The Lake - Mike Oldfield

- This version has two streams of work: the playback (all the virtual instruments, including drums, synthesisers, etc...) and the actual guitars.
The first one was developed ocasionally over the lasts years and has been recently polished and perfectioned. The guitars were all recorded by me last 13th of October with my Fender & Ibanez guitars & Spanish Admira one.
I feel quite satisfied with this work as this is a tune I've always had deep in my heart. It's one of the most special pieces of music I've ever heard. I know some guitar takes are slightly tricky but specially in a 4th double one the neck of my guitar was running short for one fret!!!!
I've put in the video a graphic of the instruments on the 'Taurus II' fashion should somebody want to have a glace at the whole picture as I've worked it out. The two upper tracks are for the playback & the rest is the guitars.
I'd be more than glad to receive some feedback from this work as well as well intentioned critics as well. Always aiming to improve. Check out for more cover versions & original music at this RUclips channel.

I do not have technical knowledge of music, only listen to it and admire it. This is one of the most beautiful symphonic pieces of olfield. Sincesarmente I congratulate you for giving you such a challenge so satisfactorily.
The Lake is class. One of his best compositions. I like listening to covers of artists I like and this is very good.

Oh my god, very good version, I was fooled until the virtual instruments kicked in about 7 and half minutes into the song. Great job mate! It must've felt like a dream playing that 8:45-9:45

Dude, a lot of work clearly went into this, so WHY did you not tune your guitars? Especially in the final part. I really do not say this to be mean in any way, but the guitars are so of that it kind of ruins the piece. You did so much great that the part at 08:40 really makes me wonder what you were thinking? You also need to work on taming those cymbals...

quite good, all in all,.. but.. you better enhance your timings, and next time consult with a real drummer, with parts concerning drumming.. and more echo to certain parts, it gives the feeling of space and depth.. =)
