Saving up for a 2010 Nissan Xterra. I absolutely love this style! If I could afford it, I would definitely make the 2015 my goal! I hate the curviness/ smoothness of newer SUVs/ crossovers, and I love, love, love the squarer frames of the older (specifically the Xterra). What Nissan did to the new Armadas and Pathfinders should be labeled as a sin!
Glad Nissan kept at least one of their offroad vehicles pure....what they did to the once great Pathfinder is maximum garbage....took away its manliness.
As for the "cheap" interior, let me say, bought a new one when they changed the design in 2005, the interior was designed to be able to literally hose out - all seats, including the front, folded completely flat and you could take your garden hose to it and wash the mud, snow and grime out without doing any damage - one of the features that truly came in handy. Also, 6' 4" hubby shattered his ankle and was able to sit in the back seat with the front passenger seat completely folded forward in half to elevate his casted leg in comfort. Has tons of "giddy up". One of my favorite vehicles I've owned. I am sad to hear they will no longer manufacture after 2015.
I bought my 2008 X in 2009. It had been a rental and had 28k miles on it. I payed 16k for it. It's been payed off for years, still runs likes like new. 175k miles and no issues. Plan is to pass it down to my currently 14yo girl when she gets a drivers licenese. It's pretty much bullet proof.
I have this exact car, same color, transmission, and interior. I've put roughly 4,000 miles on it and I really enjoy it. This SUV gets a lot of grief in reviews I've read for ride quality, interior refinement, and fuel economy. I can honestly say that fuel economy is the only gripe that's justified. I was extremely impressed that low 30's got me a body on frame SUV with Navigation, Backup camera, heated seats, Bluetooth, and arguably the best sound system I've ever heard in an automobile in this price range. The interior has hard plastics but they're put together really well with no rattling or coming loose. I love the fact that I got cloth seats that are heated, that's a hard combination to find. And the cloth doesn't get too hot in the desert summers in New Mexico and the heated seats are perfect when it has gotten cold out. The ride quality is actually really good for an off-road inclined SUV. I drive mine around town and it has never gotten too harsh, bumpy, or loud for me. The engine is very peppy and quick, I do wish Nissan would've at least put in a 6-speed automatic as the 5-speed occasionally struggles to find the right gear. I personally didn't get the wrangler because of the higher price and I did not want the removable roof. If you're in the market for an SUV in the low 30's and you want something a little more manly this really is a good value.
I have a 2005 Xterrs with 137,000 miles on it. I love it! Who cares of it's "dated" or "cheap plastic" Mine is 11 years old and it still feels new! It sure beats any of the soccer mom SUV's out there! I am lookig at a PRO 4X tomorrow in fact!
I bought a 2002 in 2004 that had 32,000 miles on it. Practically new, and only paid $17,000 for it. It was the manual v6. I drove it to 225,000 miles, and finally traded it in this year, 2023, and bought a new Chevy Blazer RS. I definitely got my money's worth out of it. I really liked the rugged look. I can't believe they're actually putting 4cyl engines in the mid-size suvs and trucks.
Just found one a few days ago and bought a pro4x today. Best version fully loaded and last model year. This shall last me a good 10 years and 100k miles. It has about 60k right now
I love my 2014 Pro-4X. I take it off road all the time. Have added steel skids from shrockworks, steel rock sliders, off road bumpers from shrockworks and a nice usable roof rack. I've taken my X to places where jeeps hesitate to go unless they have the lift and larger tires.
I have the 2012 P4X. I am upgrading my skids to Shrockworks and already have the engine skid from them. Sliders and radiator skis are on order. Great vehicle!
This guy is not qualified to review this four wheel drive. He is comparing it to a Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Nissan Rogue. Not even close. This is a true body on frame SUV with a fully locking rear differential 4-Wheel drive. It should be compared to Toyota FJ Cruiser, Jeep Wrangler, or Toyota 4-Runner.
You are right. Only very small few have fully locked front/rear differentials (ex Jeep Rubicon). Nowadays many say they are locking but indeed are limited slip differentials and more like AWD but only a few like PRO-4X have a locking rear differential. I have been living in the dark ages. I have had Toyota Landcruiser, Toyota 4X4 truck and both had manual locking front hubs.
