BEE GEES - Jive Talkin' 1975 (Drum Cover)

Jive Talkin' was the 1st big disco hit for The Bee Gees. It came BEFORE the Saturday Night Fever hits and did NOT feature them doing falsetto harmonies over dance beats.
I prefer "Jive Talkin' " and "Nights on Broadway" to those. Jive Talkin' hit #1 in America on August 9, 1975 and was a comeback of sorts for them.
The Bee Gees got inspiration from an unlikely place: the Julia Tuttle Causeway bridge. “Every night, we were going back and forth to Criteria Studios from Biscayne Bay,” Barry Gibb explained, describing the band’s commute. “The bridge made a clickety-clackety sound. It stayed in my head, and one night, coming back from the studio, I just started singing this thing over top of the rhythm.”
It was called "Drive Talking" in its early stages but was changed to “Jive Talkin'” after Barry accidentally sang “Ji-Ji Jive Talkin'” while recording.
Looking for a "High" Beginner/"Low" Intermediate level song with a Funky groove to try....this could be it!
I tried this one about a year ago and just couldn't hang with it but this time around it was much more within reach.
Drumming wise Jive Talkin' has a simple classic disco "4 on the floor" beat in the verses and has a super funky groove in the choruses which really makes this song fun to learn and play.
Growing up in the 70's and 80's (I was 8 when this song came out) I always thought this was a cool sounding song but like many of us I didn't want to let on that I thought it was that good. Years later we all realize the greatness of all the music of those days as they have stood the test of time!
If you have 1-2 yrs. experience behind the kit give it a try!
