The hutch turned out great. However, since both bee knobs are on the top doors, I think the drawer door knobs should match, and the bottom knobs should match. There aren't enough knobs to really "mix it up", and the way it is, it looks too intentional of trying to mix it up. Hope this makes sense. And others might think it looks fine 😁.
Also, although I love the green/wood look, I would have liked you to paint the inside of the glassed doors. It's so noticeable when you open them, it looks unfinished.

I'm not a fan of distressing furniture. There's just something about the process that doesn't make sense to my brain. I think this was a great tutorial on how to do it, though! I love cottagecore. Looking forward to the full makeover video!

I think the hutch turned out great. The mismatched knobs feel like you are trying too hard - I think they need to be replaced with matching knobs on the bottom section.
absolutely agree. Wonderful result overall, but the mismatching knobs are really an eyesore

You had me until the mix matched knobs. There's nothing more classic for a piece like this than a wooden knob that is exact same paint color as the piece.
Actually they go well with the rest of the kitchen, kinda tying up the pink and green furniture together

Graham's approach to picking up furniture is 👌👌 the amount of times I've done the same with my hatch back and never lost anything on the drive home is ace 😂
I usually kinda can't stand the 'distressed' look, but this piece actually feels really good. It sort of made me travel to Italy or France. And man, I love when we get to see different team members in a shot and when they are not hiding from the camera (coughAlanacough). It brings more variety and it warms my heart. Love from Vancouver! ❤
I’m not really one for the distressed look myself, BUT I will say that I’m quite fond of and appreciate the fact that you took into consideration the higher traffic areas and were intentional about where you placed the scuff marks. Nicely done!

Now you need some old fashioned wallpaper on the inside walls of the hutch. I love what you did, the wax was a great finish. Cool.

Tbh cottage core to me seems to be another term for shabby chic.
@@QueenOfKings0402 oh haha, that makes me think of the fact I personally love “industrial” mixed with hipster vibes, but it’s really just interchangeable with “urban outfitters” 🤣. I’m pretty unoriginal. But shoutout to the girlies who love cottagecore/shabby chic, which I think is more original than my Buclay ottoman that’s trendy
The color you picked is lovely. I would've stuck to all the same knobs on the piece though. It gives the impression that some were missing and the owner just used whatever was on hand...too much variety.
Love this! Xo McCenna used to do a similar format, where she'd do a video on a DIY she'd be using in a makeover, and then the next video was the makeover. I loved that - I felt like I got to spend more time in the makeover process with her. And she got double the content out of a single makeover, and posted more often.

Could not believe that Graham was not only able to carry that hutch on his own, but that he actually transported it on top of his car 🚘 😮! It was a lovely color green you painted, and a relief that you didn’t overdo the distressed look. Can’t wait to see the whole renovation!

Cottagecore…the new cooler name for Farmhouse
I furnished my first house with Kijiji furniture. I love Kijiji! We have always had a hatchback car, and the sellers always tell us their stuff won't fit, but it almost always does (we had to take apart an electric fire place once, but we still got it). I find people on Kijiji are more reliable than FB Marketplace too. Great job bringing the hutch back to the studio Graham!!

I don't have a hutch -- I have a pie safe. It's oak, and was purchased at an estate sale by my great-grandparents, who gave it to my grandparents, who passed it down to my parents, and now it's in my dining room. My grandfather stripped and refinished the outside f it maybe 60 years ago, but the paint on the inside is original, as far as I know: mint green, VERY flat, with no sheen at all and quite opaque. My mother never liked the color, but it matches my dishes, and looks quit nice in my dining room, where the walls are papered in a yellow floral.

I think it is cute, but the bottom knobs just look like someone got sloppy putting them on, not that they are eclectic. It looks weird that they match each other but on different doors.

Looks good a Galanz 10 cu.ft. Retro Top Freezer Refrigerator, Bebop Blue possibly looks good in this kitchen design I think they make a stove that looks 1940s too
Totally Love Both the Bee knobs as well as the white knobs on the bottom and drawers. Only the other wooden ones look like Overkill😮 but then Again; We haven't seen the whole space yet or your minds completed vision in that kitchen but Those extra wooden knobs would trigger My Negative responses & triggers 😮😢Sorry , Alexandria Gator Tis A Fact :

Maybe I missed it. Did you clean the Hutch first, then give it a light sanding before the first coat of green paint?
I always find the inside of bottom cabinets so dark. I've painted inside all my bottom cabinets white so I can see things easier.
My trick for putting glass shelves in a cabinet or shelf or other is that I get towels and put them on the glass where I'm going to hold on to the glass. That way, I don't dirty the glass, cut myself, and I have better control holding the glass therefore less likely to scrap or scratch the back and sides.
And, it's time to get a Team Work Van. Not ok for an Employee to have to use their own car where there is potential for injury of Employee and their car

Love the hutch I’m not a fan of chalk paint, but I love the way it looks. Distressing it makes it look like you have had it for years like it came out of my grandmothers house! And love the knobs, the eclectic look the bees knees.❤❤❤❤ OK onto the next one to see how you style this now❤❤❤

Always thoroughly clean secondhand furniture before sanding or painting. You don’t want to grind or seal in years of dirt and grime.
