We love doing these old songs! Please take a look at our twice-weekly requests programme where we get to do many many more with interesting old instruments: ruclips.net/user/patriciahammondsongsvideos
Not as much as I love listening to them. Thank for your continuous effort and for bringing light into our lives.
Pretty dress. I like it when you do historical songs and music. Very entertaining. Good camera work.
Thank you Jeannine! My husband filmed this gig when we were just friends...and, well, he's my husband now!!!
Almost nothing brings the roaring twenties to life as does this great song! May it last another century!
Well, after years of listening to this exact recording, I finally went and got myself a tenor banjo and have been playing along to this for a while now
And I owe it all to this video
That's amazing!! Wow!!
100 years old in 2020! Hard to believe and still a great song!
Cool and nice .
So great to see the music of the 1920's and 30's still being performed today!
Absolutely fabulous - brings a smile to my face. Gorgeous lady, beautiful voice, great band
Great band but the singer comes off 2nd best
@@neville132bbk Oh I must disagree!
Owns. It's good to hear an uptempo version of this song.
A perfect song by a talented canary and never ever out of date.
Wow! And you even have the tuba! I love the tuba in the old records. It's what makes the sound. I made sure I used the tuba in the 20s portion of my show. Great job again!
5 stars! Annette Henshaw lives!
WOW..haven't heard this song.in well over 60 years!!+
Such a cool song despite being 100 yrs old. Trying to look for the sheet music to this song.
It's here! Enjoy! content.lib.auburn.edu/cdm/ref/collection/pianobench/id/445
Terrific; idiomatic faithful. Love it!
The courage it took to make this performance in this day
💕 it ! How about “I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts?” Merv Griffin?👍
Would love to!
Her voice is perfect!!!
You just taken me back to playing my mothers old gramophone in the early fifties she had this song amongst her records.
Where are those pork pie hats now that we need them, by Gawd !!??
Every time I watch this -- and I watched this quite a number of times -- it makes me grin ear-to-ear. The song is of course an early radio days classic, but this performance? Love it.
Also Jambalaya-Brenda Lee👍
Yessssss love this! Would be so fun to see live!
This is marvelous! Thank you, from Massachusetts, USA!
Amazing
Way cool! Neat old grand piano. Thanks.
Would love to see it live! Amazing job
Alas there is not much live going on right now! But we do have a twice-weekly upload of requests from our living room which we film live...do have a look on the channel!
Excellent entertainment, quality and presentation -- Full marks!
Your presentations are always so enjoyable, the perfect antidote to the modern life's news and stresses. Thank you again for your work!
That's some great clarinet playing. :-D
fantastic !!!
Excellent !
Was this also written by Ray Noble? If so this Brit could almost give Berlin for the money. Both of them had a a wonderful feel for melody and their lyrics. . .. You're my winter, summer, spring is right up there with . . . I'll be loving you not just for an hour, not for a day, not for a year but always.
OH GOOD LORD
I'm always so surprised at the musical acumen and beauty of the songs from the 20s
Who is the Sousaphone player? He's fantastic!!!
His name is Dickie Evans www.musicteachers.co.uk/teacher/ed92f80e8029e6fb6cee
Super!! Now take a listen to Felix Mendelssohn and Hawaiian Serenaders version.
I know it well!
cool !!!

Really good, but the instruments are drowning out the words.
Yeah the sound man sort of set up, and then disappeared completely. We did the best we could in the circs but I agree.
Your lovely voice overcome my dear! Mike Hunstanton x
Superb! (But poor camerawork fails to focus on soloists.)
It was a crazy night with no plan! Sound man absent, poor camera guys with no idea what we were going to do...so glad we have a record of the event though!
0:31 What is that? 😞
It's a slide whistle, also known as a swanee whistle. Great fun.
@@patriciahammondsongs I owe you one! 💖
Is that really z 20 s
The music was great. I found the tune in my Hal Leonard fake book and hadda have a look. However, the videographer was an idiot. You're supposed to focus on the leading improvisationist, and he missed all but a hazy piano.
Really glad that this version prompted a look at the music! This is the best accolade! I have to stick up for the poor film maker...it wasn't planned to film it, and the band didn't particularly want him on stage so he was trying to be discreet and hidden. VERY awkward angles and an enormous camera. He was so nice to do it for me for nothing on the hottest night of the year, and I'm so glad to have a record of this concert from less than ideal circumstances.
@@patriciahammondsongs Well that explains it. Maybe he'd like to redeem his reputation and re-shoot a more "staged" video.
0:24 What is that?
It's a flexatone: www.soundtravels.co.uk/p-Flexatone__Small-1597.aspx? Love your username!
@@patriciahammondsongs Thanks, yo! Also, great performance. I probably should have mentioned that.
Imagine a speakeasy.
Can't find a MALE vocal of this wonderful hit.
Why is that?
Lefty Political Correctness!!!

Here is a recording of this song by a lefty politically correct male: ruclips.net/video/NpfJJ5QMo4Y/видео.html
Video is very amateurish, music is great, singer better than average.
Greasing, great performance.
fantastic !
