand.
@@TheSneezingMonkey Who, Colin? No I don't think he's a bad actor at all. I'm saying your analysis was giving too much credence to his critics by focusing on tone more than it should. Tone is not a good guide for anything really.
I see. Got it. Thanks for the feedback.
The answer in three words: The far left.
I'm Hooked on Last Stand Media been a patreon for about 6 months don't regret it amazing content.
He will forever have a chip on his shoulder and be miserable. person.
He’s conservative that’s all it takes bro

Dude, these people aren’t interested in intellectual discussions or debate. There is no reason, or obligation, to be kind to these people. They would cancel you in a blink. So yes, I wish more folks would address these censorship apologists and cancel culture trash folk the way Collin does.
that womens day tweet was hilairous!!lmao..the left cant take a joke
Because he's a cringe libertarian, it's not that complicated.
Andy Ngo got "severe brain trauma" , and was on Joe Rogan the next day... Definitely not a grift...