I think he was merely referring to the size class. The XTerra was considered a compact SUV from 2000-2004, in the same class as the CR-V/Rav4/TJ. 2005-2015 it's considered a midsize in the same class as the 4Runner and Grand Cherokee, although it's still smaller than either. So he's not completely wrong. The reason they killed the Xterra is because it occupies the same size slot as the Murano, but the Murano costs less to manufacture, sells for more, and gets better mileage.
They discontinued the Xterra because nobody wants real 4WD type trucks with body on frame anymore. Everyone wants crossovers because the ride is smoother and very few people go offroad. I have had nothing but trucks and suvs so I still like the body on frame 4WD suvs even though the ride is not like a refined car.
The Xterra is still being marketed , albeit overseas. In my opinion it looks awful (the new design); and I'm upset with Nissan for discontinuing the older boxy style. Back in 2016, i bought a 2013 Nissan Xterra 4x4 from CarMax. First car i ever bought there. Can't remember the trim, but it may have been an S. Let me just say , THAT was the best vehicle i ever owned. This thing was a tank. So friggin solid. No creaking or weird noises. And this one only had 30k miles on it when i got it. It was well taken care of. As a birthay gift my wife got me an aftermarket center console screen, with BT, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and Nav. I bought guards for the front and back lights, aftermarket headlights. It had running boards and rain guard/ deflectors on the windows. Mine was gray with aftermarket black wheels and B/F Goodrich AT tires. They actually came with it when i bought it. My apologies for how stupid this sounds, but this truck was so fuckin' bad ass. Yeah the mpg sucked. I got 20 mpg on a good day. But holy shit, was it fun to drive. Other than the fuel economy, the only other thing I wasn't a fan of was the seats. Not that they were uncomfortable, because they weren't but after a while, they did begin to smell bad from excessive driving. I had to eventually buy seat covers and that pretty much, solved the issue. After almost 7 yrs of loyal service and it only had 81,000 miles, on November 5th of 2022, my car was parked outside a Target in the Bay Area, and apparently some pos was trying to show off his driving "skills" to his buds in his stupid ass truck and loss control and totaled my car and part of someone else's car. He hit it from the driver side front. I was alerted by a voice over the PA system, telling me my license plate number was in an accident. I was overcome with so much anger , an anger i didn't even know one could feel. That was 7 months ago and I still really miss it. We've since bought a new car, a 2023 Kia Sorento hybrid. It's a great car, with a lot of tech, and is pretty damn luxurious, for a midsized suv. The fuel economy is strong to ( 39 mpg hwy) ... but deep down i still really miss my old truck. Yeah these newer SUVs have way more creature comforts, and tech, but it's just not the same. That feeling you get when you take it camping or light off-roading , or driving it down trails, can't be beat. My wife and I drove it to Colorado, and Louisiana from where we live in Northern California. One day I am going to get another one.
I am, but I prefer the '01-'04 in black, white, or maroon with a black leather interior. It's so simple, yet so clean. To each is their own. I still think the 3rd generation looks great, but I honestly think the second generation is my dream first car...
Old and new = Gold Had My 2015 Xterra pro-4x w/ 105k kms last sunday, Flew from Manitoba to Alberta to get the car and drove back. It was a great driving experience. I like the feel stiffness combined with soft bounce when over the bumps, the Bilstein shocks was so good. Fell in love on the seat height and road vision, Gas was not bad for me. The other thing that I like about this car is that it is tall and short.
Actually, it still looks pretty good. Considering just how HIDEOUS most current Nissans look, I don't know if re-designing it is necessarily a good thing.
@@barlux88 I’d say there’s waaaaaaaaaaaay worse “corporate styling” out there today. I quite like the new Nissans. Aggressive, but not overly stupid like *ahem* Toyota Lexus imo
Honestly, I would love statistics on whether more of these sold to guys or gals. In my small experience of friends who own(ed) one, I'm thinking it's 3 gals to every guy who bought one.
Dated, old, cheap plastic? lol. I had a 2005 Xterra - kept it for 12 years, no problems at all. I got the 2012 PRO 4X two months ago. Love it! Even though Nissan stopped making them in 2015, I wouldn't have it any other way! King of the road!
