    I made two of these in pastel colors (green, yellow, pink) for Easter. I found that 6 feet of each color was way more than I needed.
    For a 9" bracelet, 4.5 feet was needed of the outer colors (9 feet total), and 3 feet of the inner color.
    For an 8" bracelet, 4 feet was needed of the outer colors (8 feet total), and 3 feet of the inner color.

    I learned that if you don't like look of the burns, you can take your fid and thread the cord on the underside about 3 stitches and cut it there. You won't see it since it will be on your wrist and it won't unravel. There is no need to melt the cord, the pressure from the stitch will hold it in place. I can send you some pictures if you want.

    I use a wood burner, it cuts and melts at the same time and creates super clean ends. I'll personally never use a lighter again, just food for thought.

    I love this design! It looks like it should be complicated but it's so simple! The most bang for your buck so to speak :p. I've only just started making paracord bracelets a few days ago and I love your videos. They are so clear and easy to follow. It's great how you pause between each step.
    I didn't even have to rewatch this video multiple times to do it.
    As an added bonus the third colour makes it easy to remember what side you need to be knotting on because it's always the side you've just passed the middle strand over to.

    On the wider buckles I like to double wrap the clove hitch/ cow hitch. To me it just adds a more finished look.

    So this was my first paracord experience and I am happy with the result but you may want to add a note to the rookies like me to keep the slack out of the accent cord (your S&R) as you go. I ended up with a bit of slop on the inside of the bracelet I have to go back and work out. Went with Red, white, and blue with white being the accent.

    I made this bracelet in Red, White, and Blue with the white as the accent/center color and using a gold buckle. My Starting lengths were 60 " / 150 cm of Red. 60" / 150 cm of Blue. 24" / 61 cm of White. Final product is 7.5" / 20 cm wearable. 8" / 20.3 cm opened end to end with the buckles. After cutting and singing I had 25"/ 63.5 cm of Red and 27.5" / 70cm of Blue remaining. There wasn't really enough White remaining to measure, but probably about 2"/ 5cm remaining after cutting. I prefer a very tight weave, so your lengths may not be exactly the same as mine if you prefer a looser weave. Going through the center cords on this weave can cause a tightened bracelet, so I would recommend adding about 1.5" to your bracelet size. If you are making this for yourself, make sure you leave a little bit of comfort size for wearing, plus the extra 1.5". I love this pattern/weave. I have already made 2 different bracelets with different color combinations, and I am already thinking about how to modify it slightly to add a 4th color into the mix so that there are 2 accent colors instead of just one. Paracord On!

    • @nurpman
      @nurpman Год назад

      I do my weaves tight as well and tried these measurements. The white is way off. I needed roughly 36". I didn't actually measure it but I ran way short at 24" and had to splice in the remainder. Very time consuming and it made a slight imperfection in the bracelet but I managed without tearing it apart. you do NOT want this happening to you.

    I made this one and loved it.. I also tried it a little different and it came out pretty cool. What I did was I put the search and rescue on the side of the cord that is going over the middle. Normally you would put it on the other side to start. What that did was insted of it fitting between the V shape of the middle color it was over the point of the V of the middle color making it look like a U shape instead. It does look pretty cool. Very simular but you can tell the difference if you view them side my side. Not sure if you ever tried that yet.. :)

    I have watched almost all of your video's so far.. I started making those bracelets for my wife & myself and almost everyone we know that see's them wants one..
    So since we are both retired & disabled we thought why not make them for extra money, since Social Security barely pays all the bills..

    Thank you! Great video. Sorry to say I tried a two-strand approach before this one and it did not turn out well. Just did your design and it's fool-proof. Because the third strand takes up space, I'd urge people to add three inches to the starting wrist double-strand length (i.e., the core). Used your Mad Max closure, which works great for varying width. Because I learned at the end that I needed more starting length, this closure saved me and it still looks great.

      BoredParacord Your tool is a lacing needle. A fid is used to nondestructively open porous material. An awl is used to cut/puncture material. I've been a leather crafter since 1968. I fed my family doing it for years. Good videos. My comment is intended to help. All the best.

    Great video, I made my first bracket from it and I think it is cool. One question. I measured the length of my bracket and it shorted quite a bit once I was done. How do you measure for the fit of the bracelet?

    • @alliesmommie328
      @alliesmommie328 5 лет назад

      Usually rule of thumb with paracord is 1ft of cord per 1 inch of bracelet. I use a sewing measuring tape to measure wrist and then work off that and will go a little bigger if needed. 7ft total of the bonded cord is needed for a 7in bracelet.. Maybe even go with an extra inch of each color to be safe..
