As a 🇨🇦 who lives in beautiiful British Columbia I was thrilled that John featured this penultimate explorer yacht that was originally built by Burrard Drydock in the heart of Vancouver, BC which of course sits that the mouth of the mighty Fraser River named after the British explorer, Simon Fraser. This is a fitting name for this yacht given her roots. Beautiful video John, thank you for featuring this 🇨🇦 built yacht.
Thanks Doug 🙌 🇨🇦
This is a wonderful example of how to travel on our oceans, amazing boat mate, cheers. 😊
ex CCGS Simon Fraser. Nice to see it live on ♥
Only one word for this yacht. Stunning
41.5 mill ? Pocket change ! Now , I’ve just have got to find the pair of pants with the big pockets . . .
Morn'n Johnno. For me there is a point in the size of a vessel where the larger it gets it starts to become a "Cruise Ship". The perspective of this vessel gives me this impression. Big is not always better or beautiful. Like your home, there is a relationship - subconsciously or not - between you and the space you live in. Would you say living in a hotel is "Intimate"? In many, if not all Palaces and mansions you will see the owners have created an apartment to live in. This is not recent, many were done 100s' of years ago. From experience, i find many people with space end up gravitating to a few rooms.....near the kitchen. A Presto Giovanni, Colazione attende.
Morn'in shipmate - thanks for watching and leaving a comment :-)
Beautiful vessel, but the toys on the front side of the vessel might be in danger when green water comes over the deck when sailing in heavy seas.
Absolutely beautiful 🎉
Nice little boat
A beautiful place to call home. @🇨🇦
No one but a billionaire could afford this yacht/ship.
Agree 👍🏼
Outstanding! Beautiful!
Glad you like it!
I absolutely would like to be able to afford something like this. My old 36 Carver doesn't hold a candle, but I have water skied behind it LOL. love your channel.
I do like the Carver’s 😀 thanks for watching and thanks for the kind comment re my channel 🙌 I appreciate it 👍
@@YachtBuoy My pleasure. I also love the wheelhouses on these magnificant yachts and the engine rooms are amazing. TY for your very interesting videos.
For me that’s the yacht fantastic thank you very much for the video,, amazing work you do all the time please keep it up,
Thanks, will do!
Fantastic! I’ve been looking for info on her. Very different for Benetti!
I Can’t wait to see her launched 🙌
@@YachtBuoy For sure!!! 💪⛴⚓️
I'd live on that if that was mine
That’s just amazing
Thank you for another great video 😎
Thanks for watching 👍
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
It's missing one important thing forward sloping windows on the bridge who ever designed that boat must be smoking crack
Really, good observation!
Negitive degree windows are the best !!
She's absolutely beautiful 😍
Love these videos - please keep them coming! We want to see you aboard one of these super yachts!
Thanks for watching 🙌 fingers crossed, it won’t be long 🤞
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
🙌
Did you find out if this awesome yacht has been launched yet?
Negative - no word just yet.
@@YachtBuoy ok this is a fantastic yacht, could you please when you can let me know and if you have or get anymore footage please, and thank you for showing this yacht out of all of the yachts you show this is the best yet,,
Amazing yacht except for one small Achilles's Hell...the "beach club". These are find for yat-chets putt-putting around the Med or Keys, but for something that's designed to go into the Arctic or Antarctic for extended periods, they're a danger point that isn't worth the risk. Now, if it was a sealed compartment with zero access to any interior parts of the ship, I could be convinced to change my outlook, but for now, if it was mine, it would be welded closed and turned into something else.
Even though it's been hacked in half, a plug added, and completely refurbished, it's still a 62 year old hull...That's a lot of coin for something that old.
I was trying to find some pictures of her from the 60’s but couldn’t find anything. It would be interesting to know her history
@@YachtBuoy Agreed! There's one picture of what she probably looked like before the rebuild - it was where she was a cream color and being pushed into the build house. It looks like they cut the hull forward of the superstructure, added a plug, and either added a deck or two to the superstructure or just completely removed and rebuilt it.
I keep watching, she's absolute beautiful 😍
🙌🫡
That big open vulnerable bow is a BIG problem if you intend to go to high latitudes or the tropicals during cyclone season. I have had anchor windlass steam piping crushed, ship's bell ripped from the foremast, and catwalks twisted like foil. I would NEVER store anything more fragile than a blacksmith's anvil on that foredeck.
Congratulations I really enjoy you channel
Thanks 🙌 I appreciate it 👍
That's a nasty bit of ☀️ mate.......LOL
Your the first viewer who noticed 😂 and that was only 15 minutes in the sun - that ozone layer must be getting thiner and thiner 😂
For such a price, I would have expected the helipad not to be a T&Go type but a heliport with garage space underneath, such as the one configured on T6. The rest looks awesome.
Thanks for watching 🙌
🥰
I think that when it costs more to crew and run your yaght than what most people's yaghts cost.....your yaght has become a "ship"
Bad pictures guy!
The sale price is almost inconsequencial compared to the yearly operating cost. With any yacht, if the purchase price makes you balk even the slightest, you absolutely cannot afford to operate it. A yacht this size would cost between $5 to $8 million a year to own, depending on how much it is used. Double that if you want to run it year round.
It seems that motor yacht designers and builders feel the need to put rather obvious, and…looking like an afterthought swim platforms on the stern ,they always look intrusive, and spoil lines of the vessel..I look at this as a retired marine engineer of 40 years.i may be somewhat old fashioned, but hey that is my style.Roly 🇬🇧.
Wow - 40 years as a marine engineer 🙌 I take my hat off to you ⚓️ that’s some serious experience
Okay, Simon Fraser is not Ragnar but 11000 NK mile range is very appealing. Yacht Buoy you really do have to stop with all this eye candy you are showing. (:
😂 I can’t help it - there are too many amazing boats and motor yachts out there ⚓️🛥
Is this vessel for sale now or is it already purchased by someone?
As far as I am aware, she is currently for sale.
Are benetti building her or are they the designers of her?
❤❤👌👌
I have to wonder where the name came from. My wife has a Simon Fraser in her family tree.
👌
What I wouldn't give...
Please show the engine rooms
Is this a relative of Mike Whetstone of Coastal Yachts Originating in California??? Please Contact me if you are Related. Thank you Lawrence Trapani (Larry) Able Marine. Met you in Ft Myers Remember?????
That’s not me
@@YachtBuoy Thank You.
Unless the sub has arms/manipulators on it, it's pretty much a pointless expense that takes up space.
Not to be negative, but I can't envision who would have a use for these yachts. Can you imagine living aboard with your wife and a crew of 6 or 12? It would just be weird.
ooof the interiors are already dated :/
Agreed. But that can be fixed. It's that sweet, SWEET Ice breaking hull that's the star of this show-alo g with the 11,000 NM range.
🙌
Love this one John. Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell the castle, my two Ferraris and my private jet...yeah too much of a sacrifice. Many thanks for the upload. And yes I'm subbed to your channel. Atb mate.
Thanks for becoming a subscriber 🙌 I appreciate it 👍 if you have a spare RIB floating around once you have off-loaded your fleet, then I would like to volunteer to ‘look after’ it 😁
@@YachtBuoy unfortunately I lent my RIB to someone. Can't remember who. I.D is easy. It's bright orange. Name on the stern B.S.
Take care mate.
She is beautiful. Wonder how long it will take me to save up $39,000,000.? The only changes I'd want to do is to add a hard top over the sun deck and cram as many solar panels or solar sheets on her as possible, especially since she is already powered by electric motors