Xtetra's rock!! Can't please everybody.. lot of dorks in the world. Mine is an 05 and I've sold many 50-70k vehicles and I always am happy to get back in my Xterra!
I have a 2003 first generation Xterra with 270,000 km on it. I live in Western Quebec / Eastern Ontario where it will get down to minus 30 in February and the snow can really pile up. I live in a semi-rural area with back-roads and hills. Put snow tires on my vehicle and put it into 4WD and it just eats snow. I've also had it driving hard down logging roads. Fabulous vehicle.
My grandmother has this car and they previously had 4Runner and my mum has a 4Runner, I grew up with this kind of car and love it. I grew up all around the 4Runner and FJ cruiser, the Xterra was the only car that wasn’t Toyota for us. I miss this car and the FJ cruiser.
shellzcheez I have a '15 Pro-4X, and what you're describing is very, very unusual. Sure, the Xterra has been basically unchanged for a decade, so it's not pretty, but what that also means is that it's essentially about as reliable as a car can get and the engine is damed near bulletproof...just very thirsty, unfortunately. Strong and smooth as hell though. The Xterra is one of the only remaining (for now) SUVs that actually delivery the "utility" part; that comes at the cost of being luxurious, but if you have big dogs like I do, dogs that sometimes vomit inside the car, this thing is great.
LastHumansGarage Such a shame.. I love Nissan Xterras and Toyota 4Runners. Seems all the manufacturers are discontinuing their more offroad worthy SUV's and only making city trucks. Seems SUV's that are at least somewhat off road capable are a dying breed. more and more "SUV's" nowadays are nothing more than big cars or small minivans and never meant to even drive on a dirt road let alone mud or anything. I love these older designed vehicles that are more masculine and offroad capable like the xterra and 4runner etc.. Hell even jeep are starting to make less and less true 4x4 SUV's.
Gamingoodz I agree, however cars like the Xterra and Wrangler are niche vehicles that only appeal to a small segment of the population. Manufacturers are obviously going to build what sells, and that unfortunately means watered down grocery getters/people haulers.
I wish they kept making these. After all the old frontier is still around. Toyota has kept the same style of the 4 runner around for about 10 years and it’s still selling well!
He's a auto reviewer. He isn't lying about the plastics and what not looking cheap. I know it's part of the image of the Xterra, but Nissan does need to refresh a little more to keep the car liked by the press.
I want function, I want usability, I want reliability, I want lockers, I want durability, I want skids, I want easy to clean. I could not give a single fuck about soft, nice feeling materials, or techy-techy gimmicks or push button start (fuck off! how hard is it to turn a key). I just want shit to work. And this truck delivers in spades. It's why I bought one.
Currently renting one of these for a few days of highway tripping in Northern Ontario Canada driving highway primarily. (Typing this in the middle of my trip.) I tried to get the pathfinder but it wasnt available. I currently own a 2009 ford escape 2Wd V-6. This review was spot on. Its a rugged vehicle, the suspension travel and feel is much like a jeep wrangler. There is alot of nervous wiggling on pavement. However, I was just out at my camp a few days prior ,using a side by side polaris razor on a pipeline road, and this vehicle could handle that rough trail/ road easily. On the highway for passing, it blew by transports easily giving me a good safety margin on our two lane highways here in with few passing lanes. In comparison to my escape v-6 it feels rugged solid and heavy. The escape feels light and nimble in comparison although even without the AWD drivetrain and resultant weight the escapes motor seems like a sewing machine . I roof rack alot of gear on my escape, like standup paddleboards and wet gear, and the roof rack on this seems it could handle alot of heavy gear I have to laugh though as most of these i see are daily drivers, polished and well washed and do not see a foot of dirt road. Much like the Wrangler poser crowd. Good review.
This is my mothers car she bought in 2004 as a 04 model, it's true not much has changed, it's still a gas guzzler but it's looks still pleases me. It's an old car that my mom has had till this day and she's looking to get a new one next year. I'm looking forward to it's redesign in the future. Even though I was just 4 years of age when she bought it, I still find it my childhood car.
The fact that no other manufacturers make these type of vehicles is why the 2019 Jeep Wrangler can cost as much as 60k. No competition = monopoly pricing.
