How to Draw Waves - Landscape in Colored Pencil

Here's the fifth tutorial in the Landscape in Colored Pencil series. In this one I'll show you how to draw waves.
I used a Fabriano paper primed with Liquitex clear gesso and worked on top of it with Polychromos pencils.

Ive been drawing since i was in 6th grade. Im 62. 2 years ago i had a stroke. Its only now that im able to start drawing again. Its slow going. I cant draw what I picture . I ve started trying to draw from photos. I drop the pencil, I dont even feel it slip I just hear it hit the floor. (Definitely not good for my good pencil sets) I found your videos. This one is perfect. My daughter loves seascapes. Im going to search to see if there are more videos.

Thank you! When you said you sanded the surface, did you sand the tooth of the paper down? Also, when you put a clear gesso on the paper, was it a regular paint gesso? It sounds like that would flatten all the tooth of the paper. But the technique sounds news to me.

Sanded paper as in the surface is very much like actual sandpaper. Clear gesso creates lots of tooth.
