Coach. I love this because I want my Jiu-Jitsu not to get me kicked in the face while passing. How do you recommend to get them flattened when they're in seated guard.
Your "grilled chicken" argument is invalid if the person does not play it correctly, your points are not necessarily wrong in that scenario but against the proper guard it would be a different story.
Great movement but could be taught without 15 minutes of explanation or invoking the mysticism of Rickson Gracie :D. Interesting how alot of Rickson bb don't understand what rickson does firsthand and have to have it explained by others and dissect it decades later. Good movements nonetheless
Yeah, I'm at one of two Rickson affiliate locations. And I can tell you a lot had to do with his slowness with getting a real command of English language.
Don’t buy into this bullshit. JiuJitsu has evolved tremendously from the days of Rickson. Just so everyone knows, the two concepts of Rickson’s guard passing is 1) Pressure 2) Angle shifting. One of Ricksons BB using the analogy of an avalanche. Unfortunately, these people fail to realize that the guard has evolved also. Guard play has evolved in a way where it nullifies this concept of just pressure and angles. High percentage guard passing today not only requires pressure and angle shifts, but also proper grips, strategy and knowledge of modern day guards to know how to decipher them. Not to say these two concepts don’t work, because they do, but only on low level/ skill guys. People use examples of Rickson going through high level guys...well Rickson was beyond his time! No way in HELL, even in his prime would he go through the guards of Keenan, Lo, Miyao, Musumeci, Meregali etc. Fun fact: One of Rickson’s best black belts declined to roll with a modern day high level ibjjf black belt for fear of being embarrassed and tooled with.
The guy on bottom can do a technichal stand up and just scramble back to square one, its not stopping from doing a technical stand up
Brilliant. Worked on this concept today and it's simply brilliant...
pure gold! Henry is the man
where can we see or purchase the rest
Where can i see/purchase the rest of the video?
I get bored passing the same way.. after 23 years of jiujitsu I like to try different guard passes just so I don’t get bored
What makes the guard player from going to deep half? It’s nice but won’t work for good half guard players
what if the guy on the ground simply kicks you in the nuts like a mule? or kick your knees and break them?
@@eddiehazard3340 it will get interesting...outside the safety of the dojo
@EddieHazard if you can't handle people in the safety of the "dojo" what makes you think you stand a chance without it?
Maybe some of your black belts don't default to this because they don't see it as rock solid technique. Just a guess.

If they're in seated guard u dont really have to worry about a kick to the face

Yes, PLEASE make this the topic for next year. Great stuff mate.

HEAVY BREATHING
I think that has more to do with how the mic was set up. Audio seems to be a constant struggle.
@@sbgipdx 🤨
In a real fight , why would the person in guard, have his feet anywhere but kicking the opponent’s groin ?
There is probably a school near you that would let you try this. I think you would be surprised with the result.
@@sbgipdx I’m far too old to even try , just curious. Thanks

That was a joke
😂
Better hope the guard player makes zero grips
RyanG you ever tried jiu jitsu? It does man haha.
RyanG try it on some with a good guard for once.
RyanG obviously longer than you
RyanG that black belt has won nothing of consequence. there is a reason why actual world champions don’t teach stuff like this. Pay attention man.