Used to have a 2006. One of the best vehicles I ever owned. The 6 speed manual transmission was very reliable. The truck over all was nice and simple. Just gets the job done. The cheap plastic interior was very durable. Definitely a perfect "rugged truck".
I have been driving for 4 years, almost 5. In 2006 my parents bought one of these brand new in the sand colour and we had it when I was 14/15 and learning to drive. It was a great vehicle to learn in, great power, can go anywhere, comfortable, lots of space. This is one of the only original great SUV's. We went off-roading with our friends who had pickup trucks. They got stuck, we were pulling them out haha. Its a really great vehicle!
WOW, this review was TERRIBLE!!!! Did he seriously just call this a "compact" SUV??? OMG. It's a MIDSIZE SUV!!!!! I've had my 2015 Pro-4X for just over 3 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. It has been super reliable and very low maintenance. I love that it's a rugged off-road SUV, but it also has many luxury features and is very comfortable, even on the highway. Mine has the heated leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth, Sirius/XM radio, premium sound system, etc. This is, hands down, the best SUV I have ever owned and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. The reason why people love this vehicle's "old" design so much is because it's one of the last (if not THE last) SUVs that you can still buy that has the true body on frame design. It's not one of those ugly, useless, curvy crossovers that would get stuck in 5 inches of mud. This is a REAL sport utility vehicle. Why do you keep calling it a car??? The Nissan Sentra and Nissan Altima are cars. This is an Xterra, which is FAR from a car. This is an SUV!!!!! If you're doing to review vehicles, at least get your information straight.
Thanks for this nice review. I own 2014 automatic leather pro 4 X and really appreciate this SUV here in Canada. Skiing winter time camping and towing trailer in summer. Fuel economy is not the best and interior sucks. But the way you feel when you hit the road, view from driver's seat, this feeling of being behind the beast just shadows all other cons. I do also have custom 17" rims with wider winter tires on it which makes it perfect vehicle for winter. I'll probably get one used compact sized sedan for daily driving/fuel economy like BMW 3 series or Honda civic but definitely keeping this guy in my garage for years coming to have reliable/tough machine.
When it comes to reviews I really appreciate attention to detail like this. Noting the key things like Driver window auto down not up, and the key point highlighting the touch interface or missing trajectory lines for back up* Really like that👍 Great Review!!!
What drew me to the Xterra over the Wrangler was that it's essentially a short box Frontier, so you actually get some real payload and towing capacity. Also price. The X is a steal compared to the Wrangler. My Xterra has leather, a Rockford/Fosgate sound system that kicks, Nav, off road lights, locking rear axle straight out of the old Titan, Bilstein suspension, underbody protection (could be thicker gauge, but nonetheless, it's there and it works), and good AT tires, and not to forget that silky sweet VQ40 motor, and I got it roughly for the price of a basic Wrangler Sahara.
Bought the 2015 XTerra Pro 4-X last year and LOVE it. Test drove the Jeep Rubicon and Suburu Forester Touring in addition. I wanted an SUV that felt like and SUV and not a vehicle I'd be afraid to get dirty, but still be stylish. I still have my sedan, but when we take the Prox 4-X out out to the country, it doesn't disappoint. The turn radius is tight. This model was hard to get in my area. When we ordered it to our specs, local dealer had to get it from Oklahoma. There are lots of XTerra's in town, but only 1 Pro-4X model. :)
I love that they still make this. Rugged, capable and simple. As for people complaining about it not having sophisticated styling this vehicle isn't meant for showing off, something people think cars are for, it's meant for it's capability and go anywhere character. I know I'd rather have this than some flashy SUV with too much gadgets because when those gadgets fail which they will this old beast will still carry on.
I bought a 2014 Pro4X with a manual transmission in Aug with 600 miles on it for 25k. I love this truck and it's beefiness. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the confusion with putting it in reverse!! It's so simple once I was actually told how. Oh and how you have to be in reverse to view camera view.. Other than that.. A+
Great review...I have the Pro4x 2014 leather...I have had 5 Mercedes Benz sedans and I like my Pro 4x so much better...gets through major snow storms....actually fun to drive in deep snow and guarantees I will make it to work in any East coast weather.....
