i'm a very big procrastinator, like extreme procrastination but this is personally how i study korean.. i study for 25 or thirty minutes☺️!! i keep my phone away from me but have my krnb playlist playing on my speaker or just in the background, if music is too distracting for me that day i put on my tv on one of the lowest volumes because i can't study in silence; it just ends up with me watching netflix or doing absolutely anything besides studying. i study everyday, i've tried studying every other day and i just ended up not studying for days because i got too use to it. i listen to korean music everyday anyways, but if i really don't feel like studying with my notes i just watch a kdrama or study the lyrics from one of my favorite kpop songs while laying in bed,, it doesn't even feel like studying that way! thankyuu for these tips too, i will definitely follow some of them🤍🤍 i also hope i could help my fellow procrastinators! don't give up, i promise it's gonna be worth it when we're fluent in korean :)
I think my main problem is motivation, it’s like I’ll study for 30 minutes one day and then I won’t study at all for like a month. How can I stop this habit?
You're just not motivated enough, you are the only one who can fix this problem since other people can't give you motivation and dedication. It's up to you
Omg, I'm having the same problem, I started learning Korean last year, I would be a little fluent but I took like 4-5 month break (ik, long break😂) once I see it starts getting a little hard I'm not as motivated.
What helps me for studying is just studying when I’m open to it or when I feel like it. For example, we’re all in quarantine right now and I personally have a lot of things to do like practice clarinet, bass clarinet, work out, geometry, biology, Bible study, and Korean all throughout the summer. That looks super overwhelming at first but I promise you it’s actually doable. Since this is for Korean, I’ll focus on that. I personally went through a year or two of learning the best way to study for myself in general. What I can to the conclusion of is *I don’t pay attention to how much time I spend studying or specifically when I’m doing to study.* Why? One reason is because it burdens me and it actually makes me feel worse to set a specific time. My other reason is because I personally work better with learning *whole topics or ideas* rather than just studying for a specific amount of time. An example is this: I could study for two hours and start to get tired and distracted and feel as if I got nothing done. However, if I sit down and study and I go “okay, I want to understand this grammar structure” I don’t even think about how much time it takes.. I just do it (and it usually actually takes around 30-45 minutes). In short, I just do *quality over quantity* when I study. So, figure out what works best for you. Set small goals for yourself. If you are super lazy or good at procrastinating, think “I should do this now so I can be lazy later.” I promise you, that helped me a lot 😂. I used to be a complete mess a few weeks ago, but praise God he helped me 😊. Lastly, don’t beat yourself up for not studying for a day or two, it’s okay to skip it especially if you’re busy like me. I personally used to beat myself up and like cuss myself out when I didn’t study or if I didn’t practice my instruments (not healthy btw lol) and I used to feel just super bad about it which in return it actually made me do worse because I felt like studying even less because I was telling myself bad things. Anyway, I hoped this helped 😊
thank you from the bottom of my heart for speaking so calmly,, i was expecting those "HELLOOO GUYSSSS SO TODAY I'M GONNA TELL YOU-", so this made me really relaxed (especially because I have a headache rn) and you gave such good tips!
Heyy, plzz could you do a video about how you feel travelling around Korea alone as a solo traveller when you don't have plans. Also how did you meet friends in Korea. I want to travel to Korea alone but I'm scared to be alone especially when eating, shopping, exploring...etc
I'm a huge advocate for taking actual classes, not only is there structure and guidance, you are kinda force to study for it. It's not gonna be cheap or super expensive either, but it works if you can get to one. But the biggest thing is having like-minded people in the class who you can practice with and share this interest
Kami Renae if u like kpop, sounds kpop and later only study little, if u like drama the same thing. I'm sorry for the grammar bad. I'm Brazilian. I make this all my day for motivation.
Ugh thank you for this Keli! I have so much time now especially during quarantine and I started off strong with my korean lesson, but then fell off. I’ve been wanting to get back on track and this video was super helpful ❤️
안녕하세요! This video was recommended to me and I'm so glad I clicked on it. I was having trouble making a study guide/schedule but your tips gave me some good ideas 😁 감사합니다! 💜
On my break at work and am risking staying longer just to watch the video 😅 this is what I wondering, rethinking about my study schedule, thanks for uploading~
i use How to study Korean and I study a lesson less than an hour my only problem is taking notes because I write almost everything because I think that everything's important so it takes me hours or days to finish that lesson before moving to the next one do you think that's good/fine? and do you have any tips or suggestions? thank you!
grammar, vocab, irregular verbs, idk just like when you study a second language at school lol (ofc u need to start with the alphabet, reading, writing, pronunciation..)
try to do it in the morning or try apps like hellotalk (some ppl join kakotalk groups for studying kr) so you can practice and learn with natives.. lol im not even using it cause i’m too shy to do the first move but if you can then i think it’s a good option 😂
jeon jungfood I found a grammar book on online hoclai.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/korean-grammar-in-use-beginner.pdf. It’s really helpful. Just don’t copy everything. It will be too much.

ugh same, i be studying one time for like hours and loving it and then not touching my korean book for weeks on end
never EVER put yourself on a long schedule. ONLY EVER do about 10-30 minutes but remember to never go under 10 minutes
You're just not motivated enough, you are the only one who can fix this problem since other people can't give you motivation and dedication. It's up to you
same even me
I feel you 😐
haha lately I've been putting my lessons of, I'm not as motivated as I was when I started. I'm trying to get back on track.
