It is important to mention caffeine (coffee), video games, social networks. These are also addictions.

True I damaged my brain due to uncontrolled use of social media and playing video games. My will power is weak like hell now. And I can't do a thing. Wasted a lot of time and energy. And I have a huge depression and suffering from OCD(still on medication for OCD)
Everything like depression OCD increases after addiction.
If this continues I'll probably waste my life

@@sigmaswan2969 my recommendation will be, at least what I did because I was on therapy once: you need to change lifestyle. Go more outside to exercise, running is great, for example at least few times per week about 30 minutes, or you can go biking. If you have nature somewhere close to your home, it is important to absorb sunshine, to deep breathe fresh air and watch in green treetops or grass. Reduce sugary foods and coffee. I only drink coffee after I wake up. Green tea is super solution around 2PM. Drink a lot of water. Watch some of your favorite humorous series, because that reduce stress and relax the body and nerves. Don't watch at any screens at night few hours before going to sleep. Talk with your friends about things that bother you or make you angry. Don't keep it to yourself. Make your life more easy and moderate. And the last thing, I mean this one is optional, but it helps me. If you aren't atheist and if you are Christian, go to Church as often you can and honestly preach and confess. I can say I was on medications since 2019. untill March this year, and now I feel much better than before. I just decide not to take medications any more. The doctor still said you'll have it on paper if you'll need it, just in case. But till then I only take for few nights some sedatives when I wasn't able to sleep because of some stressful day which rarely happened. Good luck!

@@sigmaswan2969 yes, why not. You're welcome! I suffered and had similar problems with nerves, or as they say, mental disorders. I want to share my experience in solving it and I'm glad if that could help to someone, although we are all different. Try not to make changes too quickly and sudden, but more gradually one by one.

i have a friend who use to abuse mdma, speed and 2cb. she still smokes weed and drinks alcohol but she has stopped doing those dangerous drugs. i sometimes wish she wouldn't even touch alcohol and weed again because her brain has got fucked up bc of drugs and so have her lungs from smoking weed and nicotine as well.. i sometimes worry for her, but im sure she'll be fine

@@ironboyjunior8509 I would just be there for her. Trying to get her to quit the alcohol and weed will only make her resent you (besides you said she was only smoked three times a week so I wouldn't worry too much). Ask her how her day was, go out for coffee, and just be a friend for her. That will go a lot further than trying to help her because people can really only help themselves.

There's no such thing as a "Dangerous Drug," there are only dangerous people. A distinct set of chemical compounds won't kill you if taken properly. Drug's like these have been around for centuries, and to just simply dogmatize them because of a few bad apples would be ridiculous. Think of all the drugs that scientists aren't even allowed to study because of their rank on the schedule compounds, and what effects and changes that could bring to our world. There's life changing MDMA, Ketamine, and Psilocybin therapy happening as we speak through M.A.P.S right now. The Evil people are the ones who cut drugs with more intense compounds for greater effect/addiction. That is how 99% of people OD. Some people cut their batches with Fentanyl, which is a significantly strong Opioid, of which the dosage is significantly smaller than whatever would be compound you're planning to take.
I would make the argument that Alcohol is one of the worst drugs out on the market. It's one of the only drugs in the world in which the withdrawal alone can kill you.

Quite a few years ago there was a BBC lunchtime news feature on a trial to cure chemical addiction. It was reported to be +90% effective in the trials so far.
It worked by measuring the frequency of the drug and then passing electrical current of the same frequency through 2 electrodes the patient held in their hands.
This caused the body to quickly start to excrete the substance out through the skins pores.
The clinic room even had an en-suite shower to wash it all off.
I forgot all about it for years and now can find no mention of it on the net.
I wish I had recorded it but I had missed the very start of the feature and thought I’ll just record the evening news and get the whole thing. It wasn’t on the evening news however.

"Addiction is not due to weakness, or a lack of will power." Why do addictive substances affect people differently? I had a couple of surgeries a few years ago, took opioids to handle the pain. When the pain was tolerable, I stopped.Taking the pain meds felt really great, but I also knew in my mind thru common sense that I couldn't take them forever without negative effects. Why was I not "hooked?" Please advise.

    • @muhammadfarhan3341
      @muhammadfarhan3341 2 года назад +2

This is more of a psychological thing. You stopped after the drug did its purpose and was no longer necessary, even if it felt great. Many people, who are addicted to pain killer or opoids, don't stop at that phase due to a different mindset such as "it feels soo good, I'll continue to take it". Then starts the addiction.
Its great that you stopped before it was too late, but as the video states, its not a lack of willpower or anything. You approached the drug and viewed it as it was prescribed to you: a drug that will make the pain more tolerable. Addicts view the drug through a different light: a means of earning happiness and that "high" that, although lasts for temporary moments, gives them a great deal of satisfaction.
I hope you understand now. Godspeed to ya.
