Thanks Tommo, you folks are spoilt for choice down there. Free slipway with £8 parking for both vehicle and trailer is very reasonable. Not often you get the extra long spaces. Looking forward to seeing you back out on the boat. Weather might be nice next week.

A slipway with decent parking at last!!!
That is a lovely slipway Tommo. Looks quite sheltered too. Can you park there multiple days?

@SailingWithDave I believe there is a max stay of something like 18 hours, but it is owned by the marina and just round the corner there is a seperate area where trailers and boats are stored.
I'm sure if the marina was asked, they would accommodate even if you had to park where the boats are.

@@fat_tommo_goes_boating Thats good. Up here more and more places are putting restrictions on parking so you can only spedn the day or 2 at best. I asked the council in North wales what do you do if you want to circumnavigate Anglesey in 3 or 4 days and they didn't know!!!

@@SailingWithDave they expect you to get a boat like mine and do ot in 3 or 4 hours 🤣.
If there is a trailer park, I often park the van in the road somewhere these days, parking is getting so expensive, on mudeford quay it's about £25 for 24 hours.
100yrds up the road, free! 🫣

@@fat_tommo_goes_boating Yeah its basically the same story everywhere. For some reason I htink slipways are probably something the councils up here would rather just go away!!! They're mainly in poor condition now, parking is height restriced everywhere, parking terms are generally the day only and leaving trailers is getting riskier all the time too.
makes getting a mooring maybe more appealing. It stresses me out to be honest. Everywhere you go there's some issue. I feel an Anglesey tour of slipways coming on AKA "Fat Dave goes boating!"

@SailingWithDave luckily, here height barriers are not common, and many slipways are still free. I know plenty of people who now just park on the roadside, outside people's houses with the trailers hooked on too, I'm sure that goes down well 🙄
Moorings are ok, I had one for 30 years, but with increased thefts, damage from other passing boats and seagull poo everywhere, it has its own hassle.
On the river in Christchurch, where I was for years, lately, many have had fuel syphoned out of boats, or portable tanks taken completely!
