  • In this video I review the 2011 Nissan Xterra Pro 4X. This second generation model of the Xterra was produced from 2005 to 2015 and is no longer in production after Nissan discontinued the model in 2015.

I have the 2012 PRO 4X Xterra with a 6 speed manual. I love it, have gone rock crawling, general off roading and kicks ass. Beats a Jeep anyday!

How's the maintenance been on it?

I have that exact same vehical in the same color. Mine is a 6 speed manual 4X4. I care for it like a child. I will never understand why Nissan stopped making them.

I have a 2000 Xterra SE 2WD 3.3 and I love it, love its design its just different. my truck has some 19yr use issues mainly has to do with the Idle and it shutting of but I still think its a great truck to have.

love the video...ive talked with lots of people and from what i can tell..the fall of the Xterra was the bad gas mileage...if im wrong let me know..i want one so bad..but i travel for a living and gas mileage is a buying point with me

Yes i agree that's the only issue. Hopefully they bring it back someday.

no the mileage had little too do with it. its not that type of vehicle. lack of proper marketing and tweaks were more of an issue.

Definitely not a vehicle to buy for the gas mileage

I have a 2010 Nissan Xterra OFF Road, exact same thing, they just call them PRO 4x now. Same running gear, but you pay way more for the PRO 4X when you go buy second Hand.

Should talk more about reliability and known mechanical issues and way less about esthetics.

Wish you`d have lifted the hood & spare tire lid, but an excellent review none-the-less ! Nissans are fine vehicles `cept for their auto transmissions---according to Scotty Kilmer....

that transmission issue is an easy fix if its done before it fails which is good to know. either replace the radiator with an after market one or by pass the radiator to a separate transmission cooler

Hi bro - really like this car. Great video! What do you think is a good smooth riding on the road mid size SUV? Going to test drive an Xterra and see if it handles well on road if not perhaps Jeep Liberty? On road is 90% of my driving with 10% off road. Thanks!

I would highly recommend the Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee if you're looking for a smooth ride that's still pretty solid off-road.

The Cherokee Trailhawk specifically is one of my recent favorites to drive

I had a 2000 Xterra and traded it for 2005 Xterra I had it for 10 years and I traded for a 2015 Pathfinder. Now I have a 2017 Rogue midnight edition and now I have my eye on a 2011 Xterra Pro 4X with manual transmission and 18K miles. What do you think should go for it selling for $18K

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  4 года назад +3

Wow, 18K miles? That's crazy low. Hard to say on price without seeing it but it sounds like a good price. You can't buy Xterra's any more so getting one with such low mileage is pretty cool.

In general Nissan has a pretty good reputation for durability but that always depends on how well a vehicle has been cared for, maintained and a little luck.

I have an 05 SE 4WD. 385,xxx miles. Auto. Fixed the SMOD and guides. Have another 05 OR 6 Speed. Has 210,xxx miles. Neither burn or drip any oil. Super strong VQ4.0 V6.

What’s truly hysterical is the lack of grab handles for the rear passengers. Ever try to get into those tiny little rear doors? Where are the grab handles??? I mean seriously, how do you overlook such a simple detail?
