Epic! Absolutely enjoyed this episode and hope to watch you pruning the peach tree back.
Amazed how well the heavily shaded volunteer blueberry bush is doing. Nature never ceases to amaze.

Aww thanks! So glad you enjoyed it! We still haven’t pruned it back yet…I think we need to do the heavy prune in winter after my research…but we still need to cut back the snapped branches. We are still picking good peaches off that tree! I dehydrated some last night and got some more in the freezer. Lots of good fresh ones on the counter too-it really was a good peach year. Yes we were surprised about the blueberries in the woods…we have wild varieties here we pick in the woods too…so I guess they grow naturally that way. The ones in the shade are actually sweeter too! Always nice to hear from you!

@IslandsnHighlands now that's a splendid idea with dehydrating! I'll bet the kids enjoy that too- great textured snax. Have fun and as always, great work. We enjoy learning from you all!

The dehydrated peaches were pretty delicious, maybe could have been a little more ripe to add sweetness

I love Reese's haircut! how old is he? I love how excited he is about growing peppers. does he grow other vegetables besides peppers?

Thanks so much! I actually cut it for him-he and Teddy both wanted mullets…I can’t believe that’s the craze right now but it was fun figuring it out. Reese is almost 10-he is strictly a pepper farmer as of now, but he is hard core with the peppers. He loved hot sauce and anything spicy-he picks each pepper at the perfect ripeness

Hey ya’ll absolutely breathtaking was wondering where about in north Georgia this is I am currently in Arcadia Florida and desperately want to relocate and excited to start my new food forest . Looking for a safe rural area like this with the least populated lol.😊

We love Arcadia- we fossil hunt the Peace River several time a year! Our place in the mountains is almost right on the state line between north GA and western NC. When we purchased it 10 years ago this was a sleepy area- since covid the population up here has probably doubled. While we certainly love it, the area is lacking in some basic services, and almost any medical related issue requires driving a county mile to a larger metro area such as Gainesville, Asheville, Chattanooga or Atlanta. I guess that's the trade-off for less people though :)

@@IslandsnHighlands I have a professionally build school bus bought an acre 10 minutes away from peace river right on horse creek just had ordered everything I needed to start my perfect little food forest, 2 weeks later Ian hit and everything was gone. I did try to start again I have planted several fruit trees but because I lost all my shade from losing most my canopy coverage it’s been too hot for my boy fur baby & I. I never was upset about being alone more than I am now. I agree I love it and wish I could stay there it’s so peaceful and magical but too much work by myself. And definitely not safe for bus life. I do really enjoy watching you all living this dream🙏🏼
