What a pleasure it is to see this little gem brought back to life! I’d bet you could get at least another 50 years of faithful service out of it. Great job!
Wow that blue came out a lot brighter than it looked at first, I'm sure some combo of lighting, glare, whatever. Still a surprise! I gotta say though my favorite parts were the wiring and seeing it run smoothly at the end.
I have this exact grinder and I guess i know where to send it to make it look brand new!...excellent work and thank you for taking the time out to share your process with all of us .
Looks like those old grinders are relatively easy to work on. I'm not familiar with the electrical wiring and such, but doesn't look very complicated. Another great job!
I always love the mess a new buffing wheel makes. Overall, great quality work on the wiring, it's so hard to see people doing a good job in that area on restorations ... I'm subscribing! Cheers!
I bought the 1/3HP version of this grinder at the flea market yesterday. Later that evening I was showing my nephew. I told him about the same story as your channel description as a reason why I need three grinders. Lol. 👍 nice
Wow! Fantastic restoration on this Grinder. The color fractured blue looks amazing on it. I really enjoyed watching this video and I am going to subscribe so I can see more. Thanks Be safe
Excelente restauración 👌🏻, la e disfrutado mucho viéndola, solo a faltado restaurar la placa un poco más al estado original pero a quedado bastante bien, en definitiva toda la restauración en si a estado excelente 👍🏻, enhorabuena 👏
What a great restoration my friend!! It's a amazing how you remember where all the pieces goes!! Love that Blue color!! Got 5 stars from me my friend!! 🤗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🤩🎉👍
As soon as you said, " "Rewired" with lamp cord" I cringed. One does not replace the correct wire with the wrong type of wire. That's a good way for the replacement wire to overheat and cause a fire. Love the miniature of Bob Ross when you went to start painting. I grew up watching him. An of course that last one you put in the oil just had to make a splash, making a bit of a mess. Finished work looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Great work as always. Not a fan of the colors chosen. It isn't a restoration when you change them. It's a customization. I guess for me a classic like that is deserving of its original finish. Most of the brightly colored stuff that I see now tool wise reminds me of the Chinese putting garish colors on stuff to get people's attention and promote sales. The old American tools didn't need that, they sold on quality ( as is shown in the fact that a tool that old with a little TLC can become new again ). This is all my opinion of course, and in disagreement with most that I've read. But as usual, great job in the work you do in bringing a beautiful old tool back to life.
I hands down enjoy the videos you find some of the most amazing things to fix up...only my opinion as crazy as it sounds & not trying to be rude but the sandblasting i could do without its long & kinda makes my headache so I typically skip over that part..I mean by now its already a given what it the outcome is going to look like
Nice restore. It would have been greater finding the grinder in the jungle covered in rust, vines and bird poop awaiting your service. Again good restore.
The end results are nearly indistinguishable. I personally prefer hot because it is faster and makes for a better looking film segment, it's main disadvantage is the size limit of the parts you can process. Larger parts that would not fit in a container need to be cold blued.
Thanks, I can be seen around the gym every now and then. Restorations just seemed to be something I had a mind for, anybody can do it, just takes the right tools and some trial and error

@@TRGRESTORATIONS You're very welcome
Nice work
Nice restoration. Like the electrical rework. Any more posts coming from the Foundry?
Hopefully! schedule is pretty tight right now though
Nicely done.
I am a little surprised that a small single phase motor doesn't have a start capacitor.
Sweeeet - nicely balanced, too. ✌🏻🎨☕️
Thank you so much 😀
Very nice work.. 👌 Ready for many more years of service.. Take care my friend...
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Te sacaste un 10 quedó genial Yel color me encanto

You don’t think he can just watch the tear down video to know how it goes back together 😂

Thanks for sharing. Lovely job on the powder coating.
What's the "hot blue" chemical, please?
I hands down enjoy the videos you find some of the most amazing things to fix up...only my opinion as crazy as it sounds & not trying to be rude but the sandblasting i could do without its long & kinda makes my headache so I typically skip over that part..I mean by now its already a given what it the outcome is going to look like
Some folks watch exclusively for the sandblasting, gotta try to give everyone a little piece of what they want I suppose
¡Súper genial...!👍👍👍👍
Nice job.. like the colour. Subbed here!
Thanks for the sub!
Very nice. One problem is the fingers of the spring has to contact the bearing outer race. Then the plate, felt seal, and outer retainer.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Congratulations someone that does not put the old bearings in a plastic bag and pretend they are new and only replaced the essential parts great job.
Good for another 60 years
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
It's about dang time!!
lol you're tellin me! Hopefully get back on schedule now
Great restoration. Where can I purchase the bearings from? Thank you
perfect
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice video and great work,, made me subscribe.
Thanks for the sub!
Well done! You just got a subscriber my friend!
Awesome, thank you!
Nice restore. It would have been greater finding the grinder in the jungle covered in rust, vines and bird poop awaiting your service. Again good restore.
Красиво получилось, супер.👍👍👍👍👍
Good job, but guess I missed the part where he tested the windings. Could have been a waste of time if they had been bad.
Had the same thought
Did you change out the start relay to a new one? If so can I get the part number for the new one. I have the same grinder.
No, the relay seemed to be in pretty good shape
Nice job, why didnt you use the old on off plate on thr switch?
I restored a 1940s Black & Decker bench grinder built like a tank !
What steps do you follow to hot blue something. I was thinking about doing it to a could of guns I own but am unsure how to do it?
Those old Craftsman grinders were built like tanks.
You did just the correct amount.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
What is the difference (end result) between hot and cold bluing?
The end results are nearly indistinguishable. I personally prefer hot because it is faster and makes for a better looking film segment, it's main disadvantage is the size limit of the parts you can process. Larger parts that would not fit in a container need to be cold blued.
love the blue, what company makes it? I usually order from prismatic and havent seen it
It's from Prismatic Powders
Great job buddy, I love the color, man you look as if you work out. How did you develop this skill of repairing thi gs.
Thanks, I can be seen around the gym every now and then. Restorations just seemed to be something I had a mind for, anybody can do it, just takes the right tools and some trial and error