We have owned our Xterra Off Road Edition ( 6 speed manual) since 2005 and it's a beast. We have not put much into it as far as expenses. Tires, breaks, and a battery. We are looking to replace out Xterra sometime soon, and may wait till the next generation of Xterra's. Hope Nissan keeps the same rugged truck platform. Drove ours through 10 New England winters and have commuted to work through countless snow storms. It kind a is what it is. It's a solid real 4WD, with out much fancy stuff to go wrong.
I bought a 2002 Xterra XE brand new. It now has 233,000+ miles and still runs great. Going to buy a 2014 Pro-4x this week with 57,000 miles and it's the same color as this, but mine has the leather & towing packages. They're nice vehicles, why else would I own (2) of them? I don't drive very much, so the lousy fuel mileage is not an issue. Such a shame Nissan discontinued making the Xterra. I would've bought a brand new one...
The biggest mistake, Nissan made was discontinuing the xterra. This was could have been Nissan's 4Runner since they turned the Pathfinder is a soccer mom car.
I dont know why people call this a compact SUV. This vehicle is by no means compact. This is a midsized SUV. I know that because it's pretty obvious if you see it in person. But with that out of the way, this is a great SUV. It also handles GREAT for a midsize truck based SUV. It even out handles my mom's 2003 Honda Element which is smaller(thus being a compact SUV(crossover actually)) and even has a slightly firmer ride than the Xterra. I know that because I driven both vehicles.
When out car shopping, I bought this over a Jeep, I've owned Jeeps before and although fun I wanted something fun to drive, that drove decent and still handle the dirt, could tow more than 3500lbs. Over all I think I made the right choice. Not as many mods as Jeep, but easily as capable.
I just found out from a fellow RUclipsr that Nissan may bringing back the X-Terra. Yea!!! I love it, it's a real work horse. I prefer a masculine looking suv vs. a fancy one.
The Xterra is one of the only SUV's that's maintained its boxy design over the years, it and the Jeep Wrangler/Unlimited. At 10, there's no reason to redesign it, just like the Wrangler/Unlimited... it looks awesome the way it is.. plus this design allows for "real" 4WD... I drive a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 and I don't need the latest features like push-button start or keyless access. (: I do find it odd that this thing has sixteen-inch rims on the top-of-the-line model in 2015.
+Savage Life which year is a bitch version. Because I've seen a lot of Pathfinders in NYC and they look like actual SUV trucks and not that unibody feminine bitch status version
rnorred1986 I was wondering why I couldn't create an order for the Xterra on the official website. So you have to only deal with used vehicles or whatever new ones that's sittng on a lot collecting dust? That's like looking for a needle in a hay stack in NY STATE. This sucks because I wanted to go offroad but not in some cliche ass jeep.
I have owned a 2007 base model X, the only option is 4x4 for 5 years. Yes it only gets 18 mpg with 4x4 but its well worth it. If I ever get another vehicle or have to replace the X, I will be buying another. Simply bullet proof.......so far.
Thanks for really going through the entire vehicle. This girl loves the truck based SUV. I can't stand the look of the crossovers. My Range Rover is ready to be sold, it's a beautiful 4x4 to look at but it really doesn't do well off road and the new style is no Buenos. Debating if it really matters to wait for the 2016 or not.
My coworker got the supercharged one and it's at 190k and still goes strong. In between the Frontier King cab and the xterra cause I kinda need the truck bed
He is right about it being a tank and virtually indestructible. Crashed my XTerra on the highway/freeway and she still runs! (I still fixed it though) But I'm going to have to get rid of it because it's too impractical in terms of fuel economy.
I really like these. always thought about buying one but never found one that was in good condition. I ended up with a 21 4Runner. I love it. But these Terra’s are damn good.
Nissan could literally make this exact vehicle in 2020 in this body and interior and I would buy it as soon as it dropped
Same here , I wish they bring it back
same with the Yota FJ Cruiser
Yea, 5)3 is certainly a good suv I love it. Especially a manual transmission and simple interior

This is the vehicle of my dreams
That dream is attainable man for sure!
Keep working and you'll have it in no time :)
Have you gotten one?
I own 2 Xterras. Just bought a 3rd. Please bring back the Xterra!!!
I am a woman and LOVE the Nissan Xterra style language and I plan to take it offroad when I buy one. I'm saving up because it's still like $20k
Say masculine one more time. . .
