How long will those side skirts last if VW plan to use them on all surfaces? I would't expect them to survive the first days rallying on loose surfaces, and be ripped off on just about every tarmac event sometime over the three days..... The car as seen here looks more like a touring car racer than a rally car. Looks impressive though!

My guess is they are just trying the wider track, to get a rough feel of the potential gain. I quite seriously doubt they have a new engine in this car already, and most of the work will be around maximizing the gain of the wide track and aero, the engine will come last, probably in a year or so.

Are you saying the maximum hp for a WRC car is 380? If so, I read from Wikipedia that the hp limit was 300 (although some were believed to put out 330 to 340). But those are the 1997-2010 WRC regulations.
