@@StillAmanda Elizabeth is a badass bitch; she’s that feminist “I do what the fuck I want,” kind of protagonist in these types of stories. She lives with her mother, father, and her sisters. Her and Jane are pretty close. Then meets Mr. Darcy and mr big hair at a ball where her mother tries to show her daughters off in hopes to marry them to eligible bachelors. Idk how Darcy and big hair are related but I believe they are friends. Big hair likes Jane. Darcy is awkward, cold, and appears to not much care for Elizabeth, which makes her dislike him in turn. Darcy has to stay for whatever reason; they throw a poorly timed ball. Elizabeth and Darcy get a little closer with this weird kinda tension. Then pompous balding guy shows up and has dinner. He seems like an incel type guy and he wants to marry Elizabeth (or one of her sisters, I can’t really tell) but she seems disgusted by the idea. She doesn’t want to marry, let alone him. Then little drummer boy shows up and he knows Darcy somehow. Maybe they were in college together or something. He lies about Darcy to Elizabeth like a high school girl living off of drama. The sisters get ready for the ball. Pompous balding guy tries to hit on Elizabeth; she obviously doesn’t like that. Darcy and Elizabeth dance, much to her family’s pleasure. They ship the two of them like fed ex. Next morning, pompous balding guy tries some more shit. Marriage and blah blah. Elizabeth ain’t having that shit at all. Her mom doesn’t like her refusal while her father seems to just want his daughter to be happy. Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s sister is engaged to Mr. CoLlInS. Old money, as she is called, is a big deal and is suddenly inserted into this narrative for whatever reason. Elizabeth back talks her; ms lady doesn’t much care for that. Darcy is awkward again. And again. And again. They go to church. Big hair tells Elizabeth something, presumably about Darcy. Darcy confesses and proposes at the gazebo and Elizabeth is unhappy. Because how fucking dare he. Some family drama happens involving Elizabeth’s sister; I’m not entirely sure. Now insert Mr Darcy’s bitchin house. Elizabeth reconsiders Darcy’s proposal because he be loaded. Elizabeth has to stay for a bit longer then she anticipated. Her sister runs away to get married to little drummer boy and they want some of that sweet dough. Little drummer boy is bad. Darcy paid for their wedding and Elizabeth is intrigued. Insert panic. Big hair and Jane have a moment. Old money and Elizabeth argue over some bullshit. Elizabeth is conflicted and goes for a walk. Darcy is there too and he confesses once more. Elizabeth accepts his proposal, tired of everyone’s shit. And then our story ends.
things that made me laugh out loud: 1. Mr darcy being called a "tall child" 2. Mr. Wickem being "I'm new in town and it gets worse" 3. Elizabeth's "first off, no" 4. Elizabeth, rethinking the proposal, like "oh okay" 5. "SCATTER" 6. everything with Lady Catharine 7. and that "huh, fine"

@@lorrainesekera4100 I always hated this version of Pride and Prejudice, so this RUclips video made me appreciate it more than watching the actual movie did.
@@lorrainesekera4100 actually, considering it was set during the Regency era when people didn't touch each other all willy nilly as they do now (making it mean nothing at all), it was quite romantic and sweet the way she said yes. 😉 People back then weren't allowed to do such things if they weren't engaged or married. That is also why she is so surprised when he touches her hand (while she's not wearing gloves) to help her into the carriage - the hand flex right after is also significant, it was very sneaky of him to have done that; as is suggested in this video, had Bingley noticed this as well, he'd be like "hmmm 🤔"
That also would have worked for the scene where Mr. Darcy just shows up at the Collins’ house and hands Elizabeth the letter and apologizes and leaves.
Just realizing this, but imagine the scene where Lydia's letter gets to Lizzie, but its the Mulaney line: "Yeah, we took off while you were in the bathroom. Because we HATE YOU."

I actually could do those two pieces. It's the editing that blows me away.
Impressive 🤩
Was it a John Mulaney fan who discovered Pride & Prejudice one day, or an Austen fan who discovered John Mulaney one day?
@@AdrianColley the venn diagram of John Mulaney quoters and Austenites is a circle, apparently
@@AdrianColley If I may speak from personal experience and that of other irl Mulaney stans I know, we tend to be Lit students or lovers of lit at the very least - who stumble upon him.
“ *sigh* fine” is the best way to explain how Elizabeth decided to marry Mr.Darcy
IKR? Such a lukewarm response. Come on, director!
@@lorrainesekera4100 I always hated this version of Pride and Prejudice, so this RUclips video made me appreciate it more than watching the actual movie did.
The voiceover when she saw his house had me :'D
8:08 - “The fact that this line was said by Elizabeth in the book”” ☠️ dead “no that’s the thing im sensitive about” 😆😆😆😆 so true
did she? because I've read the book but can't find that line 😭😭 if anyone can tell me where it is, that would be amazing 🙏🙏
@@nori-draws-things she says it to her aunt right before she goes on the trip with her aunt and uncle!
@@rvcar Thank you!!!
This video is proof that I am on the right side of the internet
There is a very small cross-section of British lit fans and comedy fans who find this hysterical. These are my people.
*waves frenetically*

