    Have you ever tried to play the Hee Haw classic "Where, oh where are you tonight?" . I can't find the right timing. I think it is either 3/4 or 6/8. It seems rather simple to play with a pluck followed by two quick up strokes by the I finger.

    • @LaurenBateman
      @LaurenBateman  2 года назад

      Hi Tim, I have not tried to play that song no. If it feels like you can sway to the music, it’s probably 3/4 or 6/8

    Lauren, Paul wrote that song about his girlfriend Cathy in England. There is even a plaque in Wildnes station in Merseyside commemorating the song. His follow up - America is about the final breakup with Cathy. I'm learning that one now. It's a basic four chord progression and you can use a capo to save the more complex barre chords, but has a few tricks like a riff using the penatonic scale. Listen to the live version over the studio version to pick up how Paul plays it. It will tie into this lesson.
    As always you are one great guitar teacher.

    Do you think you could do a lesson on When the Bradley Was Torn and Then Gone? It's a song about the night the Carl D. Bradley was wrecked, by Dan Hall, but I can't find the chords anywhere, and I don't know enough to be able to identify the chords used

    • @LaurenBateman
      @LaurenBateman  2 года назад +1

      Hi Misty, not sure I know that one. Will have to look into it.

    • @mistyjohnson8853
      @mistyjohnson8853 2 года назад

      My goodness, I wasn't expecting a response lol. Dan Hall isn't a very well known artist, so that's probably why. I have an innate love for sea shanties and shipwreck songs, so that's how I discovered him! Thank you for taking time out of your day to respond to me.
