Love Native but Independent and Shoppers don't carry the plastic free which is disappointing. Come on Native let's change that.
Simple and elegant!
Would love to see some more trifted/second hand/revamped furniture on this channel 😊 Not sure how sustainable it is to change out your patio furniture every year like this… As much as I adore Article’s style 🫢
I agree. The degree of consumption of new products could easily be tempered with vintage and reused items to great effect . . . . and this would be great modeling for all of Alexandra's followers!
It's sustainable for the person who gets it for free from the company - not for anyone else. All of my furniture is from the 1930's - passed down through the generations - and it's all very beautiful, and obviously, very well made. It also makes me happy to have the familial connection.
👏👏👏
Yes please! More recycling and more sustainability ❤
@@kirstenmc68I have reservations - maybe this is silly, but people will want to copy the look. They can, if it's available online. They can't if it's a secondhand item found in one Canadian shop. I honestly feel that would be frustrating for viewers.
OMG YOU HERE ON A THURSDAY I LOVE THIS.
Okay, but Graham’s soapy water dispensing technique made him look like the happiest old man helping out while trying his hardest not to spill any water from the bucket. 😂 y’all always look like you have the best time together and I’m here for it!
As a Southern Lady, let me tell you gardenias not only have the most exquisite white blooms but the have a heavenly scent, like jasmine. Be careful not to touch the blooms or they will bruise and turn yellow/brown. Enjoy your patio.
Also pronounced Gar-deen-ya😊
Oh my gosh, Gardenias smell amazing.
They can be finicky to keep alive but should get plenty of sun there.
@@mujababy so amazing!!!!
The 'sprinkler' method is hilarious! 😂
OMG Graham spreading the water on the patio for cleaning totally made my whole day with a LOL and smiles. Wonderful work! I need to paint my patio floor.
He seemed so proud of his technique!
That was VERY SPECIAL. 😅
"Tonic Living?" The owners must be musicians! In music, "tonic" means "home base" or "sense of home." This patio absolutely feels homey. Love it!!! Brava
Commenting from "warmer climate" Australia here - yep, we have to clean our patios, too, probably more often than you guys 😅. And sometimes we can't enjoy our patios for long because of mosquitos OR extreme heat
Yep! Mosquitoes are the worst hey!
Na mosquitoes suck
The personality change with the pet 😂 relatable 😂😂❤
I love your patio renovation for the summer. But as a landscaper, I have to tell you that in orden for the Gardenia to be healthy all summer long you need to repot it from the nursery container into a larger pot. With more compost and proper care, you will have many lovley smelling flowers.
Not on my dress 🎶
Not on my shoes🎶🎤😂
Love it I will have the whole family singing this by the end of the summer
Not on my dress🎶
Not on my shoes🎤❤❤❤🔥🔥
Have you considered some sort of umbrella? As much as I enjoy being out on the deck, I have a big umbrella to protect me from direct sunlight. Anyhoo, the deck looks fantastic!
Honestly, I don't even know how you got anything done with that adorable little kitten present! Patio turned out great, makes me want to give mine a refresh. Also, I've heard that spraying your outdoor furniture with scotchguard can also help protect against the elements.
You just need to know that this gramma lady (63) on Whidbey Island loves watching your videos.. you're so genuine and chirpy! xoxo
This California girl can’t even imagine living in your climate, let alone not having a barbecue handy! But you clearly make the most of your short summer. Nice job on your outdoor space.
Graham is a precious treasure!
I'd love to see some plants along the window sill
Whoo hoo..bonus episode!!❤❤
I wish you would have put a live edge shelf on the window next to sofa and put some plants on it, would be so cute! But love your makeover anyways!
I love what she did but it definitely needs some bright flowers . And I wish they had shown the patio lights when it was dark . You could barely see them at twilight .
From someone in central TX where it has been over 100 Fahrenheit for the past week - we still have to clean our patios, and I'm so envious of a place where you mention possibly needing a sweater in freaking June 😂 because here, when taking my dog for a walk, the thought does cross my mind if I'll even make it back to my apartment alive or if I will become a charred spot on the sidewalk 😅
The Gardenia will need at least six hours of direct sun every day to bloom. It will also need some specific plant food for gardenias. Thet are tricky.
Ohh what a nice surprise!
Gardenias smell so good! I hope you get lots of blooms. Awesome choice!
Very nice! You can also place plants all along the window ledge since you get good sun, they will thrive and you will get that being in a garden feeling :) , Cheers!
