- My personal views on the wolverine skid steer 72" brush cutter. From grass, to brush, to trees, it will CUT! I walk around and show the attachment as well as all the pros and cons in the real world. I don't "CUT" this thing any slack! IT WILL CUT! Look below for the parts lists for the blade upgrades for this machine!
-12 spline pan hub 1.5" diameter hub at 13.5"hole to hole fits 40HP gear box 20.25" pan diameter part # 89742
-blade bolt kit x 2 part # 49327
- 30"x4"x.5" x2 blades part # 36058
ENJOY
The rotary cutter is a great skid steer attachment. I built my first one in the early 90's. You can get in places a tractor would never dream of going in!
So far it’s proven to be the my most popular attachment. It works great and even on our farm serves great use around fences and pastures we can’t normally get.
You can keep fence lines free of growth without using dangerous herbicides. @@3DClearing23
Yes I switched them at the pump. You have to watch there is a bypass valve that connects the two hoses together that relives pressure to the return if something happens. Maybe the way you switched them caused that to be flowing backwards or something. But I know I switched mine on both cutters I’ve owned and it worked fine.
Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. That small hose was exactly what I was unsure of. I will switch them back to original position and then switch them directly at the pump. Take care!
thanks for your video
Most welcome
I glad i found this video. I have the same brush hog. Bow i need to fo a upgrade. I had the dame issue with the bolts and the original blads are about for a lasn mower lol. Mine are pretty much trashed. That stump humper is definitely the thing to have
Yes sir! All the parts are listed in the video description ! It’s definitely worth the money to do so. Hope it helped!
I see the part numbers listed, but can’t find where you got them from. Where did you get the parts?
$60 a day for truck $>20 a day for using a trailer- most sit idle > 60% 5x50 is 250 days so can most say they haul it even 50 times. That's even a trailer for $1000 a yr, I doubt it. Things all add up quickly. Parts tools repairs..... Gotta weld if you have any equipmnent and beef it all up. So much free steel /metals everywhere. BED FRAMES ARE EVERYWHERE & think how many washers and dryer bodies you can have. great sheet metal. Now they have all these powr knippers. Even a small USED skid steer can be $15K-20 AND THIS AND THAT +++.
Yes a lot of people don’t realize the costs and repairs associated with a business with any type of equipment involved. But her like to haggle you on cost. It is the name of the game but it is also irritating at times. So glad I grew up resourceful and can do a lot of my own repairs and fabrication on equipment etc. it’s really helped me in this business. And saved me a ton of money that some would have to pay large amounts of money for.
Wondering, is it possible the blade rotation is backwards, that may be causing it to plug up
Great thought but no the blades were spinning the proper direction went through that when I first got it to make sure. It plugs up because the way the back of the cutter is made it can’t allow clippings to pass through it has to throw them out the front on the back swing. So if it’s tall and thick or wet it will
Ball up the pan and stop it and make the hydraulics hot
Somehow I have the same brush cutter, purchased all the same parts you did but my cutter spins the opposite direction. Any suggestion on how to fix that or did you have to change something on yours? Thanks
Yep, no problem. Mine was the same way. All you have to do is unhook your hoses coming off of your hydraulic pump and switch them around.
@@3DClearing23 I tried switching the hoses but I did the switch at the end of the long hoses coming from the machine and not directly at the pump. I'll try it directly at the pump and see what happens. Thank you and great vids. They are so much better than others. Only a matter of time before you catch the algorithm brother
Also, thanks for the kind words. I try to make decent content for people that are just like me. If I can help someone with what I have experienced that’s what matters.
Maybe you said the brand, but is that the Wolverine 72”? I’m in the market for one.
Yes it sure is. Wolverine 72” brush cutter with the upgraded blades and pan
Where did you get the upgraded parts from?
There is info in the video description !! Thanks
Ok, just a thought,
Tell me about your pulling truck!
It will be coming up in a video soon ! Check out my channel for other videos of it ! Thanks
At least it’s worth it’s weight in scrap
It’s really not that bad. For an entry level person. Or lighter duty use. I pushed this cutter beyond its capability. And it always did what I asked of it. Hard to be made at that. If I had to do repairs it was mainly from me being hard on it.
