- Here's the first tutorial in the Landscape in Colored Pencil series. In this one I'll show you how to draw some rocks.
I used a Fabriano paper primed with Liquitex clear gesso and worked on top of it with Polychromos pencils.

Thank-you so much for this excellent tutorial. I've been looking forever for exactly this kind of demonstration, and finally found it. With much practice of your tehniques, I hope I can achieve something I'm happy with.
Thank you for sharing your amazing talent! You make it look so easy! I can see I will need a lot of practice, but now I have a starting point.

Incredible. Thank you!
This tutorial is superb! Thanks so much Miroslav. I have learnt so much from you. Started drawing with polychrome pencils recently and it’s very satisfying (yet hard some times to blend..) big ❤
Excellent tutorial
super helpful thankyou!
Great tutorial! Thank you!
well laid out and narrated.
Thank you. Sometimes the editing part is longer than the drawing process ;:)
Very interesting 👏🎨🖌💜
great tutorial.
A new subscriber here & just loving watching your tutorials. I’m going through your list of videos but wondering, do you have any that show how to achieve a glow effect like as a glow of a candle set against a dark / black background ? If you do, can you let me know which video it may be, but if you don’t have one, would you possibly consider doing one, if that’s not too much trouble…😊
Sembrano vere. Bravissimo.
Very nice!!
Awesome show..
It was great, thank you!
2 words.... holy crap.
I begin to think, that my White Polychromos, is not the same as any other I've seen on RUclips. Mine is so hard and so transparent, that never shoed any white at all. It only burnishes like a bad blender.
Can anybody help on that? I would really appriciate and y advice that would solve my problem. Maybe get a white from a different maker? if yes, which one is going to work with Polychromos? Merry Christmas!!!
Polychromos is an oil based pencil. Oil based pencils are harder so lighter colors tend to require more layers to appear/blend well. If you only use your white pencil for small areas such as highlights, a wax based (softer core) white pencil may work better for you. I use the white pencil from Caran d'Ashe Luminance as that series is wax based. Quite a few artists also use the white from Prismacolor, which is also wax based and it has a lower price point.
The exception to all of this is using the sanded paper as he suggests. My polychromos white shows up with no problem on sanded paper. I happen to prefer LuxArchival paper from Brush & Pencil, but I also had good results with Pastelmat and straight sanded paper from the hardware store. The latter is far cheaper if you want to just try it first to see if it works for your style.
Hope this helps!
@@kityac9810 Thanks a lot for all the feedback, I really appreciate it, it helps a lot!!
Odlično 🙂
Great and helpful. Now, what is that blending tool and where can I get it?
I figured he must be referring to a "Tortillon", aka just a blending stump
Please can you explain about sand paper? It's in underneath your your paper or it's kind of colouring paper?
To make sanded paper apply the clear gesso primer on your paper. You can also buy sandpaper. Just go to a hardware store and ask for a 1000 grit sandpaper.
:)
Can you please say which instruments do you use ?
I tslk about it in the video.
Can I get a rock and stone?
