    If you were going to do a polar region cruise, this is the yacht to do it in. It looks classy in an understated way but also clearly means business in terms of durability and safe design. I envy her next owner!

    Love the over all classic nautical exterior look and colors. Looks like something from early 20th century almost. That durable classic style is becoming more in vogue.

    She's one of the best designed yachts I have seen. I don't care for the interior design at all. On the other hand, if I could afford the ship, I would certainly redo the interior.
    Thanks for the great video.

    Loved it as usual thanks again. You should take a look at Itaska. An olde but goodie, A super long range ice class yacht by Dutch Yachting by J&K Smit in 1961 refit 2017. Somewhat described as an ocean going tug with a deck helicopter. Not touch and go but 13,000 km range earth cruising machine, built for the adventures in all of us.

    There was a couple that made videos from Yersin. They went to the south pole. Did the polar plunge and all that. I don't remember the name of the channel. But their videos were pretty ok.

    Wonderful expedition yacht, obviously for charter market.
    Have a look at the 44m Baron Trenck explorer, an odd design/layout not for everyone but it would suit me, and some odd range figures

    I would be interested in better understanding the difference between where you can go with an ice class hull vs. merely a steel hull. Where can a regular steel ship go and how thick can the new surface ice be. Can the vessel still go to the Arctic in the summer? Can it go where there is loose ice? I have sailed the east coast of Greenland to Thule without any ice in the summer as all ice had been swept up the west coast of Greenland by the current and then crowded the east coast of Baffin Island. Our ship was ice class and we delivered supplies through the Eastern, Central and High Arctic.

    She is a beautiful Yacht and offers so much where do I start. I love that this yacht has a movie theatre and a super ice class yacht. I love the digital mapping table that was very nice to see something you don’t see to often.
    I watched the video a second time I liked the yacht that much. I noticed the second time it looks like there’s a Radar or something right up at the Bow of the ship. Would that not be a questionable location during a stormy voyage.

    I also want to see the whole engine room. I also like to know her top speed and range. Lastly you made a comment about having a lab onboard. I don't have the funds to buy her, but if I did I'd see about running her as a research ship. I was sad to see the research ship in Seattle Washington USA, that was half way done broken up when her owner died before she was completed.

    Mornin me 'ole salty sea dog. I'll try and be grown up and objective, promise. The specification of this boat is what should be the reference for ANY boat that want's to call itself an "Expedition" vessel, not withstanding the interior design. (You know me by now). But.... i find with all vessels on the market for personal or domestic pleasure there is a size dimension factor. As a good analogy it's like living at home in a 4bed detached house and living in a hotel. Your living space should have a personal intimacy - you know, be cozy. When i look at these larger vessels' i feel they are impersonal, cold, functional etc. How many people do you know that have a Gym, a spa, a massage room, a hairdresser, multiple wet bars dotted around their home. No, exactly. For me, part of the ethos of purchasing this type of vessel is adventure and exploration - jeans, boots, snorkels and flippers etc. Not looking your best every 5mins for hosting "intimate dinner parties", or ready for a bit of retail therapy on Antarctica's finest shops. For this reason i think anything over a keel length of 40m is unnecessary as all you end up doing is filling its interior space with nonsense - massage parlours perleese. Even with 40m vessels you tend to see spaces filled up with sofas. Viewers of your superb channel will know what i mean if they have ever experienced a cross channel ferry and felt its space. Gotta go, i can hear the coffee maker calling me. Laters cap'n.

  • @chuckbecker4983

    Beautiful vessel, but let's be real: 40cm ice thickness is just barely "ice classed".

    Any serious expedition yacht requires a helipad and hanger, preferably large enough for 2 choppers, to support heliskiing and exploration activities. It would also require at least one sub capable of at a minimum 500 meters.

    • @Beruang07
      @Beruang07 Год назад

      A helicopter does not fit with the environmental friendly promotion off this yacht. But yeah a sub would probably be nice to have onboard, given there is crew onboard that can maintain and run it.

    • @tommyzDad
      @tommyzDad Год назад +1

      @@Beruang07 I'm betting folks will be cursing the decision to not have a helo when an emergency requiring air evac occurs.
      Decisions decisions: save a life or worry about impacting the environment. If one is so worried about the environment then don't bring your big ass boat in the first place -- stay away! SMH.

    • @Beruang07
      @Beruang07 Год назад

      @@tommyzDad It seems like you got the impression that i am against heli on board? I am not, but this boat promote itself to be environmental friendly, so I would guess that's the reason for no heli onboard.

    I think the Pendennis Yacht "Steel" comes closest. There's only one crappy video of her but there's some good interior shots available. There's a similarity in profile and a parallel mission. "Steel" is 180' and is listed for 32 million dollars.
