Dune is such a Fragrance of the Silence. You spray it and suddenly the time stops. I often have my reflective time accompanied by current formulation of Dune edt. It brings so many memories. We are the same age and it makes me wonder „ Is this how 1991 was like?” .

I have always thought of Addict and Dune as being cousins. I love both but only have Dune currently !90s Dior perfumes remain among my favourites of all time (I'm 38). I think Dune deserves so much more love and is actually perfect for the young ones banging on about 'old money style' on Tik Tok these days. 😀 I will be devastated if they discontinue this. Dune, Addict, Hypnotic Poison and Pure Poison all need Unicef Heritage status protection so they can never be discontinued.

I am almost glad I've unintentionally missed this. I might cry, so overwhelmed by this. There is nothing like Dune, for me not even close. And I've loved wearing Obsession, Eternity and Escape from that time, as well as L'Eau par Kenzo and JPG. Dune I wear still. Loved the ads too, the bottle, the colors, all of it. There is softness to it, but it's not cute, and mesmerizing breeziness. I am glad you have it, it is in good hands and it is the first time I actually envy you.

I own this in the extrait two times over! (In the 5 and 15 ml glass dabber containers). I love it so much. Dune remains one of my favorites.

I am so enjoying smelling this vintages vicariously through you 💖 Current Dune is one of the few classic Diors I still enjoy. I must have an interesting smell association because neither Apres L'Ondee nor Dune make me sad. I find them elegant and nostalgic...more peaceful than melancholy.
What makes me feel sad is the craftsmanship and energy that used to be expended for the sake of art (not just in perfume) that has now been replaced with an obsession with industry. That is what makes these vintages truly special.

My older sister's bottle of Dune was standing in our bathroom and I sometimes took off the cap and smelled the bottle. It was divine! I did not even dare spraying some even though I could have asked her and she would not have minded for sure. I was so much in awe at the time that it didn't even occur to me that that would have been an option.
Good perfume was something still very special at the time and it was not worn every day. It was like some precious jewels that one put on for special occasions. The comparatively few releases of the important perfume houses were awaited with well deserved high hopes.

Frankly, speaking for myself, I’d never spend hundreds and hundreds or even thousands of $$$ for a niche perfume like Roja, Clive Christian or even Xerjoff. I’d rather invest my money in the old perfumes in vintage classics. Now to me, I would spend good money on the originals. It’s like comparing Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren to Kim Kardashian or Angelina Jolie 😆😅😍

@@Persolaisetrying to hunt down the esprit…I was actually pleasantly surprised that there are soooo many vintage Poisons out there ( with lower prices than the current formulation! Wow ) so happy I found that! But can’t find the Dune esprit ! 😢
Would love to see more of your acquired vintage collection! Byzance, Dune, Venezia, Tendre Poison, Tuscany Per Donna, D&G (red cap)and Samsara were some of my top favourites back in the 90’s!

Dune is quite peppery and sometimes in its vintage eau de toilette version has nuances of freshly baked bread with lightly sprinkled herbs .. and a relatively strong aniseed accord that is very prevalent in the latest reformulation of dune edt. Best regards 😊

There are a few being sold in various places on the net.
I hope esprit de parfum is quite similar to kingdom by Alexander McQueen. I have a vintage eau de toilette of dune, the splash version and it does not smell like kingdom.

Great video, convinced me of getting a sample. I’d been trying to get the scent in my head by just reading reviews / descriptions, which seemed all over the place.
I like, and wear, Mugler Womanity and Alien, so not looking for a male version. However, how’d you compare it to Dior Dune for men?
Dune For Men is a totally different construction: a fig-centred cologne. Still very good, though.
I only have the new version of Dune EDT. I quite like it a lot. What i do love though, is the current version of the Dior Addict EDP (originale). It’s gorgeous.
I forget which is the blue bottle. Is that the edp? The blue bottle is the one that’s closer to the original.
@@Persolaise yes it’s the tall blue bottle, the EDP. It’s closer to the original version.
The modern version of Dune is entirely underrated, IMO. I have several vintage and current bottles and the current still holds up. It gets way too much hate, I think.
Really did enjoyed Obsession back in the day and Eternity too but no urge to try again now but maybe should revisit Dune and see if I still dislike it .

Completely off topic but as I recall your deep love of cardamom I wanted to share a recent discovery from a perfume house called Kerosene. The fragrance is called Sweetly Known and could aptly provide you with a Cardamom/Coriander fix. It is, however, tooth achingly sweet so be warned. Rather childlike really.

I have had Dune back in the day but it isn’t to my taste ‘ it was a bit too oceanic. Possibly would feel differently now .

Oh no I love obsession for MEN but NOT women
and not eternity ? Gave me horrible headaches?
…I hope Dune doesn’t smell a thing like that? 😢and oddly enough some same obsession smells like opium but maybe the men’s not the women’s ? Odd my mom wore it and I just couldn’t take it but the men’s has a sweetens that softens it. Someone told me Dune was woody ?
