Helpful video, thanks. Cleaning the silicon rubber valve didn't help in my case. When I looked at it carefully I realized the silicon was starting to perish. I found a non-genuine but identical replacement silicon rubber valve at Bunnings. That has sorted out the problem for less than $5.

Nice video!! Prior to finding this video, I had figured out how to detach the blue latch mechanism. I thought maybe it just wasn't turned to the proper position. But what I didn't see, after several attempts to fix a little leak at that spot, was the insert piece with the silicone diagram. Once this video pointed that out, I grabbed it with a pair of tweezers, cleaned it well, put it back in and reconnected the blue latch. No more leak! I didn't need to mess with the filter. I'll save that task for another day.

Perfect! Thank you. I opened the valve to discover the diaphragm had perished. Now to order a new one. Cheers for the tutorial

Thanks, armed with this i got out the rusty valve, disassembled it to bits and now water is flowing again. There was a significant build up of rusty sludge in the pipe leading to the top where the blue diapraghm sits. Thanks👍🏼

Thank you for this. I was puzzled over how to get the valve off and seeing how it rotates about 45 deg and then lifts away has saved me a lot of worry :) been able to get the spares from Geberit (also on other well known sites) and fitted no problems.

This mecanism kept flowing water to fill although already full. I followed the steps, opened everything in pieces, washed. However I was unable to pull the filter out. I changed the mecanism level higher just to change, put it back together and it functions great again. No more nonstop filling.

Just did a simple head seal washed replacement, genuine part and everything now doesn’t work.
Happens every time these things only get a couple of years old or less they crack up !!!!!

Hi, my toilet has suddenly started to fill up very slowly and noisily. It looks like a lot of water is leaking out through the silicone diaphragm. I took off the blue plastic bit and inspected the diaphragm and can see quite a few visible cracks and splits in the silicone. Could these splits in the silicone be the culprit?

      Hi Nathan,
I would suggest to replace the diaphragm and lever. Code is 242.487.00.1. Hope this helps.

Just get a new 1 for under $25 these things are a headache.... not worth the fn around and more often then not will have to anyway... they deteriorate far too quickly... less then 2 years usually🤦🏾‍♂️
