When a person has dementia they can start getting really frustrated & aggressive. It isn't easy to recognize at first...it just seems like they're moody & irritable & argumentative.
At this age to be making this poor decision let alone a judge, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. My condolences to the family, especially the children.
Probably not, if he goes to prison which he probably will, they will probably send him out of state. All states hold compacts with other states to trade prisoners for special cases like this.
This is why if you can’t control your emotions or you lash out in anger you shouldn’t keep or own guns. It’s all too easy to lose your temper or control and pull out a gun in anger and you end up with a tragedy like this. Now his wife lost her life and he will probably spend his golden years in prison. And the family just lost both parents.
