      @@usagtea8072 💯 I know many of us are afraid it would be like the time they rebranded in the 90’s but nothing actually changed. I’m losing sight of the positive aspects of the sport. Sure it’s cool to see humans do amazing things, but you can see that outside an Olympic contest. None of my friends (and clearly myself) can appreciate our gymnastics past because the abuse covers everything.
      Maybe if we get Aly Raisman in charge? ALL former USAG employees must be barred from this new project.

    Look, Maggie has been coaching top level athletes, she’s supposed to be setting an example for the coaches trying to get to her level. She’s been grooming the athletes and parents that believe in her, to think that she’s doing everything right. As someone who has dealt with coaching abuse recently in another sport, I’m very upset with this.

    • @Constantin9va
      @Constantin9va 3 года назад

      I’m sorry, but I don’t think it’s legit to say that the parents were “groomed” they are full adults. Why does no one on the gymternet seem to give a crap about parental responsibility? It honestly gives credence to Maggie’s scapegoat argument/why she got a reduced suspension. And I’m no Maggie defender, she should be banned for life, tried for child abuse, ect. I just can’t get over how everyone gives ALL of these parents a pass...

      @@Constantin9va I would've agreed with you about that at one point but not so much after listening to what so many parents had to say when the whole Nassar thing was being exposed. I'm not sure if any of them actually used the word 'groomed' but that's certainly what they were describing. Groomed by Nassar, coaches, the Karolyis, USAG and the system itself. So, idk - I remember McKayla Marone's mum saying that (in hindsight) she doesn't understand why she didn't question the compulsory isolation during camps and comps.

      @@belindapaul9828 WOW! It’s really disgusting to imply that a victim being critical of the parents would be “appreciated by Larry” while simultaneously insulting their education.
      Please amend your language. I don’t want other young gymnasts to go what I went through. There is a reason so few of us speak up and it’s because of people like you hurling incredibly hurtful and inane insults at us. I find it ironic that you accuse me of victim blaming while you blame an actual victim of supporting the doctor. That is despicable and I hope it was a momentary lapse in judgment,. Strange how there were never any complaints until after 2016. And she also was awarded Coach of the year and her gymnasts were Gymnast of the year. Weird. Why would she think she’s a bad coach if she’s being awarded.

    • @chelsied.8691
      @chelsied.8691 3 года назад +3

      @Fiedle Dey, Being awarded has zero relation to implications of abuse. Just as not earning awards does not imply abuse. That is a crazy correlation you are making. And why not til 2016? Many reasons... maturity, gained strength, people are actually listening... There are endless reasons why abuse victims sometimes wait to come forward, you should read up on the matter.

    Well; let’s see if she can even resurrect her career. What parent would send their child to her? There should literally be protests if she can coach again.
