    My eyes just watered a bit at the end of this. I've wanted an X-Pro2 for many years and I decided to watch some of your older videos again, almost like catching up with an old friend. I've always enjoyed photography, but you have always been a massive reason that I love it. Your photo critiques with Samuel, your "serious damage with these 3 lenses" video, your photo walks, your educational content, your connection with your brother (and hilarious strap holding technique debate lol) your confidence, yet humble kindness you exude while talking to us. All this to say truly are missed in this space, and I hope life is treating you, and yours well. And please, for the love of all things good in this world my virtual friend... drop us a line sometime, and remind the RUclips community of the joy, and romance, that a simple camera, a great dude, and a chill video can bring to someone/anyone who's watching your content. Today, after owning many cameras over the years, I am finally the official owner of a camera that has eluded me for many years, the Fujifilm X-Pro2. So I thought I'd stop by and say hello, and thank you.

    Nice video man thank you. I prefer to set ISO to front dial and have the front button on the x100F for “back button” focusing when in manual focus but that is the cool thing about these cameras and the Ricoh GR that they are totally customisable. I’ll have to try the zone focusing you spoke about as I haven’t tried that approach. Cheers

      Noted Chris! I'll be making some videos putting the settings into practice while shooting street. Black Pro-Mist is a lens filter that adds a subtle amount of haze to your image. It helps take away the sharpness making it look more like film. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. One thing I didn’t quite understand is you mentioned you weren’t going to share you curve settings. What does that mean in terms of camera settings? I’m familiar with that is respect to Lightroom, but not in camera. Bought a x pro2 today, can’t wait to take it to the streets.

      My apologies for not being clear. In the Quck Settings menu you can add more contrast to your shadows, highlights and sharpness. I tend to shoot my B&W in camera with a +2 Shadows +1 Highlights +3 sharpness this will give you a really nice high contrast look. I don't use these files in the end because I like to process them later but it will definitely put you in the mood to shoot.

    • @Stockezy

      Thanks for the feedback brother. I use Capture One Pro. They're partnered with Fuji now and handle the files beautifully. You can even tether and control the camera in app.

      @@rafarmand capture one pro cost more because it works with all cameras if you want to tether. They have stand alone apps for Sony and Fujifilm if you don't plan on using other cameras models. Those version cost a bit cheaper too.

    • @Stockezy

      If you hold the Back button long enough you can program any button to whatever you like. I use that front button where the evf/ovf toggle is located.

    Shutter mode on front button is a good idea for silent places, thanks for the video. btw you dont have to program the fn button for wireless, I guess it works as wifi button in playback mode and works as programmed on shooting mode. can you check on 100f, It is like that on my pro2

    Hey, cool video. Not sure if I missed it, but what's your minimum shutter speed on the auto ISO modes? Thanks!

    • @Stockezy
      @Stockezy  6 лет назад +1

      Glad you asked because I clearly forgot to mention that in the video. I always keep my base ISO at 200. If you decide to set your ISO this low you have to remember to set your minimum shutter speed higher depending on what you're shooting. When I am on the move shooting in the streets I set my min shutter to 1/500. If you don't do this and leave it at the default 1/60 the camera will treat having a lower ISO as the priority and dip your shutter speed to properly expose the image. This is why I shoot Higher ISO's in the daytime because I want to keep my shutter speed as fast as possible even when I am shooting at F8.

    • @DrDryce
      @DrDryce 6 лет назад

      Stockezy thanks for the reply! With such high minimum shutter speed and at F8 , don’t most of your photos get exposed with an average of 800 iso or higher? What I noticed is that the camera while in aperture priority and auto iso, will always aim to reach the minimum shutter speed you selected. If is not able to meet your minimum shutter speed..then it will start to increase the iso until that happens. You can then keep a low iso only if you lower your F stop number.

    • @Stockezy
      @Stockezy  6 лет назад +1

      That is correct. For me, ISO 200-1600 grain is completely tolerable. It's more important that my shutter speed remains fast than my ISO low but that just becomes a style preference. I also don't always shoot at f8 and spend most of my time in high contrast areas which rarely result in anything over 800 ISO. I like hard shadows and I underexpose a lot to crush the blacks.

      Hey Paul, I have updated the software on the XPro, but I haven't tethered with it. If I tether it's usually with the XT2 since I already own that cable. The best thing about the XPro update is the 4K video though. I've tried that out a bunch.

    Nice video! Do you have any tips on zone focusing with the x100f, or do you strictly just use the autofocus settings?

    • @Stockezy
      @Stockezy  6 лет назад

      I don't zone focus too much but when I do I like to set the zone scale to feet and when you swtich to manual focus, there is a blue bar telling you the zone (in meters or feet) of acceptable sharpness. It's a really great feature when zone focusing but I'm sure you know that one already.

    Can you please explain to me how to zone focus with the X100f?

    • @Stockezy
      @Stockezy  6 лет назад

      If you switch your camera into manual, set your aperture to f8-f16 you'll notice a blue bar that pops up on the bottom of the screen. You can switch this from meters to feet if you like. This blue bar indicates your zone of acceptable sharpness and as you close down your aperture that blue bar will extend.
