Interesting! Getting lots of input/immersion is a great way to learn vocab too! Since the most frequent words will stick out like a sore thumb! KEEP IMMERSING!
I downloaded the first Harry Potter book in Korean to my phone and I'm gonna learn vocab through that, since i need more vocab to make actual sentences even though in a beginner so this will be fun
hey kali! since you've used the TTMIK workbooks I wanted to ask whether they're worth their price or not 🤔 i’m using ‘korean grammar in use’ to study grammar but I think I need some sort of workbook to practice with more exercises! thank you and btw I love your channel 🌻
Hi, i used TTMIK level 1 workbook about a year ago and i liked it. Since it's ment for self studying i found it very easy to understand, idk about higher levels tho since i'm taking classes irl now. They have some audio lessons for free so maybe check those out first and see if you like it
Question, when someone is knew to studying a language, do they start by learning how to read, write, or speak first? I’m asking this because I can read Korean but can’t write or speak it
depends on your goals, are you learning to go to a Korea school? Then I would learn to read first, then write, then practice speaking. I say this because in korean schools focus a lot on grammar and writing. but if your goal is to travel and just be able to communicate in Korea, then I would learn to read, and then get practice speaking, then you can learn to write later. Hope this helps :)
Personally, dont worry about output aka writing or speaking, just focus on getting lots of input first to build your comprehension + immersion/input based methods are wayyyy more fun!
Hey Kali! I love you and I love your work, however i just wanted to say : I notice that your videos are getting more and more 'professional' thanks to the upgrade of your equipment and your growing experience with editing, as well as the bigger sponsors you're now getting (which is great!) however please, do not lose yourself and your creativity in the process. I love your videos and vibes because they're unique, with all the colours and lil drawings you something include in your editing (especially your blogs) however, it seems that you're now adopting THE common video format of language learning videos, etc., which is sitting in front of the cam, using big white letters for video sections/topics, etc. It's minimalist and clear and nice but it's not what we're used to getting from you and it's just everywhere on youtube... hence please keep your creativity and your own brand, this is what we love in you and this is what attracts people now ♥ Thank you!