So when is our first club meeting...?
Hello yes!
IM HERE TOO 😭
9:47 was the exact moment that I realized that not only is President Snow in this movie, but so is Johanna Mason.
"That's my wife" *almost spits my water out* "We know, but heyyy" *trying to keep it together*
“That was such a weird interaction that I’m not entirely sure that it actually happened.”
-I relate to this on a spiritual level 👀
That also would have worked for the scene where Mr. Darcy just shows up at the Collins’ house and hands Elizabeth the letter and apologizes and leaves.
That would have also worked for any scene of my existence wherein I exist :)
@@parryyotterI'm fairly sure, it was that scene....
I watch this every time the algorithm puts it on my feed. It never gets old. Well done.
"not unless everyone gets real cool about a lot of stuff real quickly" made me cry
legit my favorite cut in this entire perfect video
how did some of those quotes fit PERFECTLY into this in a completely different context?!? the gazebo and "scatter" was so freaking hilarious!!!
"No one look at me or I'll k1ll mys3lf" 💀💀💀 Why is that exactly what I always got from his expression? He's not a jerk, he's just got social anxiety
Just realizing this, but imagine the scene where Lydia's letter gets to Lizzie, but its the Mulaney line: "Yeah, we took off while you were in the bathroom. Because we HATE YOU."
Noooooooo!!!! 😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣
I’m actually laughing so much my chest hurts😂🤣😂🤣🤣
😂
the way I started howling at this
NOOOOO!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂 the accuracy though
Everything about this is absolutely ON POINT however, consider for darcy's first proposal: "this is an on fire garbage can"
… could be a nursery

“Could be our marriage” 😏😏😏
From someone who hasn't read the book, watched the movie, nor even knows what's about, I feel like I 100% understand the plot and the story from this video alone.
I showed this video to my mom, who loves P&P but has no clue who John Mulaney is. Her response after watching the whole thing quietly was “he gets it”
That’s brilliant. 😂
I love your mom.
when Wickham appeared with John's "excuse me I'm new in town, and it gets worse" I genuinely laughed out loud so much i forgot how to breathe for a moment xDD
also i haven't seen this version of Pride and Prejudice, but i've seen (and fell in love) with Pride, Prejudice and Zombies but i don't even need to see the former, this video is enough xDD
"Forgot how to breathe" is exactly what happened to me, quite literally, the first time I watched the "Street Smarts!" segment of _Kid Gorgeous_ . Honest-to-god had to pause the video more than once so that I didn't die of asphyxia from laughing so hard.

@@blackarosskir gotta read that one and
Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters
However came up with the concept MUST PROTECTED FROM TIME TRAVEL MURDER/ERASING!

Brilliant! The part were Darcy says that Elizabeth is not that “handsome” could’ve also been Mulaney’s “oh noo she’s ugly”
“Strange the passage of time” is an underrated moment
That was my favorite part. I had to rewind for stuff I missed because I was laughing so hard.
I was looking for this comment
"You could pour soup in my lap and I'd apologize for it" - Miss Jane Bennett, everyone!
Also Bingley, so what her dad says in the book about how everybody's going to take advantage of them, which makes them the perfect pair, is so apt.

XD
PaP is my comfort movie, and this video is my comfort video. I hope you know you that every time I watch PaP (at least once a month) I think of all these quotes along with it. You have genuinely changed how I watch the movie and somehow made it even funnier??? Love you for it
I couldn’t stop laughing at the “GIVE US SOME MONEY, AS A GIFT! WE WANT A GIFT, BUT IT HAS TO BE MONEY!” 🤣🤣
So real
And then the joke just keeps going!
BECAUSE THATS LITERALLY WHAT WICKHAM AND LYDIA DID!
I want John Mulaney, Keira Knightley and other actors to see this...
This is the best thing that ever happened to the internet
thank you $120k English diploma for making John Mulaney a Jane Austen enthusiast to the point his skits tell the pride and prejudice storyline
lmao jokes aside, this edit is 100% one of my favorites, i now wish for john to arrange a set telling any movie in his own words
4:14 "excuse me, I'm new in town, and it getS WORSE" SO FKING ACCURATE OMG
Wickham in one sentence 😂
That one had me dying!
All of the Wickham scenes were so ridiculously spot on.
I was slapping my knee at "not unless everyone gets cool about a bunch of stuff real fast." So perfect
“Give me MONEYYYY!” 🤣😭🤣
“I’m new in town and it gets worse” made me howl!
"How many times have you watched this?"
"Yes."
It's a classic at this point.
"incredibly well coordinated" has me laughing every time. Also "we know but hey!"
Perfection.
So true! And Caroline Bingley is SUCH a beotch! She never fails to make me want to slap the taste out of her mouth!
"Well may I introduce you to (and my condolences to everyone) THE GAZEBO!!!!" had me DYING!
Same!!!
Yep, that’s where I started to lose it too.
YES I was in awe of how that was worked in
I need you to know that this is easily one of my favorite videos on the internet and I come back and watch it all the time
"I'll keep all my emotions right here and then, one day, I'll die" is most accurate and absolutely hilarious descriptor for Darcy's longing stares at Elizabeth.
What a gem.
This is the epitome of "a crossover we didn't know we needed".
Never have I laughed so hard watching a video by myself.
after watching 7:31 i legit can't breathe anymore i mean i lost it when he screamed THE GAZEBOOOOO
The lead up is insane, that cut-in was absolutely perfect
Was wondering how I hadn’t found it in the comments yet!
