I absolutely love watching your videos! We were in Wasdale last Tuesday climbing Scafell and my son said “mum! There’s that man you watch on RUclips!”, unfortunately, it wasn’t, another man with a beard haha! Oh and couldn’t stop saying ‘hey herdie’ to every sheep that we saw, much to my so son’s annoyance! Thank you for inspiring us to get out more in nature😊
You give yourself such a hard time. So many of us appreciate you and what you do. We had 5 holidays in the lakes this summer and nearly every route we die from Bowfell and the crinkles via the band to Mosedale horseshoe and Glaramara via the Combe along to Esk Pike was inspired by your videos. You should trust that your fans really appreciate you just the way you are! Thank you for all you do.
Got to admit- upper Eskdale and the craggy plateau overshadowed by the Scafell Range, Eskdale Pike and Bow Fell is the most interesting Lake District landscape of them all.
Mate you could never bore us. I’ve watched your videos off and on for a while now. Another hiking enthusiast here and do mostly solo. Turned 50 last year and found myself doing way more of these kind of trips, possibly trying to get as many in before I’m too old to walk 😂 I’ve loved every video I’ve seen and I love your commentary, you inspire me and I’ve already listed some of your trips to hike myself. I love that some places make you emotional and I absolutely agree, it’s what life is about. I’m the happiest I ever am when I’m out in nature, it’s the best antidepressant out there. 👌 I get like butterflies when I know I’m heading out in the country. Only those that get it understand though. It’s my favourite thing to do and I’m sure some days it’s what keeps me going. Keep doing what you do buddy and never change. Stay safe and keep hiking on my friend. ❤ ( a totally heterosexual heart from one dude to another 😂)
You obviously know the Lake District like the back of your hand and you have taken us to so many wonderful places. If you could put together a collection of your routes and get it published with accompanying comments, photos and illustrations in one or more volumes I am sure that some of us would show our appreciation by purchasing a copy. I don't think I could visit them all but this video shows one of the places which would be very special to visit if a bit challenging to access. Please keep this great content flowing. Thankyou.
We have done the first part of this walk several times and always enjoy it. Muncaster fell is much under rated. Lots of short and beautiful walks in the area.
Thank you for your beautiful uplifting videos. A treat that kept me sane during the 8+ months it took Dementia to take my husband's life. I love waterfalls and this wonderful video of yours is packed with glorious waterfalls and other water features. SO, looking forward to your next video. I believe you said the hike might be grueling. Blessings to you from the Texas Hill Country town of Boerne.
Thankyou for taking me virtually on your amazing walk. When younger that’s the kind of walk I would have done, camped and enjoyed all the weather changes and the glutinous mud! Im now 70 and cannot walk far at all so its such a pleasure to take this particular walk with you. Love your exchange to camera. Your refreshingly real and would be a great walking companion, or to lead groups. Keep doing what you are doing for your health and well being. You do make a great difference to lives like mine.
We really enjoy your walks, so much so we had a few days in Keswick and went on some great walks whilst we were, if possible any chance of doing a video about essential kit and the correct way to go to the toilet outdoors, thanks
A superb Vlog, from the Belted Galloways (giant humbugs) to the chicken, herdies and birdies. 😂 The staggeringly beautiful mountains and your chilly that looks so good, always better eaten a day later. Thank you Glenn, the best yet. so enjoyed your expedition. 😁👌
I lived in Eskdale Green during my childhood and it's a very magical place. My favourite part is exploring Giggle Alley and the Japanese Garden. Also the walk up to Lingcove bridge is a personal favourite having spent many years swimming up there. Great video thank you
Muncaster Fell - went that part of your route earlier this year. The bluebells were out @ there were no cows! It was the one where I decided no matter how much he wants to tag along, this is the dog’s last fell, so it will always be a special one. Flat wanders only for him now ❤
Great video highlighting a brilliant part of the world. We live down the coast in Whitehaven and visit the Ravenglass and Muncaster area regularly. This is a fantastic playground for hikers. Keep on walking.!!
Such a sound guy, with amazing video... I live in Ambleside... you have inspired me to go either.d camp and find these incredible places so close to me!
An absolutely fantastic video! When you set up camp, my wife and I found ourselves saying "oh my god" over and over-the views were breathtaking. You've definitely given us something to think about. You may not realize just how inspiring your videos are. We hope you had a restful night and can't wait to see day 2!
Very relaxing videos, in an otherwise stressful world, I’m envious ! I am fortunate enough to live a short drive from where you camped, absolutely stunning, some of the most beautiful scenery not only in the UK but the whole world. 🌎
