For good initial break-in: 10W30 (non-synthetic) for the first 8 hrs of run time --> Change the oil and put 10W30 Full synthetic for the next 50 hrs of run time --> Change the oil every 20 hours moving forward. This generator needs 1 quart plus 8.5 ounces. I had to do lots of research on this generator to find this info. I also keep a solar trickle charger on my battery at all times to make sure the batter remains in good health.
I would do initial 15 minutes with no load, change oil. Then 15 minutes with small load, change oil. Another 30 to 60 minute change oil. I repeat the last break in of 30-60 minute w/load until I see no more aluminum flakes in the warm oil from change. Usually takes at least 4 oil changes to remove all the internal machining metal flakes. This will be the difference between years of service or a year of service.
As this generator uses a beater do NOT use synthetic - foaming and cavitation will occur depriving engine from max oil. Sorry to whiplash on advice here.
I bought the same model a few weeks ago. Ran it in for 5 hours, changed the oil, then used it to power our 42 ft RV for 4 straight nights. On gas, not propane. The weather was close to 100 degrees each day, lows around 90*, so both of the AC units ran basically non-stop each night. It would run out of fuel at exactly 10 hours, like clockwork. Performed flawlessly. That put the hour meter at 45, so it got another oil change to full synthetic. Next try will be on propane!

I recently bought an all electric house so I will give it a go on gasoline. Doing the natural gas conversion is not cheap, but it gives unlimited supply of fuel (it uses a LOT of natural gas). The proper 3/4” ID hoses are not cheap. I added a soft start to my downstairs 4 ton AC which draws just under 30 amps and it ran fine during testing. @@markflowers3126Not what I was referring to. Methanol will take care of moisture/water in the propane. That generator will pull all vapor off the tank and outside of tank will freeze over even on a 90+ degree day.
I bought one of these units several months ago. Upon trying to start it with propane it backfired and would not start. Tried using gas, it would run and stumble. I have seen online on other sites, that a number of these generators have fuel selector switches that are bad. Some people bypass the switch and run on gas with no problem. I suspect that this is my problem, have not yet checked it out. If it is, I will try to get a new switch. Generator so far has been a disappointment.

@@addminusDIY thanks. I have it in the shop for last 2 months. They have replaced the carburetor fuel lines and gaskets. He finally got it running but it keeps ramping up and down and idling. It's still not working right. I will suggest this to him.
One dude put up a video about using solely propane having condensation in the carbonator and rusting it out.
That is something to keep an eye on for sure, or at the least run some fuel with stabilizer through it once and awhile.
I just purchased the 12000EH for my 50amp camper but the outlets won’t work when I run it…. Everything else in the camper works just not the outlets.
It’s has a 120V / 120V/240V switch, which I had set to the 120V setting.
My outlets work without the generator hooked up, but once it’s hooked up they aren’t working.
Any tips or suggestions? Going crazy trying to figure it out lol. Would greatly appreciate some feedback
Hello Nick,
That is a hard one to answer due to each rig having different setups. I would say check the circuit breaker on the generator first. Has your rig been set up for a generator, if so maybe check the transfer switch if it has one. Make sure you have power coming out of the generator also. Can't be 100 percent sure. Please let us know when you figure it out, I am curious. Sorry could not be more help.
@@Jimmy2Tech I appreciate the fast reply! My Go Power inverter was reading that it was receiving 50amps so I’m confident there was power coming out. I’m going to play with it some more tomorrow and if I find a solution I will let you know. Thank you for the response!
fine a battery for this generator
20# propane cylinder will freeze up after about 15-20 mins of use and stop producing propane vapor...... I would not use anything less then 40 pounds tank
Put a little bit of ethanol will take care of that problem
Please let us know what you find out so people that may have the issue can find it here. We would appreciate it. Thanks!
@@Jimmy2Tech I bypassed the gas /propane switch and the generator ran better, on gas, but once the motor was running, it did not run steady. If I held the choke open it would hold steady, but upon releasing the choke, it would hunt up and down varying the motor speed. I do not know if this is normal or if it should hold a steady speed. Any thoughts?
Works ok if have a 500 tank of propane and a shed to keep it clean
Thanks
Necesito un generador para conectar dos rotomartillos cada uno requiere 3.000 watts de potencia y sierras eléctricas? total 9.000 watts de potencia este generador me sirve para conectar todas estas máquinas simultáneamente???
If your total wattage is only 9000 watts then this generator will handle the load.
It should come with a cover. 😅
Exhaust, air intake, and heat would be an issue.
I have this exact model. You can easily make this TRI-FUEL (natural gas) but does cost a few hundred dollars. I ran a 4 ton AC (rated at 29 amps) on natural gas. You won’t be able to run much else since natural gas has less power than propane. I was also using a Microair soft start on my AC. 3/4” ID natural gas hose is expensive. I moved recently so I can’t use natural gas now😢
Spend the $300 and get the honda...mine only lasted about a year...
I can run a heatpump heat and heatpump water heater
Sucker won't start on propane
atomic batteries to power- turbines to speed....
PS after only 40-50 hours worth of use it did that s*** on me they came and got it and instead of give me a new one the thing still under warranty they put it out for repairs that is the biggest piece of s*** ever buy a Honda buy something better than a dura crap
Worst generator made …100 percent Chinese junk …long turn dependability not that great …TDH way to high…one of the cheapest gen out there …you get what you pay for.
Do not recommend stick with generac
How did this unit fail on you? What went wrong?
I've used mine during several outages. Worked as it should have for me. Just curious what experience you had?
They are not run at the factory so you get to be quality control, ordered one didn't start sent it back ordered another one didn't start either. Like I said junk
Chyna 😂
Lifan makes genny that have a low THD level along with Westinghouse but only on their inverters and their Vtwin genny's.
Very loud
One person could have done this review, too much testosterone in one video
Huh? Are you a soy boy? 😂
way overkill. its gonna kill you in gas
Was getting to give you a thumbs down just for the simple over Macho nonsense but I'll give you a break. Still, why do you guys have to get all Studio based and use phrases like b-roll?. ... And what is with of voila hand movements and all the music and production value? Just look at the camera, point at the right stuff, say the damned words.
Why do people feel the need to come on and bicth about someone who took the time to review something that we want tk buy? The video was fine. Stop being a douche
Who TF cares!!!?? Go make your own video if you don't like it. Some weird people on the internet these days 🙄
100% J U N K
Based on your experience with it?Or are you just a "brand name" only snob?Just curious as to why you say 100% junk.
@@aaronwilcott4561He's just an internet troll.
You guys are lousy, we wanted to know how to do things.
