First Real Country artist in so many years that loves music, creates great music and is bringing the sound we all grew up listening to back to stay!! We Love you Charley Crockett and we long to get to see you live again!! Thank you so much for doing this honest interview with a true living legend❤❤❤
Likely have watched this interview 3 or more times now. This man is truly what is keeping country going. People like Sturgill and Charley the "industry" cannot have as charley made pretty clear here. Big fan from Canada and your helping my dream Charley. Keep going. One day I wanna listen to "Odessa on my mind" in Odessa. JM
27:10 Metropolitan Ave stop is where I met Charley years ago - I only remember because it was my first time down there. I’d gotten kicked out of Union Sq. by Morgan O’Kane because I’d started playing at one end of the platform not knowing he was at the other end. I headed to Lorimer/Metropolitan because it was next on the list of recommended stops given to me by my busker friends - 9-10 min gaps between trains. That’s a captive audience! I was playing that platform for maybe 3 hrs when I noticed this guy with a guitar sitting and listening while all the trains came and went. Thought he was a new fan. He complimented me a few times, and then eventually he politely said, “I can tell you’re new. Saw you playing about 3 hrs ago here - you know we keep it to about a 2 hour shift down here. Mind if I take my turn?” He told me he had just left 2nd Ave on the F line and it was probably still open if I wanted it. So on I went.
I first heard CC a few years ago on KNON. Before they had announced who it was, I honestly thought the song was from around 1966. The production was convincing. I'm a huge fan, and love his diversity. One minute he's doing hardcore Texas country, then he sounds like he recorded in Motown in 1970. He's unreal. Real music is still alive and well.
Same here except when my boyfriend and I first started dating he kept saying his name over and over telling me oh you wait until you hear Charley. I was shown Jamestown ferry on RUclips and I will remember that moment on because he was exactly correct about him! We then went to rhythm and roots in Bristol TN or Bristol VA. I say either in 2021 and my boyfriend was so excited I thought he would actually cry when I bumped us up closer to the stage and he was so close when Charley got off his bus and walked up on stage that he almost knocked me over with excitement as he was proud to "introduce" him to me! Lol I say this because my boyfriend loves him so and is a musician himself...he blew us/me away!! I will always remember that day!! Thank you Charley Crockett and I also loved Freddie fender!!❤️❤️❤️
love this interview... Charley is a great showman and sometimes it's hard to cut through the showmanship and find out who he really is... I think this interview is showing us
One of my most favorite interviews ever. Now i know how much he loves Bill Withers. A WV native like myself. We know hardtimes 🎵 😉 💪 ❤ Can't wait to see Charley in Pittsburgh July 15th! 🎉💃 My birthday present to myself 🥳✨️💕
That was the most profound fulfilling interesting interview I've heard in a long time I actually stopped the interview a few times to think..That hit me hard Charley was speaking to me on occasion..different problems but speaking language I understand..the guy has a lot to say and share..Thanks Charlie you improved my life with some of these lessons..best wishes my man🙏 Great interview Drew one of the best I've heard...so much to learn 👍 I'm from the valley (Alice, Texas and lived in Houston but I live in Colorado now.. I need more stories dude Is definitely a story teller ✌️ to you Charley I probably sound crazy but that affected me for real...
To this day I question if I'm good enough and now I'm 70....I guess I spent too many years questioning myself??? Charlie states "he never thought he wasn't good enough"
Charlie I wish I could have met you years back at the old top rail in Waco when James hand would be there that would have been the perfect combination.
What album did he record here? I’m super excited if it’s the next. If im not wrong I believe his most recent album released ( 10$ Cowboy) was recorded in Austin. Great interview, Charley is the man.
I remember that Stevie Ray Vaughn interview. Very intense. Stevie answered perfectly. I'm still mad that 2020 took Bill Withers. He would have LOVED Charley.
Just finally met Charley one on one last week before his show at the Hampton casino ballroom in New Hampshire and man oh man does this dude shine. Gave him a Skyview Ranch Crockett covers T shirt and asked if it was ok for us to be covering all his songs on RUclips and he said “hell yeah man, y’all makin any money?” Haha still has me laughing, I love this man to death and would take 1,000 bullets for him and his people
Grrreat talk! 🎶 Interesting that Audrey transitioned on the Bill Withers birthday (July 4th); and her $eed was fruit for the birth of anew life in music with fruit of an album!
So as in where he said he believes in a creator is he talking about god the creator as a Christian obviously only 1 creator or does he have a different POV of a creator and believes in a little different?
The interviewer is putting on a greeeeeat vibe and you can tell by the way how focused Charley is talkin, that he is picking up on that

The more I hear from and about Charley, the more I like this dude. I can’t wait to see him live.
His catalog is insane, he puts on a live show that’s nothing like you’ve seen. His story makes it even better
In a time of such conflict and uncertainty Charley is so authentic. His artistry brings so much beauty to life

Charley oozes cool. Great interview, very interesting character! Seeing him live in a week, looking forward to being further inspired.

Charlie is the best. Nice to see him getting his due.
@2:41" I'm in the alley with the ghost" 🙌 He comes wirh the right spirit for creation and gratitude
Amazing line in Music City USA.
Thank you for the interview, I found Charley Crockett's work years ago. Good art, like smoke, travels where doors and windows cannot block.
Very cool
Legends never die
What a stud
Every song on every album is PRIMO
Great interview. 20 year test, King George stands up to that point!
I was weird like Neil Young when I met Charley 😂. One of my favorites of ALL TIME!! A very special musical ARTIST. Indie hero.
Charlie I wish I could have met you years back at the old top rail in Waco when James hand would be there that would have been the perfect combination.
WACO was record of the year in my life!!!
A case of gone is all she carried Could be the best line in country music history as far as I’m concerned.
Great interview...
L❤VE you Charley!!!

Yes amazing Interview. Drew Dempsey great job! Was 10$ Cowboy recorded at Sunset?

$10 Cowboy was all done in Austin... Guess he already has the next one done -- incredible!! $10 Cowboy is amazing, can't wait for the next!
I think that he already has 2 albums done after $10 Cowboy. I heard that a Willie Nelson cover album might be coming. Not 100% sure of that one.
He definitely recorded his next record with Shooter. He was talking about it a few nights ago in Toronto.
I remember that Stevie Ray Vaughn interview. Very intense. Stevie answered perfectly. I'm still mad that 2020 took Bill Withers. He would have LOVED Charley.