While wearing a dorky purple tie lol.
Just found one a few days ago and bought a pro4x today. Best version fully loaded and last model year. This shall last me a good 10 years and 100k miles. It has about 60k right now
Updates?
I'm 24 and even I know they need to bring back the traditional SUV look. Body to Frame all day baby.
+Ndasuunye Hey I'm 24 myself!!! I counldn't agree with you more we need more truck based SUV's, I hate crossover's!!! I love my 99' Tahoe!!!
24 yrs old myself brother I'm with you.
God, it's beautiful.
Benjamin Lee locking front diff? I think you mean rear.
Benjamin Lee
It’s emissions. That’s why they stopped.
I'm sad that the new Pathfinders are crossovers. Such a shame. I liked the old school pathfinders and armadas
+Ndasuunye Same here.. would have bought one if they still looked the same
Dalir Khalili we gotta hit up craigslist then my friend. That and used dealerships.
I think the 2001-2004 generation is by far the most attractive and even reliable...
Brian Fortiz your not a fan of the 06-12 model?
I am, but I prefer the '01-'04 in black, white, or maroon with a black leather interior. It's so simple, yet so clean.
To each is their own. I still think the 3rd generation looks great, but I honestly think the second generation is my dream first car...
Wish they’d bring this back !
Best vehicle I have ever owned thus far. Love it. Great off-roader.
Old and new = Gold
Had My 2015 Xterra pro-4x w/ 105k kms last sunday, Flew from Manitoba to Alberta to get the car and drove back.
Agreed- the new Nissan’s look like that kid in the cher movie
@@barlux88 I’d say there’s waaaaaaaaaaaay worse “corporate styling” out there today. I quite like the new Nissans. Aggressive, but not overly stupid like *ahem* Toyota Lexus imo
This truck is so bad ass, you just can't find anything like this anymore. Bring it back.
I just got one a couple months ago with less than 100k miles and I'm freaking loving it.
I have a 2006. Like the video says the design has not changed for 10 years. It's a great off road vehicle.
But is it masculine?
It's caltech frat boy masculine
This guy sounds about as masculine as a newborn kitten.
it's super, thanks for asking.
Honestly, I would love statistics on whether more of these sold to guys or gals. In my small experience of friends who own(ed) one, I'm thinking it's 3 gals to every guy who bought one.
Bro it's a car...
I can't believe this design is almost 10 years old, I remember when they were coming out.
I have a Standard 2006 Nissan X-Terra, my mechanic is telling me it’s time to let mine go, I would love to get an X-Terra like this.
The Xterra is cool, bold, tough, rugged, capable, strong, reliable, and badass! Oh, and masculine!
and nissan announced 2015 is the last year for the Xterra, so get them while you can. if you like em.. i have had 3 myself..
just curios, did you have the pro 4x trim? i test drove a 2015 pro 4x today and it vibrated anytime it was in gear and idled. did you have this issue?
shellzcheez I have a '15 Pro-4X, and what you're describing is very, very unusual.
LastHumansGarage I have a 00 Black, 105000 miles and not burning any oil,,,,now you said that I'm gonna give my baby som TLC
My parents gave me their 2012 pro-4x with leather seats. Been driving it for 2 years and I love it, will keep it and fix it up for as long as i can.
Go look for a Luxury vehicle! I really hate it when he says "CHEAP"!
same, it's not meant to be luxury
He's a auto reviewer. He isn't lying about the plastics and what not looking cheap. I know it's part of the image of the Xterra, but Nissan does need to refresh a little more to keep the car liked by the press.
are you suggesting better looking plastic? and that's it or actual soft touch material.
There is a diffetence between luxury and quality
He's not very "masculine"
I am shopping for a 2015 pro4x manual 6 speed...Nissan needs to bring it back, great vehicle
It's so good to see at least a small amount of SUV's are still available in manual. SAVE THE MANUALS!
Manuals are gone
Traded in my '06 OffRoad for the '15 Pro 4X based on discontinuing production rumours. Might be my last vehicle! Love it
I want function, I want usability, I want reliability, I want lockers, I want durability, I want skids, I want easy to clean. I could not give a single fuck about soft, nice feeling materials, or techy-techy gimmicks or push button start (fuck off! how hard is it to turn a key). I just want shit to work. And this truck delivers in spades. It's why I bought one.
well-said
Currently renting one of these for a few days of highway tripping in Northern Ontario Canada driving highway primarily.
