    I'm with you Teddy, my fave is the bromiliad, but I do love it all...wish I could come to Sebastian for Teddy's show, but too far from Jax. Used to love to head that way antiquing back in the day when I lived in Lake Placid, then lunch at Capt Hiram's...awesome scores mates...happy planting...!

      Would be so cool to meet you-but yeah that’s a long drive! What antique stores did you like? You remember? We love thrifting too!

      @@IslandsnHighlands I loved going to the old mansion up on the hill, it really took a hit after H. Charlie, can't remember the names of any of them, there even was a really cool bonsai shop, but it was never open, I drooled...most of my inventory comes from the thrifts...you can never have enough stuff...and plants...!

      Oh awesome! There are some good thrift stores in vero we find good stuff at too! I’ll have to look for the old mansion on the hill and see if it’s still around:-)

    I was excited there for a second when I saw the huge Bottle Palm tree with that fat trunk in the garbage can, but then realized it wasnt in the garbage and was just planted in the ground behind it. Now that would have been a score!

    • @IslandsnHighlands
      @IslandsnHighlands  Год назад +2

      Yes that would be killer! A score of a lifetime! Hope you had a great weekend!

    Hi, This question is for your wife. You have a great collection of tillandsia, how did you go about identifying them? I discovered one in a tree and it's huge, at least to me it does.

      @IslandsnHighlands  Год назад +2

      Hey! The airplant collection is really fun! We collected most of our tillandsia from Russell’s Bromeliads in Clermont fl. They identified them for us…or at least I think I matched up the names in my receipt with the plants. We have a video tour of the facility and a video of me showing each one I purchased there. The other ones I have are native varieties that grow in the oak trees in our area. I collect them when they fall out of the trees

    I recently moved to vero beach. Are any of these good for full 🌞? Love your channel.

    • @IslandsnHighlands

      Welcome to the area-Vero beach is a beautiful community! Bromeliads, dracaena, pineapples, dragon fruit…most all these plants grow well in full sun. Bromeliads, dracaena, and ti plant all grow in both full sun or shade. Fruit trees, lemongrass, and bananas all love full sun too!
      When working with free cuttings you will find experimenting can be fun finding the best spot for everything! If ever unsure where to plant something-root cuttings in water and plant in a pot. Place the plant where you think it’ll be happy and wait to plant the pot until it gets acclimated. If it looks sad move it!
