Wesley’s character arc over the two shows is one of my two favorites in all of television (the other is on the Battlestar Galactica reboot). What they do with him is just amazing, and Alexis Denisof is terrific in the part.
Rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel episodes along with Passion of the Nerd's recaps and analysis is always mind blowing. It's like a whole new experience.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favorite show of all time and Angel is a very good spin off. Idk if you've seen Ian's (passionofthenerd) video on why you should watch buffy but it's a great one too. And his episode guides for both shows are really well done. Fun, witty, and serious all at the same time. Kind of like the Buffyverse itself.
I have liked every single Whedon show, as much as I hate the man himself. Firefly is amazing and more people should watch it. Dollhouse was another wild show of his that went on for 2 seasons I believe.
I feel like if you aren’t watching Angel along with Buffy you miss the full character arcs of so many characters that bounce between the two shows like Faith, Darla, Dru, Spike, Anne, Harmony and more. Plus the amazing character growth of Angel, Cordelia and Wesley. As for Firefly, it’s my least favorite of the Whedon shows (minority opinion I know) but I’m just not hugely into Westerns in general. I actually think Dollhouse is better than Firefly.
Sadly, we lost another one of our brilliant satirists, John Bird, who used to partner the late John Fortune in some marvellous interview sketches. Taking it in turns, in each, to play interviewer and politician, they equalled Yes Minister in some insisive comedy sketches. John Fortune passed away around the festive season nearly a decade ago. Damn it. We seem to be losing everyone at the moment.
Ack! Huge gigantic mega-spoiler in the thumbnail 😳 edit to add I've subbed and really hope you watch all of Buffy... and consider Dollhouse, full of actors from other Whedon shows.
As much as I agree that there are parts of season 4 that make me cringe, the run of episodes from Awakening to Orpheus are amazing. Even as the worst season of Angel, I rate it above most of Buffy season 6 and a good chunk of 7 as well.
As soon as he started talking about the final episode I started crying again. This show is amazing!
My main common denominator in both shows was my enjoyment of Spike.
Spike was my favourite in Buffy, in Angel my heart was divided between him and Wesley, Wesley's character development is just wow!
Spike is probably the 2nd best character on BTVS. On Angel he's like 5th.

Angel is my favorite character in the buffy/Angel universe, loved his growth from season 1 to five, such a awesome character to watch on screen.
Angel season 5 kills me. So good
Both shows are top notch but very different. Love them both.

I can't hate the man
Good to see you doing more buffyverse reactions! Passion of the Nerd's deep dive analysis videos of Buffy and Angel are excellent.
I never saw detective work as so unusual for a vampire. Both involve hiding one's identity and sneaking around at night.

Please watch Buffy and Angel it's worth it. Yes I'd love to see you react to them but above that I just want you to see them.
I was a bits and bobs kind of guy and kind of enjoyed it...maybe I should try it again

Firefly is awesome! Dollhouse is awesome! Angel is awesome! Buffy is the most awesome of all!
Loved Buffy, hated Angel. The humour from Buffy just didn't hit the same for me in Angel.
Love your honesty❤
