If you know the Quranic narrative, Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba. In doing so, they made a supplication to God asking for Him to send messenger from their descendants. It makes sense that God heard him as indicated by the name meaning and did so with the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

I also have seen that warning people and interfering is completely not the same definition. How to define it? Let me give you an example: 1. Warning is when you make notice to someone that this is wrong, not that you warn him. Many people will not understand that there’s a big difference. 2. When interfering, let’s say for example that someone talked with another person, and i go ask him, could you please you who talked with? Those who strictly believe in the Unity and Oneness of God, yet are the proponents and apologetics of Non-Islamic faiths will find the message more convincing, as to understand how the true concept of their theology succumb to alteration, innovation, distortion and corruption, over a period of times and how Islam has resisted such temptations strongly. A comment not about the talk, which is great, it is more about the illustration "a hand pointing with one finger". It is a common practice of the layman to attest to monotheism. My mom and dad did it, even myself did it until age of 30's, then after I came across the sermon of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb about Tawhid (Monotheism) I stopped doing that. Monotheism is not a numerical one. It is much more deep than that. To say that Allah is one in the numerical sense, assume that in theory they could be one or two, or more; it is just happen to be one. In fact monotheism of Ali is that there is nothing else except him. Everything you see or think of is just manifestation of Allah.

This is very interesting, and I can understand why Islam would see Judaism in this way, but perhaps the question should be: did the _Jews_ nationalize monotheism, or did _God?_ After all, Muslims _do_ believe that God initially selected the Jews, for some reason choosing Isaac's descendants over Ishmael's. So even if one argues that He broke His covenant with them for one reason or another (which we reject), Muslims nevertheless believe that at one point in time it _did_ exist only with the Jews. This is all a moot point though because even though we believe that God "nationalized monotheism," we still believe that it is accessible to the world through a) our extant holy text (the Tanakh) and b) interactions with Jews. It therefore makes sense that Islam would attack the veracity of our text because it is the primary source through which the world's population can "drink of the cup" of monotheism. If you break that cup then you need a new one. And if the cup isn't broken, then try to damage its reputation. Further, there is plenty in the Tanakh that is universally applicable without becoming Jewish, so I would disagree that we believe that God only "belongs" to us. This also ignores the fact that the Jews didn't simply wish to keep God to ourselves, but that the surrounding pagan nations throughout Jewish history would metaphorically (and often literally) beat us whenever we tried to teach them about Him. Monotheism put us at odds with just about everybody when it "wasn't cool yet" to be a monotheist. The Jews have suffered greatly for maintaining faithful to their religion, and it is only due to their being stiff-necked that we are still around today.

Thank God, however, He is eternally patient (Exodus 34:6-7) even with our misdeeds, so even though we have broken the covenant time-and-time again, He has not reciprocated by breaking it with us. _"And Zion said, 'The Lord has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.' Okay, to the point: I'll tell you what I say to Christians when I speak with them: because I only believe to be bound by what the Tanakh says, I cannot take at face value something that seems to say something in opposition to it, even though I may respect it. The most basic example I have is typically more relevant for Christians given their relationship with Jesus, but I suppose that it would be relevant to you as well given Muslims' respect and reverence for Jesus. Please understand in advance that nothing I am about to say reflects any personal dislike of Jesus; I find much of what he said to be profound, while on the other hand I find certain teachings and behaviors to contradict the teachings of the commandments. Let's take Matthew 12:1-8 for example, where Jesus walked through the grain fields on the Sabbath and his disciples picked grain. We have a clear injunction in the Torah not to do this very thing (Exodus 15:23-30, Exodus 35:13 - the showbread, Nechemiah 13:15), so it is difficult to understand why Jesus would seem to tolerate and defend it. You're committing a fallacy by judging Islam through Muslim countries. 'Muslim countries' does not equal Islam - there are only Muslim-majority countries today, not Islamic countries. If you want to judge Islam, judge it on its teachings derived from the Qur'an and the authentic narrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is the same fallacy as judging Islam from Muslims; there are many non-practicing Muslims/Muslims only in name who are not correct representatives of the religion. Same goes for the Muslim-majority countries of today.

Schuon is an esoteric metaphysician with no credibility in the field of comparitive theologies. His framework for determining ontological monotheism is as crude and elementary as it is refutable and inconsequential. How about looking at monotheism using legitimate theologians and their works as a source. Its like having Ian Botham lecture on football first 11 formations. Why would we want to hear a retired cricketer tell us his meandering philosophies of how a 4 4 2 is most suitable form in soccer. There are 1000s of experts in association football presenting more detailed, finely crafted perspectives on the matter, and to ignore all their expertise because i have cherry picked rudimentary evidence that validify my unorthodox football views is quite frankly ignorant.
Major perennialist writers work within a Neoplatonic framework and metaphysics precedes theology. Theology and comparative religion are distinct fields, not to mention that theology is, by definition, the exoteric side of religion and, in particular, christianity, structurally dependent on Middle and Neoplatonic metaphysics anyway. So following your presented logic, why would we want to listen to a theologian in comparative religion? There are thousands of experts in the field of comparative religion as a whole who present threads of similarities and differences that indicate a horizon of transcendent truth, and to ignore all their knowledge because I have selected rudimentary evidence that validates my particular faith above all others is quite ignorant.
Paul, the problem of you reading passages from these, in some cases, scholarly books is that you have self-selected the works you are referring to, in conformity with your own predilections and preferences. But that is not the method of authentic scholars, who, instead, engage with works which challenge their understanding. I would like to see you address this shortcoming by tackling the rich seam of modern Muslim scholarship which challenge your assumptions, particularly in relation to framing concepts like democracy being contrary to "Divine Law" and so on. Happy to suggest other additional topics.

