- Volkswagen quits WRC at the end of 2016 after winning driver, codriver and manufacturer title in four conscutive years (2013-2016).
Their Polo WRC won 42 rallys (51 starts). In addition it was fastest on a single special stage for 621 times.
Clips were recorded at WRC in Germany 2013-2016.

I'm a huge Audi/VW fanboy. Seeing the Polo retired made my heart drop. I feel like now only having 3 manufacturers in WRC makes it way less appealing.
I miss that car! Between VW in WRC and Porsche and Audi's utter dominance at LeMans, VAG has done so well in motorsport in the recent past.
The VW group in general dominates. Group B, WRC, Nurburgring records, Lemans, let's not even start on Bugatti's and Lamborghini's acclaim.

Volkswagen retired from WRC. All Polos were factory cars.

@@sathyasurya6438 M-Sport represents Ford in WRC. They are still in. But as far as I know there is no offical support from Ford.
Citroen retired a few months ago, when Ogier decided to sign a contract with Toyota.

The most successful wrc car is Mitsubishi Lancer with Tommi Makinen and Citroen C4 with Sebastian Loeb.
The Polo won 42 out of 51 WRC rallys. It mean the win rate.
Put a skoda badge on it and paint it green ,as far as I know skoda aren't pulling there rally program so why not
A lot of VW ,s instant succsses in the wrc must have come from skoda,s years of rallying experience .
Skoda announced that they still want to focus on customer sport only. But reports that say VW will rent their 2016 and/or 2017 WRC's will keep the rumour mill running. We will see!

It is in terms of the win rate for WRC cars. Of course Citroen was very successful, but C4, Xsara, DS3 and C3 are different cars. Nevertheless Citroen won more titels. But by most successful WRC I mean one single car.

@@matthewruss C4 won 36 out of 56 WRC events (64%) while the Polo won 43 out of 52 WRC events (83%).
The C4 won a lot of national rallys in addition, but one cannot really compare this to the Polo as it was only used for a handful of national championship runs.

the most succesfull ? ... Relax. I'm a Toyota fan and the most successfull team in history is Lancia.
It's not about beeing fan of a specific team or not. Most scuccessful is about the win rate of this car in this context. It won 42 out of 51 rallys.
If you talk about teams it may look different, you are totally right. Otherwise: four years in WRC and four driver + four team championships isn't that bad, is it?
42EForest it is a successful team but Lancia had 11 championships in 6 years both construction and drivers. no misunderstanding my friend

Don't worry. I do not misunterstand you. Lancia is definitely one of the most successful teams ever. I really like their old rally cars, especially the Stratos.
