And it will hurt for a long time. But even through the struggling and the pain and the depression that it gave me, it was still worth it. I could not have been me had I stayed with the person who I thought loved me. I could not do the things I wanted out of fear of being shut out. It took my best friend two and a half years to help me realize my own worth and that sometimes the pain of letting go is the lesser pain. Please choose wisely. I see a ying and yang symbolism here as the theme for the video. The white Aurora represents the future, hope and positiveness as she is claiming upward towards the sky. Whilst the other Aurora in black below represents the past, negativity and pain, as she climbs downwards towards the sea. Both sides need to exist to make something whole. Her music has had a huge impact on my life. I only discovered her a couple of weeks ago, but in those two weeks my depression has been lifted and my mood has dramatically improved. Tears are coming down at this song and this video. Oh my gosh! That was absolutely incredible! I'm guessing that the concept of the video is like a cycle, with the AURORA in white representing purity while the one in black's been through it all. By going into the water, the latter is being reborn or cleansed, while the former is just going to become like the one in black. Kind of shocked they didn't know about the other, but that shot with the both of them on the ladder was well done! Absolutely phenomenal.
I like your interpretation, though I consider that black Aurora and white Aurora are two parts of the same soul that can't become the whole for some reason. due to unrequited love for another person, maybe:"I'm left behind with an empty hole. And everything I am is gone. I try to reach for another soul so I can feel whole". so both Auroras have to "turn around and walk away" till they find someone who loves them back. an almost endless cycle of rebirth of her soul. that's why black Aurora cries and continues her way. just like everyone with broken heart who realizes that the person one has chosen isn't one's destiny and can't make him/her whole.
The two Auroras are the same person only from different times. The black one is the one falling in love with someone who doesn't love her back and the white one is the one after who realises that she has to leave the person. That's why the video shows the one falling in love climbing down, because she's obsessed with someone. But while she's down there, she gets hurt and mad until she notices the ladder and climbs back up. The song's lyrics are all about obsessively craving love from another person while falling to the persons knees and kissing the ground beneath. But in the end of the song it's about how she has to leave and walk away. Then the song ends with her saying how she's left behind with an empty hole after leaving, so she has to look after a new soul (Being a new person)

When I saw this ad/video thumbnail so many times, I honestly thought that it was for a new Sleeping Beauty movie on disney or something since the thumbnail said 'Aurora'.
I see her music blowing up on Instagram and I am so happy for her but I wish it wouldve happened years ago for her. I discovered her music about 6 and a half years ago when I was recovering from a drug addiction, moving on from a toxic 9 year relationship and trying to learn to love myself. I’m unsure of whether artists truly grasp the gravity that their music plays on others lives. But Aurora got me through some of the darkest moments of my life. I always come back to listen to the first few songs I heard. This being just one of them.
The music video is about forgiving ourselves. We are all born pure like water. The ladder represents the trajectory of our goals. Often we climb the ladder of our goals and we forget to be pure. It remains to know when we are going too far.
Well actually, directing to the song, it's about a relationship. White AURORA represents the future, after breaking away from someone who couldn't love her, climbing up the ladder. The black AURORA represents the past, trying to make someone love her, which is why she's climbing down, to the water.
I'll never be able to express how much this song means to me, it's like she reached right in my heart and mind and pulled this out. Growing up with a really narcissistic mom and dad and who was also schizophrenic I never got told anyone was proud of me. My sister went through the same thing too. Both of us were such high achieving kids and everything we did we did without help. Both of us won awards for so many things and were given special opportunities because of how high achieving we were and no one ever told us they were proud or good job or even seemed to notice at all and then that led me into two of the worst experiences of my life. I went into two different abusive relationships one was extremely verbally emotionally physically abusive and the second person was unbeknownst to me a very mentally ill sociopath and I almost died trying to love that person in 2004. I went to the ends of the Earth I know I hit my knees so many times before almost dying just praying and wishing and begging and hoping this person would love me back the way I loved them and I completely lost myself. Every single day I think I asked why wasn't I enough and it's because I was never enough. Never enough to be noticed or loved no matter how much effort I had ever put in and then after a long time of dealing with such abuse I got to a place thank God that I realized it was not me, and there was nothing ever wrong with me. I had been good enough, I did deserve to be loved the way I loved so deeply. This song can just put me right back into the place of being a little girl, right back into place where I never felt enough and then to a place where I know my worth. This song is so happy, so sad it's like every single emotion in one song, my darkest and my peace. Aurora is so special, I hope to hear this live someday, I'll be the one smiling through sobbing so forgive me. Thank you Aurora you are so special to me in ways you couldn't ever understand ♥️

I have been in a really really dark place in my life for a long time. I won’t get into it, but it is as if I was a prisoner with no escape. I used to always imagine it like we are all walking forward, all us people, to a destination.. and somewhere along the way I accidentally stumbled into a giant hole in the ground. I scream for help but no one can hear. But I can sense that everyone is still walking on. Going on without me. I’m trying for years to get out, but, I literally can’t find a way… Recently, I rediscovered Aurora, and quite honestly I’ve been in such a good place ever since. One of her songs cured me of something SUPER DEEP in one listen.. like actually. Pretty sure she is magical lol. And the other day I thought back to this hole I was in for so long, and then my mind’s eye immediately goes to this video with the ladder suddenly appearing in the hole. To me aurora and her music is that ladder.. as corny as that is lol. Who knows how long I would’ve been in there if it wasn’t for her heart