Feel free to ALWAYS upload a bonus Vlog whenever. Just saying! 😂😂🥰🥰❤️❤️
Man! So glad I live in Southern California where you can leave everything out on your patio. We have a covered patio so when it does rain, not often, everything stays dry. 😋
I live in a warm climate and can confirm, we have to clean our patios too. Actually have to clean more cuz we can't leave them buried under snow for half a year :(
Love native had it for yrs ♥️♥️♥️♥️
We love a Thursday AG surprise!!!
Love your channel! Love you and the crew! Very friendly reminder to your viewers to be very very careful in a rocking chair if you have cats around. (Their little paws and tail can get easily broken) Thanks for another awesome video! 💗
Very pretty. I think you need more plants though!! I would love to see you do a space with thrifted items sometime!!
UGH- warm climates are not fun. Today it was 102 and felt like 112. We have to pressure wash every year to clean up the mildew that grows all winter. We have a few days in the fall and the spring that are nice, but Houston is not heat-friendly! Love your new patio look and all of your designs!
I like this placement of lights much better than on the masts overhead.
yay for the kitty content!!
I am so excited for the Basement Studio Fix! Studio Fix is my favorite series and what inspired me to make improvements to my small apt.
I feel like a nesting coffee table would have worked better but this makeover turned out so cute
Great choice of furniture, even though I would personally add some more greenery to make it less naked. Still loving the sofa. What a beauty. And obviously a favourite cat-hiding-spot. 😊
haven't watched the whole thing yet, but...i've had those chairs outside (pink ones). drill one or two holes in the low point of the seat so they drain! you will appreciate this in the fall.
Yes us warmer climate people have to clean our entertainment patios and porches like weekly 9 months out of the year, lol!
Ηello there! This is Christine from Athens/Greece. I wouldn't change the view with all this greenery you have from your patio (is it a park?) for a warmer climate. It would be boring, believe me! Here in the suburbs of Athens we are frosted during the winter and burned out during the summer, but the local area is full of trees and I feel such a pleasure every time a get a look out of my window. Lovely to see you refreshing your patio. Well done, as always!
In warmer climates we have sever thunderstorms all spring and summer long and have to bring in all the nice stuff multiple times a week so it doesn't get destroyed. I wish I could just cover it in the winter. 🤪
i live in the toronto area - our weather is extreme in all seasons lol
@@quinnm.3127 same, but the 80 mph winds and tornados don’t allow for just covering furniture. 😣
Graham made me crack up this episode 😂 also that kitten is so cute!😍😍
😂😂😂 Okay who is going to make a gif out of Graham and the rotating water bucket 😂😂😂 I can’t 😂😂😂😂
We in warm climates have do deal with often brown plants (grass) and sun fadeing or furniture. Lol
Don't get rid of the BBQ. It's so convenient and easy for the summer!
It sounds like she still has access to it. It just won't be right outside her door.
It cramped up the space, didn't really work. Where would she have put her plant! Seems like she would be able to access the BBQ anyway :)
I wonder if you waterproofed the covers of that gorgeous couch when you washed them??
I'm so happy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 another episode ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful job. Two videos this week - yes please! And thank you. 😊❤👏
We in the warm climates have to clean our patios every week - even in Winter.
Perfect thing to watch as I'm just waking up here in Australia! 🩷💚
funny🤭 watching here as I'm getting ready to go to bed, Morocco!🤭🍀
'Well... I just have to have that cow bell !!! I love the couch and glad you did not replace it.
Good day from Greece.
Thank you very much for the enjoyable video.
I would like to share that gardenia is rather special plant that likes attention ( like a pet), doesn't like to change place once it finds its spot, and when it flowers it smells heavenly.
Good day to all❤
What do you do with your big plants in the winter when it gets cold? Do you move them inside? Thanks!
Gardenia blooms smell AMAZING
Grahams technique is awesome
I love how you've come alive over the years creating these wonderful videos! It's so nice how you integrate your team into the process. And your design style seems to continue expanding which makes for great content! Excellent job, Alexandra!!!
This patio makeover is a whole vibe. Super cute! I love the rocking chair. Looks so comfortable!
Your gardenia will smell like heaven when it blooms! Don't envy everyone in warmer climates, 117 is so HARD to tolerate. You have to hide indoors with the A/C!
Pink chairs …. Who would have thought? Love them.
OMG you have a new cat? 😍 We need an update video 🐱😍❤
Graham’s sprinkler technique 😂👌🏾
Year round hot weather has its own challenges. I live in Florida and its tough keeping the pool area clean and weed free. Not complaining though. I hate snow
Amanda Seyfried has your birdcage light!!!!!! It's on the AD tour of her NYC apartment

I can understand new decor pieces makes you feel refreshed. Just a suggestion though, a good wash with a pressure washer could have easily revamp the rug as good as new. Would love to see you promote reuse/recycle since so many people look upto you for design inspo.