Your sense of humor, (harry Axx Roman's - lol) along with your other comments, your video's, etc. are so enjoyable. Look forward to your video's every week. Travel safe out there. From OH, USA.
Cracking expedition this, the route has been noted! Not a bad camping spot either!! .....you'll be in the bad books with The Finnmeister when she finds out about this adventure.
So was in that area at the start of this week. Camped near the fell. Then hiked along Eskdale and up to Hardknott Fort. Had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful place. Keep posting your fantastic videos. They are an inspiration for future hikes. And yes - Fin is the star 🤣
Thank you so much! What a lovely video, and the chili looked amazing! So looking forward to part two. BTW! We love these multi part adventures. The scenery changes, and is so very beautiful. Thank you for not filming the tent set up. We know you need to do it, but the waffling as you make your “supper” as we call it in the states, is always a hoot. See you next time Glenn….
The sounds in the little villages and the sounds around the farms are beautiful ... part of the daily life and environment. You are so blessed with all the historical villages, stunning nature, plenty of water and rivers, ancient history, so many many hiking trails, through farms with access gates .... and you are safe ! So many blessings to enjoy 😊
That is a stunning spot for a camp, I've stopped there a few times but over the other side where the beach goes out into the river. Your videos keep me mesmerised, well done.
That valley and campsite area is nothing short of stunning. I once camped in an area of Sweden in Abisko national park, that looked almost exactly like that camp spot right by a river just like you were, with the mountains as a backdrop. About as good as it gets. Not walked that part of eskdale before but will have to explore it. Really enjoyable video.
Loved this whole video and I pitched in that very same spot for my birthday camp just gone! As soon as saw that ‘beach’ I knew it was the one for the night too 😍
Great vlog. Love it in Upper Eskdale. Did my first multi-day back in the summer - Hawkshead - Coniston - Dunnerdale and ending in Boot. Plan something more testing next year. Muncaster Fell paths looked a bit of a mess. It was idyllic when I was up there a few years ago.
A few months ago I was hiking Tilberthwaite and a very enthusiastic man walked past me saying that he'd driven miles to hike it because he saw a RUclipsr called Black Crag and I should check him out because he's brilliant. I completely forgot until one of your videos came up on my home page a few weeks ago. I'll support you on Patreon soon as I absolutely love the videos especially lake district ones ❤❤
Thanks for taking us with you because there is no way I'd be able to do this now. Age has caught up with me after my younger self used to walk long-distance paths and what would now be called wild camping with terrible gear compared to today. Keep taking us with you as it is a lot easier with a beer in hand and a comfy armchair 😂
Stunning channel you have, great laid back but professional feel, All my favourite areas and views, Don't change a thing !! p.s. are you going to start selling freeze dried chilli ??.... i'd buy it!! 👍👍
Respect to you mate! Epic trip! The best yet, what a fantastic route.. In total awe of the bravery, I would have been sh**ting meself in that camp spot even if it is one of the best places in the world! 😂 Great food skills too! Welcome to the bed early club 😂🛏️💤
Regarding the lens choice, I would have complemented the 70-200 with a small 24 or 35 mm fixed lens for wide angel shots. If it is small enough both should fit in the camera bag.
Just started this one...staying away from civilization (that means no pubs 😱🙈)..... let's see how this goes ....😊 Ravenglass area is well worth exploring.
Sunday evening wouldn't be complete without settling into bed with my cats, a hot chocolate & your latest video. I must tell you though, this last few weeks brought news of a woman being killed by cows in the New Forest & another man surviving a separate attack from them. Seems daft writing that about a seemingly calm creature but there it is😔. That camping stop was simply epic! I imagine you couldn't choose where to linger your gaze.
Great video buddy thanks for sharing can i ask im would like to do a hike in the snow in the lake district can you recommend a good place to get amazing views of snowy mountains 🏔 any info much appreciated 😀👍
Hi Glenn, sorry but i have to stop watching you. everytime you post a different video it looks even more spectacular than the last one. I say to my self "oh im gonna do that". But then you post another one which is amazing. Oh My.......This looks amazing and what a route. Does the route have a name or is it just something that you have put together? Im watching you from my laptop today for the first time and looks so much better. Defo looking forward to the next one.
Absolutely love watching your videos best on RUclips in my opinion what I would love to know as a RUclips creator myself small channel still learning what are your settings on gopro all your videos look crisp as fuck mate can never get settings right obviously all depends on the day and light but what are your go to ones thanks in advance 👍

