What a pleasure it is to see this little gem brought back to life! I’d bet you could get at least another 50 years of faithful service out of it. Great job!
I have this exact grinder and I guess i know where to send it to make it look brand new!...excellent work and thank you for taking the time out to share your process with all of us .
Wow that blue came out a lot brighter than it looked at first, I'm sure some combo of lighting, glare, whatever. Still a surprise! I gotta say though my favorite parts were the wiring and seeing it run smoothly at the end.
I bought the 1/3HP version of this grinder at the flea market yesterday. Later that evening I was showing my nephew. I told him about the same story as your channel description as a reason why I need three grinders. Lol. 👍 nice
Looks like those old grinders are relatively easy to work on. I'm not familiar with the electrical wiring and such, but doesn't look very complicated. Another great job!
I always love the mess a new buffing wheel makes. Overall, great quality work on the wiring, it's so hard to see people doing a good job in that area on restorations ... I'm subscribing! Cheers!
Excelente restauración 👌🏻, la e disfrutado mucho viéndola, solo a faltado restaurar la placa un poco más al estado original pero a quedado bastante bien, en definitiva toda la restauración en si a estado excelente 👍🏻, enhorabuena 👏
Really enjoyed this video. I'm in the process of restoring a Craftsman bench grinder and this was very helpful. Just curious -- why do you think the motor wasn't working initially? It looks like you just thoroughly cleaned it, and that was all it needed. Did you replace the brushes or anything like that?
Wow! Fantastic restoration on this Grinder. The color fractured blue looks amazing on it. I really enjoyed watching this video and I am going to subscribe so I can see more. Thanks Be safe
As soon as you said, " "Rewired" with lamp cord" I cringed. One does not replace the correct wire with the wrong type of wire. That's a good way for the replacement wire to overheat and cause a fire. Love the miniature of Bob Ross when you went to start painting. I grew up watching him. An of course that last one you put in the oil just had to make a splash, making a bit of a mess. Finished work looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Great work as always. Not a fan of the colors chosen. It isn't a restoration when you change them. It's a customization. I guess for me a classic like that is deserving of its original finish. Most of the brightly colored stuff that I see now tool wise reminds me of the Chinese putting garish colors on stuff to get people's attention and promote sales. The old American tools didn't need that, they sold on quality ( as is shown in the fact that a tool that old with a little TLC can become new again ). This is all my opinion of course, and in disagreement with most that I've read. But as usual, great job in the work you do in bringing a beautiful old tool back to life.
Thanks, I can be seen around the gym every now and then. Restorations just seemed to be something I had a mind for, anybody can do it, just takes the right tools and some trial and error
I'm curious about your wire crimpers. Is that a Kobalt tool or another brand? I kind of like to get me one. It looks a lot better to use than they el cheapo I have.
Such a lovely item 😍
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
top.

Nice job, why didnt you use the old on off plate on thr switch?
Nicely done.
I am a little surprised that a small single phase motor doesn't have a start capacitor.

Those old Craftsman grinders were built like tanks.

Great job buddy, I love the color, man you look as if you work out. How did you develop this skill of repairing thi gs.
Thanks, I can be seen around the gym every now and then. Restorations just seemed to be something I had a mind for, anybody can do it, just takes the right tools and some trial and error
I restored a 1940s Black & Decker bench grinder built like a tank !
Congratulations someone that does not put the old bearings in a plastic bag and pretend they are new and only replaced the essential parts great job.
That blue is gorgeous.
Just curious, what's your tat?
I'm curious about your wire crimpers. Is that a Kobalt tool or another brand? I kind of like to get me one. It looks a lot better to use than they el cheapo I have.

These were not that expensive, but they work great!
Did you change out the start relay to a new one? If so can I get the part number for the new one. I have the same grinder.
No, the relay seemed to be in pretty good shape
Excelente !
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
What steps do you follow to hot blue something. I was thinking about doing it to a could of guns I own but am unsure how to do it?
Very nice. One problem is the fingers of the spring has to contact the bearing outer race. Then the plate, felt seal, and outer retainer.