Gardenias are a common garden flowering tree/shrub here in Australia and the white flowers have a stunningly beautiful fragrance! You're going to love them!
Love that you are always smiling and spreading positivity and making color pink look so cozy and functional.👍
Patio looks great! Love your new pieces….don’t know how you were in a dress doing the makeover…I would have been in my t-shirt, tennis shoes and porch drawers (old shorts you shouldn’t wear past your porch)😂
Yes a pink gingham dress was a bit much. You clean better with cheap dirty clothes you can throw out or turn into rags.
Gardenias are also acid plants so make sure to use that kind of fertilizer. Hard to find in liquid format but get potting mix that says for acid plants. The store may have told you but if you later have issues with it could be that.
Thank you for the bonus episode. I’ve loved your old pillows in the old makeover.
Ok but seriously - I also live in the GTA and it’s literally a 24h window before it’s too late 😂
🤣🤣🤣😭⏰
... Can you See my light?... 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The thing about living in a warm climate is that it’s way too hot to be on a patio for most of of the summer
as always, everything is fine! 👍🤩you and your team are really great!!! 😍I want to know how James is doing!?
Looks great! And SO Smart to keep your inside items in a basket just inside the back door. I’m doing this!
And here I was thinking no way would I re-decorate and then un-decorate every time I go out and come in. That's too much work for me. If it can't stay out there all the time, I'm not putting it out there, lol.
😅 I have a deep balcony tray. I put everything I want outside in it & put it on my table. Sometimes we get sudden rain showers and you have to race back in with phone, snacks, drinks, book. Saves trying to scoop everything up in a hurry.
You can always get a small propane tabletop grill. There are a lot of options in camping equipment.
💛🔥🌽🍗🌭yessssss
Lucky you😉Noah allowed you to remove his barbecue😅 love the new look🤗
Awh, so glad you followed suit from pation re-do and did yours. So cozy and lovely. Yes grill downstairs.
Gardenia...you will LOVE the scent! However, bring it inside to overwinter.
Stoked to see the full apartment episode btw!
so cute! i wosh i had an outdoor space. i would drill a tiny hole or two in the bottom of those plastic chairs where any water might collect so they stay dry in the rain!
Removing the barbecue was a good call. It was too big for the space, especially if you aren't an avid outdoor cooker and have access to a larger backyard communal space.
I know I am late to the game, but I cannot express enough how excited I am that Lottie has a cat friend again! YES YES YES! So happy :D
Gorgeous patio - though if you never use the bbq it was wise to get rid of it but... they are so handy sometimes!
8:38 😂, I needed this today
GET OUT !! This is so unexpected, THANK YOU TEAM AG 🥰 Have not even watched yet but ya'll made my night !! 🌈🍀❤
Space looks great! People usually think of what they can add to make a space look better but, in this episode, removing a bulky item was just thing it needed.
I love your use of pink in your make overs. The patio turned out adorable and multifunctional in spite of its small size. You are a master of making small spaces look sooooo good!
Gardenias are one of my favorite smells!
Hi AGT! I live in Pensacola Florida. And yes we have to clean our outside spaces too. Unfortunately sometimes twice a year. Our cleaning consist of full on pressure washing due to the humidity & rain. Love your show and if I ever winn the lottery your on my bucket list!!! Keep the shows coming. Jere Mixson
I’ve never seen a Homesense like this one - it’s a warehouse!
Yes, in Texas we have to clean them in all 4 seasons.... good thing we love power washing!
Just beautiful! I love that you did all that refresh work wearing that gorgeous dress!❤
That dress, cute 😂 and hides her 2nd trimester 😊
@@mezanian? Uncalled for
Thanks for the extra makeover… you made my Thursday ….. looks uncluttered and comfy( you love pink! )
Yep, in St Pete Florida I have to clean the patio!
Everything is so cutteeee😭😂
Please. Please. Please. Tell me where you got that pink gingham dress! It’s perfect and my life would be complete if I could have one. 🤩😍
Patio is all sorts of fresh and ready for summer! Also, that Article rocking chair looks stupid comfortable. Loved this refresh! 🫶🏻
Gardenias smell soooooo good. Hope you get the flowers soon!
This was so cute and fun! Looks like a chill place to... uh, chill, haha. Can't wait for the next video. Greetings from the Dominican Republic to the whole AG crew! 🥰 P.S. Boo is sooooo cute.
