We used Sherwin-William DTM Mannix Bronze paint for this client of ours, and only premium Phifer 18x14 mesh screen. When we went out to see this project it was clear to see that the Pool Enclosure was in need for a restoration. I restore pool cages (I'm on one this week but getting rained out today) and take out rusted Nylo-tec screws all the times. The plastic sleeve does nothing. Steel will rust. I use 304, 410, and Dewalt engineered stainless screws, depending on the situation. 304ss is used on most everything but if it's a large cage with big posts, I'll use the Dewalt screws or the 3/8" 304 ss. I'm just watching videos to see how others paint their cages. I've been using the Graco handheld Ultra Max and am going to buy a Graco Quickshot today to see if I have less troubles like air leaking into the paint cup and spray pattern issues. I just can't haul around a long paint hose and get the whole thing painted in around 3hrs like I do with with the Ultra Max. Of course, prep is everything. That takes half a day with the second half of the day for the painting. btw, I mostly use Tuf-Top Tuf-Trim from Sherwin. DTM and PPG have served me well also but I just stick to the Tuf-Top these days.

Looks Beautiful! You guys did a great job. Quick Question, when you replace old screen that used the Flat Spline in aluminum box framework, as I'm sure you know, flat spline has a flat side and a curved side. Do you guys put the curved side of the spline exposed and visible, or the flat side exposed and visible. I have seen it done both ways, and I have seen many youtube videos where some folks put the curved side into the frame with the flat side facing out and exposed, others put the flat side into the frame and have the curve side exposed and facing out. What is your preference or should I say, what does the manufacturer of the spline recommend? Just curious. My neighbor just redid a bunch of screens on his patio, and we discussed this at great length and now have a bet, LOL Anyway, I would appreciate your take on it.

You have to do a rescreen when you get the enclosure Restoration done. It would be best when the screen is 8-10 years old to have it replaced at that time. We would highly suggest having the enclosure painted rather then spend more on building new you can restore and save .