Who needs to go abroad when we have such fabulous walks and places to visit in the United Kingdom?
Shhh, we need to keep it quiet, let them keep going to Spain so we can enjoy it here ❤
And sing the song of the herdy, called ‘hey herdy’ while dramatically opening and closing the gate, with a nice big clang.
We have done the first part of this walk several times and always enjoy it. Muncaster fell is much under rated. Lots of short and beautiful walks in the area.

Glenn, your enthusiasm is infectious, love it. Roll on Part 2.
We really enjoy your walks, so much so we had a few days in Keswick and went on some great walks whilst we were, if possible any chance of doing a video about essential kit and the correct way to go to the toilet outdoors, thanks
Many fond memories of the Woolpack, hot roast potatoes on the bar, fire roaring. Love the vids Crag :)
I love Eskdale with my whole heart, stayed at Birdhow many times, will probably never go back . Thank you so much. A x
That private beach where you put camp up ... wow .... the river, the mountains .... spectacular !!! I am sold !!
I lived in Eskdale Green during my childhood and it's a very magical place. My favourite part is exploring Giggle Alley and the Japanese Garden. Also the walk up to Lingcove bridge is a personal favourite having spent many years swimming up there. Great video thank you
The Great Moss is such a great wild-camping place. Can't wait for more of this epic trip
Great video. Who do we love more? Finn or the Lake district, both in equal measure, I would say...❤
Muncaster Fell - went that part of your route earlier this year. The bluebells were out @ there were no cows! It was the one where I decided no matter how much he wants to tag along, this is the dog’s last fell, so it will always be a special one. Flat wanders only for him now ❤
Well you walked across the Lake District north to south, so why not do it west to east? Love it. Looking forward to the the rest of the series.
A truly amazing campsite. I love the videos, it’s why they made Sunday nights😂.
Outstanding stills photographs. Real skill in using the available lighting. kudos.
Back to what you do best ... really enjoyed this episode, and where you pitched your tent for the night was just perfect 👌
Great video highlighting a brilliant part of the world. We live down the coast in Whitehaven and visit the Ravenglass and Muncaster area regularly. This is a fantastic playground for hikers. Keep on walking.!!

Excellent first stage to the blackcrag way, one the best episode so far
Your sense of humor, (harry Axx Roman's - lol) along with your other comments, your video's, etc. are so enjoyable. Look forward to your video's every week. Travel safe out there. From OH, USA.
I think that is my favourite place that you have pitched 360 degrees of awesomeness
46:26 Looks lovely, half expecting you'd bump into the tin man the lion and scarecrow on route, haha.
I did an outward bound course in 76, loved Eskdale ever since👍 great video!
Finnie ... we miss you ! ❤❤ what a stunning hike .... simply love the nature... sounds of the river, the birds, the mist ... love all of it !
Absolutely stunning scenery ❤ great place for a camp out 🙌🙌 looking forward to the next one already ❤

BTW I am a Black Clan member.
And I was in the George and it was great. Me and my wee fluffy faced pal had a nice break in there.
Thank you for taking us on your journey Glen, arguably one of the best narrators of their own videos. Fantastic stuff pal 👏😎Marc

Beautiful unspoilt scenery, the area never fails to impress
This looks like a epic stomp over some of the best terrain the lakes has to offer, looking forward to the next part 👍🏻

Hello….. your walks and commentary are amazing.. you should write a book like Wainwright xx

Great video. Love the idea of sea level to highest point. Hope the rest of the journey went well 😊
I've been looking forward to this. Thank you 👍
What a lovely walk and a fantastic campsite
Strange seeing that barn area at Muncaster looking so deserted, used to it being the scene of the wonderful Krankenhaus festival, hence the bar.
I soo like your videos keep them coming .. from down under in NZ
Brilliant video, can’t wait for day 2 👍
Muncaster Fell walking from Ravenglass to Eskdale & return on 'ol ratty' 🚂🚃❤simply devine ❤😊🎉

Looks like the perfect spot to try out my Big Agnes tent, check out the Helinox chair zero (500g) great for a camp like that.
Respect to you mate! Epic trip! The best yet, what a fantastic route.. In total awe of the bravery, I would have been sh**ting meself in that camp spot even if it is one of the best places in the world! 😂 Great food skills too! Welcome to the bed early club 😂🛏️💤
Love the walk as always. Beautiful area to camp by the stream and fells. Where is the into music, life Traveller?. Must have for your vlog.
Regarding the lens choice, I would have complemented the 70-200 with a small 24 or 35 mm fixed lens for wide angel shots. If it is small enough both should fit in the camera bag.
I love your walks
Very very nice! Thanks so much.
Another great video xxxx
Thanks again

Love your stuff Glenn, thank you. Only better with Finn 😂
The paths in England are less rocky compared to the White and Green mountains of New England.🇬🇧🇺🇲🍻
Another great video…keep up the good work

Trying to picture where you started from the street with the shops and the tunnel. I know I’ve been there ?
Great video! That front chest pack looks class? What brand is it? Been looking for one for ages
Great video, whats the place called at 40 minutes with the bridge in the woodland?

Great video buddy thanks for sharing can i ask im would like to do a hike in the snow in the lake district can you recommend a good place to get amazing views of snowy mountains 🏔 any info much appreciated 😀👍

Hey Glen why didn't you fill your water at the farms ? play it safe
Please, anyone tell me where I can find days 2 3 and 4 of this expedition?
Hi Glenn, sorry but i have to stop watching you. everytime you post a different video it looks even more spectacular than the last one. I say to my self "oh im gonna do that". But then you post another one which is amazing.