And it will hurt for a long time. But even through the struggling and the pain and the depression that it gave me, it was still worth it. I could not have been me had I stayed with the person who I thought loved me. I could not do the things I wanted out of fear of being shut out. It took my best friend two and a half years to help me realize my own worth and that sometimes the pain of letting go is the lesser pain. Please choose wisely. If that other person is hurting you, and has been hurting you in the past, then the hurt will most likely continue in the future. But if you end it, if you let go and choose for the pain of letting go, it will slowly subside. Or you can replace it, sometimes only temporarily, with things you like. For me it meant making music on weird-ass instruments. Sewing. Dancing. Singing in languages I don't understand but can still mimic.
If I may advice you, choose the pain of letting go, and then try to relieve the pain with things you love and are currently unable to do because of the other person. Relish in the freedom and the love you can create for yourself and the things you do.

I see a ying and yang symbolism here as the theme for the video. The white Aurora represents the future, hope and positiveness as she is claiming upward towards the sky. Whilst the other Aurora in black below represents the past, negativity and pain, as she climbs downwards towards the sea. Both sides need to exist to make something whole. I'm guessing that the concept of the video is like a cycle, with the AURORA in white representing purity while the one in black's been through it all. By going into the water, the latter is being reborn or cleansed, while the former is just going to become like the one in black. Kind of shocked they didn't know about the other, but that shot with the both of them on the ladder was well done!

The two Auroras are the same person only from different times. The black one is the one falling in love with someone who doesn't love her back and the white one is the one after who realises that she has to leave the person. That's why the video shows the one falling in love climbing down, because she's obsessed with someone. But while she's down there, she gets hurt and mad until she notices the ladder and climbs back up.
The song's lyrics are all about obsessively craving love from another person while falling to the persons knees and kissing the ground beneath. But in the end of the song it's about how she has to leave and walk away. Then the song ends with her saying how she's left behind with an empty hole after leaving, so she has to look after a new soul (Being a new person)

I discovered her music about 6 and a half years ago when I was recovering from a drug addiction, moving on from a toxic 9 year relationship and trying to learn to love myself. I’m unsure of whether artists truly grasp the gravity that their music plays on others lives. But Aurora got me through some of the darkest moments of my life. I always come back to listen to the first few songs I heard. This being just one of them.

I'll never be able to express how much this song means to me, it's like she reached right in my heart and mind and pulled this out. Growing up with a really narcissistic mom and dad and who was also schizophrenic I never got told anyone was proud of me. My sister went through the same thing too. Both of us were such high achieving kids and everything we did we did without help. Both of us won awards for so many things and were given special opportunities because of how high achieving we were and no one ever told us they were proud or good job or even seemed to notice at all and then that led me into two of the worst experiences of my life. I went into two different abusive relationships one was extremely verbally emotionally physically abusive and the second person was unbeknownst to me a very mentally ill sociopath and I almost died trying to love that person in 2004. I went to the ends of the Earth I know I hit my knees so many times before almost dying just praying and wishing and begging and hoping this person would love me back the way I loved them and I completely lost myself. Every single day I think I asked why wasn't I enough and it's because I was never enough. Never enough to be noticed or loved no matter how much effort I had ever put in and then after a long time of dealing with such abuse I got to a place thank God that I realized it was not me, and there was nothing ever wrong with me. I had been good enough, I did deserve to be loved the way I loved so deeply. This song can just put me right back into the place of being a little girl, right back into place where I never felt enough and then to a place where I know my worth. This song is so happy, so sad it's like every single emotion in one song, my darkest and my peace. Aurora is so special, I hope to hear this live someday, I'll be the one smiling through sobbing so forgive me. Thank you Aurora you are so special to me in ways you couldn't ever understand ♥️

I feel like aurora is one of those people who aren't going to be HUGE in the star business, but I feel like she has people that absolutely adore her, and I like to imagine her as one of those stars that's kind of quiet but in the inside you know they're weird and quirky

Am I the only one who likes this song? I know, I know it's annoying when RUclips plays the advertisement OVER AND OVER but it doesn't mean the song is terrible. She has a beautiful voice and a good meaning in her songs but the reason people are posting negative comments is because RUclips keeps on advertising it. Don't blame her for it though!

I have been in a really really dark place in my life for a long time. I won’t get into it, but it is as if I was a prisoner with no escape. Recently, I rediscovered Aurora, and quite honestly I’ve been in such a good place ever since. One of her songs cured me of something SUPER DEEP in one listen.. like actually. Pretty sure she is magical lol. And the other day I thought back to this hole I was in for so long, and then my mind’s eye immediately goes to this video with the ladder suddenly appearing in the hole. To me aurora and her music is that ladder.. as corny as that is lol. Who knows how long I would’ve been in there if it wasn’t for her heart