The Older means more *EXPENSIVE* because they were designed and built Better.
This actually would be a pretty good winter beater vehicle
The fact that no other manufacturers make these type of vehicles is why the 2019 Jeep Wrangler can cost as much as 60k. No competition = monopoly pricing.
SMSuperstrat forerunner, defender, gwagon, land cruiser, wrangler, grand cherokee
@@MrAbsentdriver All of those are costly.
Excellent video! Good job. Keep doing these!
a lot of people I find are complaining about lack of tech in this vehicle but I'm glad it doesn't and they focus more on engineering and quality
I still see these roaming Death Valley's most brutal off road areas with ease in their dated form. Would love to own one even 20 years from now.
Just looked into these, 2015 Pro 4X still selling for 33k ...and that's with 62k miles..man how times have changed!
Yup 😢 I hope 🤞🏼 they bring the Xterra Pro 4 X back like ford did with the Bronco Sport ❤😊
When it comes to reviews I really appreciate attention to detail like this. Noting the key things like Driver window auto down not up, and the key point highlighting the touch interface or missing trajectory lines for back up*
Really like that👍 Great Review!!!
great review, the Xterra is one of a kind. And I love mine.
Wish Nissan continued selling this. It would be selling well now
It literally was a cheaper 4 runner but was just as reliable. It was amazing
2:17 that side step is for reaching your roof rack to put something on the top, not getting inside of a car.
Had the Nisaan xterra for 7 years and loved it, just picked up a 2015 Xterra Pro-x and love it too. :)
Perfect review & great Nissan.
Mine is a 6sp and I never feel like it's a "gas guzzler " everybody has to complain about something.
Good review, bro, held up well after 10 YEARS!!
damn you are a content-rich reviewer! keep it up.
Jeeez I had my 350z at the time when this truck came out. That 3 cars I’ve owned since then.
The best Japanese SUV out there, hopefully they won't redesign it into another wussified Pathfinder.
+SKKC1986 yeah the new pathfinder looks like shit ): they had it right the first time.
+Savage Life which year is a bitch version. Because I've seen a lot of Pathfinders in NYC and they look like actual SUV trucks and not that unibody feminine bitch status version
2013 and up
+SKKC1986 It was discontinued for 2016.
rnorred1986 I was wondering why I couldn't create an order for the Xterra on the official website.
Fucking great review, very detailed and accurate. I have a 2011 X and I love it!! Bare bones rugged beast
Very capable vehicle. And I love the look of it.
God if this 'guy' says "masculine' one more time...
My 2011 Pro-4X is 13 years old. The plastics have held up very well.
I know a guy with one of these that has 400k miles. Original drive train
Thanks for really going through the entire vehicle. This girl loves the truck based SUV. I can't stand the look of the crossovers. My Range Rover is ready to be sold, it's a beautiful 4x4 to look at but it really doesn't do well off road and the new style is no Buenos. Debating if it really matters to wait for the 2016 or not.
my dad has a 2001 xterra and god that suv is good we were like almost on empty and we drove the 2 miles.
OMG #5 viewer!! YASSS!! Good videos too Redline, I watch all of them and I love them. Keep up the good work! :)
This is great, got one and it drives aggressively with lot of toque
My coworker got the supercharged one and it's at 190k and still goes strong. In between the Frontier King cab and the xterra cause I kinda need the truck bed
Oh yea. These trucks haul ass
Now, that's what I call an in-depth review. So many of the auto "reviews" on RUclips are nothing more than sales pitches.
Best "true" SUV ever made! Rugged, masculine, reliable.
I think Doug Demuro should do a video on one of these.
He is right about it being a tank and virtually indestructible. Crashed my XTerra on the highway/freeway and she still runs! (I still fixed it though) But I'm going to have to get rid of it because it's too impractical in terms of fuel economy.
The last true SUV ...sad to see it go as well.
Welcome to sissy America. This is a car meant for tough men and women
I really like these. always thought about buying one but never found one that was in good condition.
I ended up with a 21 4Runner. I love it. But these Terra’s are damn good.
