It may look "simple" and even a little bit "bland" in its design for some, both interior and exterior, but to me, that's actually part of its charm. This looks like an actual *ship* rather than a "sedan for the sea" like some other modern yachts.

Lovely ship. But for that price point id like to see a CIWS on deck and a fire control interface. Just in case you bump into overzealous somali pirates who think. "ooooh a rich person lets take over"....... burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. problem solved. Not sure that General Dynamacs and BAE systems cater to the civilian boat market. But the Russians have some cool toys that would work.
Owners cab and deck are stupendous! I can imagine saying to one of your guests “pop on up to my place after dinner, if you’d like!” What’s better than owning a floating boutique hotel? (that’ll take you from the Mediterranean to the Antarctic!) My feet would never touch shore again!
What an insanely cool yacht, a steal at this price I think. Loving the owners deck. @Fraser please keep it up with the captain walktroughs these are great.
No idea on the original cost of the yacht but after it sold in Dec 2020 this was on an article about it. "The last known asking price for motor yacht Marcato was $9,890,000, after she spent 452 days on the market as a yacht for sale."
You get asked what is was built as alot, because it looks like it started life on the Deadliest Catch, and was converted to a luxury yacht. It's a beautiful ship for sure. Most yacht owners call them ensuites not heads, on my boat we call them heads...navy background I guess. Good walkthrough!!!
On my yacht we call them toilets if they are just toilets only and bathrooms if they are shower rooms with toilets, must be my middle class background. Sometimes of we are daring we call toilets loos
Sean I somewhat agree with you. If you look at say the "Northwestern" It was specially built for Crab fishing by " Sig's" Dad. The ship style after high decking is built just this way for LONG cruising. To the waters like "Deadly Catch" does. Seattle to the northern Bearing sea. Don't know if you saw some of the show, when they became a Floating STORE house for Alaskan salmon fishing. The "Northwestern" becoming a haul tender. Then also a floating Hotel if you will. It gives the small salmon fishing commercial fishing guy a SHOWER, and STORE. To resupply thier basic needs. Some of the smaller Alaska fishing vessels don't have SHOWER. Just a toilet On board. Very basic work boat. So the Northwestern" is a multi purpose vessel, to make money for "Sig" off crab season. And small Salmon fish guys don't have to return to the dock to unload Salmon. There are very few Cannery left in Alaska to unload at anymore. Floating Tenders (crab boats off season) are the right match. The Design of these super yachts for far off exploring are Designed after lots of purpose built crab fishing. Lots of Crabbers vessels are old WW-2 OILERS. Type built vessels. Their hull design was built for conversation to crabbing vessels. The (Wizard) for example. An old NAVY oil supply vessel conversion to the crabbing fleet.
For a 140' yacht I'm surprised at how small the Salon, Sky Lounge, and Owners cabin and head are. And not a jacuzzi bathtub, or bathtub, on the yacht. A very niche design, but another refit might help. Respect to the Captain for an immaculate yacht.
It's a trawler style, so a large area is dedicated to the toys. Tenders, that is Large Tenders that can take you through Arctic waters without issues, in comfort, no one wants some dirty iceberg ruining their day Titanic style. So the more areas dedicated to the toys, the less areas available for cabins and guests and living areas. It's not for living aboard for years, but maybe a year at a time.

Hey, thanks for the wonderful presentation. It seems, however, that the interior dimensions are small than the massive exterior dimensions would lead you to believe. Is there missing space?
It's a trawler style, it's the big chunk up front for what if storage. This is a commercial vessel masquerading as a cruising yacht, the front area is big enough to store 3 across or even 6 40 ft containers, as the man said it was built in a commercial shipyard, it will have 100% duty cycle engines, not 25% like most cruisers. That means the main engines can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, not a 8 hr or single 24 hr run before maintenance. Everything is big, think of it as a fishing boat, off shore goes out for weeks at a time, that's this puppy. Humans were an after thought.
@@РустамХак Yes I became obsessed with sailing yachts after researching how inefficient (and slow) trawlers are. Basically the same speed nearly, yet wind does the job for free.
