We have just added this as an option on shield sales, but wouldn’t be a same day service at this stage. So an option for people who can wait a few days for their order.
Even after fitting one of your shields it will not stop thieves using an angle grinder to break in especially when they see your super secure shield and think there is value gear inside to steal. I suggest that traders have all their gear marked with smart water. This will not stop gear being stolen but if the thieves are caught at a future date with any smart water marked gear will not be able to account how it was obtained.
The FACT that NEW vans are not fit for purpose is quite frankly pathetic. Get a van with windows and don't leave anything in it is the ONLY way to stop the scumbags trying their luck on your van. At least that way they can see it isnt worth trying to get into it.
Some people even leaving their vans unlocked to prevent a thief breaking into them, but also thieves maybe not even checking to see the van is unlocked as they seem so quick to cause damage to vans. With all new vans being such thin metal / light weight, I really don’t know where we are heading.
@@sussexinstallations yep that happened to me, van UNLOCKED and empty still drilled a hole in the back door.. Shows the thinking of the ones that do it... Great set up you have there with the laser and press brake etc..
Just heard of a van had a hole cut in the roof & all the tools of the trade of a mobile lock smith removed . including key recoding lap top . Until Plod & the courts start doing their jobs things will remain grim
Yeah it was left in a big mess. The smaller damage like with your Vivaro is much easier to repair with a regular external repair shield. Our internal latch shields for both the barn door and the side load door for your model Vivaro are a good security improvement, especially per pound spent vs security upgrade (obviously even more so if you fit them yourself as that keeps the cost of buying them down).
Scum would be too nice of a word for them You guys doin a great job in highlighting there methods 👍🏻 what you haven’t mentioned is did they gain entry after all this damage being a owner of a 2018 connect with same locks fitted and also thought the vans were deadlocked when locked from remote 🤦🏼♂️ Awaiting your response in anticipation thanks
Thanks, unfortunately yes they did get in on this occasion. We would recommend you purchase our internal side load door latch shields for your Connect as these shields are as important (or more important) than deadlocks in terms of security, they are usually a better security increase per pound spent IMO. Our office can help with more information during work hours, but you can look on our website here www.sussexinstallations.co.uk/products/door-shielding-internal/sussex-installations-for5-nsl-int-001-ford-transit-custom-2013-2018.html
Cheers buddy Yes I will be upgrading to your plates 👌🏻 For me it’s the distraction and preventing the damage with plates imo there’s to much work involved for em/scum Up north we’re not as bad at the minute 🫣 as I know lads who go south and will not stay in any b&b only air b&b with driveway In my van all gear in vault out of boxes so my worry is before not the break in and cost of damage with your plates and where there fixed you’d be taking some metal out to get to get in they’d be making some noise doin that Keep up the good work and I’ll be in touch 👍🏻
The point of the external shields are to repair the van to make the van useable again and get the tradesman back to work. We fitted our internal shield to give additional protection against the latch being broken into and our internal latch shield is stand alone (it will still give additional security even if they cut around the external shield!). The external shielding will make the van more difficult to break into also, but that is just an added benefit to the repair.
30 odd grand van with a big metal shield, Jesus christ man😂 Why are people still buying these vans without adding this kind of security from day 1. Everyone knows they’re weak in terms of security.
It really is a crazy situation that we are in right now. Vans in London and other areas of the UK are being damaged or broken into so frequently, that it’s no longer a case of if a thief will try and get into your van, but when will they try 😱.
They only way for these manufacturers to learn something is to stop buying their new vehicles. New veichles without spare parts. You can't make this up. Incompetence beyond imagination.
These parts not being available from the start is pretty crazy, imagine being in a rental van for 6 months or simply an unknown amount of time while waiting for parts to become available before your van will be repaired 😭
It is a disappointment that they didn’t try harder than they did to make more of an improvement to the shielding of the side door latch. I do wonder if it was a token effort? Or if the designers just didn’t understand the problem or how important it is to tradesmen in the UK and beyond.
Nice work, the sign of a good engineer is being able to think without a drawing.
Good turn around time.
Or one that can’t read drawings.
Am I the only one who thinks he sound like Jools Holland?? Great video..
They are both good at what they do.
If the plates were colour coded it would make it look alot better aesthetically.

Considering there’s only like 5 colours vans are made in it’s a surprise they weren’t to begin with.
All the tires on all the vans only come in one shade...Black.
@ tyres arent bodywork
Have you got any way on the new van of putting pin switches higher up on the door so the alarm goes off as soon as the top of the door is peeled
Brilliant work from you guys.. ford need to use you guys prior to them selling the vans.

I wouldn't touch a ford with a barge pole.
Did they get into the van?

As long as ford are making vans you’ll be in business.
They proper messed up that door! Had a 17 plate vivaro they just used a hole cutter on the back door 😑 bastards nicked all my makita stuff

Friend of mines best security measure is his vans now plastered In a fake Florist business lol
Won’t they just snip round the plate and latch

I paid 52grand including vat for my transporter
Sounds about right, these Transit Customs are in the £40k+ price including Vat and probably £50k-£60k for top spec?
@@sussexinstallations crazy isn’t it, keep up the good work mate
More like 40 grand

Ford are useless - same problem as the last shape custom, so disappointing how insecure these new overpriced vans are

They’ll say the app will let you know if it’s being broken into 😂
Looks awful but not a lot you can do, they don't seem to have this problem in America?
Now heres why we shouldnt pay 50K + for a tin box 🤔
You can buy a lock pick for theses locks from uk bump keys
Shame they look crap, but more secure than ford make them
My Mercedes Vito van is so much better than the Transit.