Having one God does not make it a True Religion. Even New Age believe in One Supreme God. So who is who. Well Jesus taught us how to spot on a True Religion. Interestingly, in the Hebrew language Israel means he who wrestles with God. While Yishmael means he who God hears. Very telling.
If you know the Quranic narrative, Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba. In doing so, they made a supplication to God asking for Him to send messenger from their descendants. It makes sense that God heard him as indicated by the name meaning and did so with the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

1. Warning is when you make notice to someone that this is wrong, not that you warn him. Many people will not understand that there’s a big difference.
2. When interfering, let’s say for example that someone talked with another person, and i go ask him, could you please you who talked with? That is interfering, but saying who did you talk to, to know that if the person is good or not, that is morally good.

A comment not about the talk, which is great, it is more about the illustration "a hand pointing with one finger". It is a common practice of the layman to attest to monotheism. My mom and dad did it, even myself did it until age of 30's, then after I came across the sermon of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb about Tawhid (Monotheism) I stopped doing that. Monotheism is not a numerical one. It is much more deep than that. To say that Allah is one in the numerical sense, assume that in theory they could be one or two, or more; it is just happen to be one. In fact monotheism of Ali is that there is nothing else except him. Everything you see or think of is just manifestation of Allah.

Subhana Rabbi al A'laa. The Christians, Jews and all those that messengers were sent to (to every nation in different times) that adheres to 'there is only 1 God' and have not committed shirk (association with God and belief in other gods and committed other major shirk) , abiding by the Laws given unto them (have not changed or replaced or repealed) are Our brothers and sisters; muslimeens.
This is very interesting, and I can understand why Islam would see Judaism in this way, but perhaps the question should be: did the _Jews_ nationalize monotheism, or did _God?_ After all, Muslims _do_ believe that God initially selected the Jews, for some reason choosing Isaac's descendants over Ishmael's. So even if one argues that He broke His covenant with them for one reason or another (which we reject), Muslims nevertheless believe that at one point in time it _did_ exist only with the Jews.
This is all a moot point though because even though we believe that God "nationalized monotheism," we still believe that it is accessible to the world through a) our extant holy text (the Tanakh) and b) interactions with Jews. It therefore makes sense that Islam would attack the veracity of our text because it is the primary source through which the world's population can "drink of the cup" of monotheism. If you break that cup then you need a new one. And if the cup isn't broken, then try to damage its reputation.
Further, there is plenty in the Tanakh that is universally applicable without becoming Jewish, so I would disagree that we believe that God only "belongs" to us. This also ignores the fact that the Jews didn't simply wish to keep God to ourselves, but that the surrounding pagan nations throughout Jewish history would metaphorically (and often literally) beat us whenever we tried to teach them about Him. Monotheism put us at odds with just about everybody when it "wasn't cool yet" to be a monotheist. The Jews have suffered greatly for maintaining faithful to their religion, and it is only due to their being stiff-necked that we are still around today.
the criticism of judaism in the quran isnt their nationalism. it is their hypocrisy and how they broke their covenant with God.

Thank God, however, He is eternally patient (Exodus 34:6-7) even with our misdeeds, so even though we have broken the covenant time-and-time again, He has not reciprocated by breaking it with us.

for jews, the exodus and the first kingdom was the first rise and nebuchadnezzar's attack was the first fall. the re-establishment under cyrus was the second rise and titus's attack was the second fall.
for muslims, under arabs (rashiduns, umayyads, abbasids) was the first rise and the mongol invasion plus reconquista was the first fall. under turks (seljuqs, mughals, ottomans) was the second rise and colonialism was the second fall. I will leave it here.

Okay, to the point: I'll tell you what I say to Christians when I speak with them: because I only believe to be bound by what the Tanakh says, I cannot take at face value something that seems to say something in opposition to it, even though I may respect it.
The most basic example I have is typically more relevant for Christians given their relationship with Jesus, but I suppose that it would be relevant to you as well given Muslims' respect and reverence for Jesus. Please understand in advance that nothing I am about to say reflects any personal dislike of Jesus; I find much of what he said to be profound, while on the other hand I find certain teachings and behaviors to contradict the teachings of the commandments.
Let's take Matthew 12:1-8 for example, where Jesus walked through the grain fields on the Sabbath and his disciples picked grain. We have a clear injunction in the Torah not to do this very thing (Exodus 15:23-30, Exodus 35:13 - the showbread, Nechemiah 13:15), so it is difficult to understand why Jesus would seem to tolerate and defend it.

Well, i'm not sure wether monotheism means ''one god'', heno- means one, mono- means only. In saying henotheism there's a possibility of polytheism. It's a matter of countbale or uncountable god. Saying you're monotheism it means that there is no god, because god is uncountable and not approachable from this world. Which is the idea of monotheism which most true monotheists have. You're committing a fallacy by judging Islam through Muslim countries. 'Muslim countries' does not equal Islam - there are only Muslim-majority countries today, not Islamic countries. If you want to judge Islam, judge it on its teachings derived from the Qur'an and the authentic narrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is the same fallacy as judging Islam from Muslims; there are many non-practicing Muslims/Muslims only in name who are not correct representatives of the religion. Same goes for the Muslim-majority countries of today.

I would like to see you address this shortcoming by tackling the rich seam of modern Muslim scholarship which challenge your assumptions, particularly in relation to framing concepts like democracy being contrary to "Divine Law" and so on. Happy to suggest other additional topics.
