The paid consultations and assisted recovery all just use BTCRecover, so if you can get the tool working properly, just don't have any clue about your password, there isn't a lot more to be done

You will need to create your own tokenlist file. Docco for that is here btcrecover.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tokenlist_file/ The 4 threads vs 12 is simply due to the number of cpu cores your system has.

Hi - I'm try to access my Blockchain from 2015 and have a decent idea of the password as I use 'LEET' type passwords and remember the core part but each possibility has 10's if not 100's of millions of possibilities using the typos map approach. I've tried what I think are the most likely but have only come up with password list exhausted. To check that I've set things us correctly I've created a new Blockchain wallet and can crack that using the same approach. I'm working through all possibilities that I can think of (think I need to buy a GPU!) but just wanted to ask if you know of any logical reason of why it may not work for an old wallet if it does for the new? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!
You can also securely do blockchain.com wallets in vast.ai with a wallet extract if you don't want to pay for a GPU. Either way, there is no reason why it won't work for older wallets. Just keep an eye on the possible_passwords.txt file as it's possible that some older wallets were encoded slightly differently and will appear there rather than be correctly "found". (Though I think that this is far less likely since improving how this is handled earlier this year)

If you got to that message then at least you probably have everything set up correctly. Password exhausted means that it has checked all possible combinations based on what is in your tokenlist or password list, so you will need to modify your tokenlist and try again.

Where are you getting stuck? I haven't actually done an updated video that covers how to install it on Python3, but the documentation on GitHub should cover it.
I actually have working code for BTCRecover now, but haven't published it yet. You can follow the issue here: github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover/issues/26 It's not as fast as flayer. (Native C vs Python) but it's certainly fast enough for legitimate recovery purposes. (As opposed to simply trying to mine brainwallets)
Depending on how you set your account up, might not need to do email verification. Does it download a wallet.aes.json file for your account? Also password search exhausted means that the password can't be constructed from the tokenlist or password list you have supplied. Have you reproduced the example in the video before trying it on your live wallet file?
If you have downloaded the wallet.aes.json then you don't need to worry about email verification or anything like that. If you are getting password search exhausted then that simply means it has tested everything in your passwordlist or tokenlist and none of the combinations are the correct one. There is currently an open issue on Github for passwords containing the @ symbol, so that may also be related.

Did you record your 12 word recovery phrase as part of the wallet setup? BTCRecover can use be used to attempt to recover the wallet main password. (Though requires that you have at least some idea what it might have been)

So did you do these purchases on the blockchain.com platform? Did they send you any kind of information about where they would deposit the Bitcoin? If you can access the wallet and everything as per normal, your best bet is probably to contact their support desk... Just make sure you don't go giving out your seed phrase, wallet pin, or any of that to anyone, including those who claim to be support... (They don't need these and will never ask for it)
Crypto Guide I can access the wallet and everything normal.....the only issue is that it’s shows that there is a trade wallet and normal bitcoin wallet on blockchain and the money on the trade wallet is kind of locked.....I’ve contacted blockchain support but it might take a while

What email client are you using to approve the 2fa? Some email clients and antivirus mess with the approval link they email you, so you might need to manually copy/parte the approval link in to your browser
If you actually disabled 2fa it should just download the file. Do you already have the wallet 1st password as to be able to enable/disable 2fa or are you just going from memory?
@@CryptoGuide what happened was i was switching up phones, so i had to disable 2FA. immediately after disabling the 2FA I couldn't login into my wallet using the same password. and thats the password i use everywhere.

Do you mean that you are trying to use the extract script and approve the login so that you can download the wallet file, or do you know your password and are just having trouble logging in normally via your browser?

My password starts with an @ symbol. I know the correct password to one of my blockchain wallets (it's newly created). Each time I try password recover with this password it says 'password search exhausted' even though my password is in the list I generated with the --listpass option. Whenever I try it with a text password (containing no @ symbol) for another account, it works perfectly fine. The problem I have is that the password to the account I am really looking to find its password starts with an @symbol. Can you help me? I'm pretty sure I'm building the token list correctly.

If you have your recovery seed from safepal, but have a typo in it then sure, BTCRecover will work fine. In terms of forgetting your wallet password, safepal is closed source, so can't really be supported by tools like this...

You probably have an error in your seed backup, probably only one of two words wrong. Give BTCrecover a go github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover but for seed recovery, it will likely sort it out in a few minutes.

Your best bet is to reproduce the existing examples and then modify from there. Worse case scenario you can literally replace the contents of the file from the example with yours...

Python was not found; run without arguments to install from the Microsoft Store, or disable this shortcut from Settings > Manage App Execution Aliases. I get this error when trying to run the first script in command prompt and I have python downloaded to my git hub folder. any clues as to where i'm going wrong here?. I downloaded python 3.9 the newest version.
Depending on how you installed things you will need to use either the python, or python3 command. It also won't work if you didn't select to add pthon3 to path. Did you follow my recent video that steps through installing BTCRecover?

You can put the tokenlist wherever you like, you just need to tell BTCRecover where to find it by using the --tokenlist argument. (The example ones are all in the ./btcrecover/test/test-listfiles/ folder in the repository)

@@CryptoGuide sorry i thought that maybe a lot of "newbies" have this problem. so when i start the 7z file via btcrecover it tells me Warning: ignoring line 1: Error: line contains an invalid UTF-8 byte sequence not only at line 1 but till line 103. then it goes through 2.3mil pw and then i get the message: Warning: 143489334 additional warnings were suppressed. I just dont even get how to read the weakpass file by myself. Thanks in advance!
@@CryptoGuide how would you try the weakpass file with btc recover? Im just stuck a little bit. Because when i try even to open the file with a notepad++ it says that the file is to big. Its unpacked over 100 gig and there is no ending of the file like .txt
You need to use it a plain text file. You will need to learn how to work with large files, so using tools other than notepad. (This is much easier in Linux as you can use things like head and tail to see part of the file)

If it's just a case of not being able to use window command line to change directory, just watch a few RUclips tutorials on Windows command prompt and that will set you straight.

If all you know is your wallet ID then the only option is to use something like BTCRecover to recover your password.

If you use other versions of BTCRecover other than the one on my Github (github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover) they likely won't work at all.

You can add some wildcards, but you can't add many otherwise it will take too long to run. (Pure brute-force is a waste of time)

You could have a tokenlist that had those three elements, as well as teh characters that are between them _ and . and it would find it.

You will need to create your own tokenlist file. Docco for that is here btcrecover.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tokenlist_file/
The 4 threads vs 12 is simply due to the number of cpu cores your system has.

Hi - I'm try to access my Blockchain from 2015 and have a decent idea of the password as I use 'LEET' type passwords and remember the core part but each possibility has 10's if not 100's of millions of possibilities using the typos map approach. I've tried what I think are the most likely but have only come up with password list exhausted. To check that I've set things us correctly I've created a new Blockchain wallet and can crack that using the same approach. I'm working through all possibilities that I can think of (think I need to buy a GPU!) but just wanted to ask if you know of any logical reason of why it may not work for an old wallet if it does for the new? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer!
You can also securely do blockchain.com wallets in vast.ai with a wallet extract if you don't want to pay for a GPU.
Either way, there is no reason why it won't work for older wallets. Just keep an eye on the possible_passwords.txt file as it's possible that some older wallets were encoded slightly differently and will appear there rather than be correctly "found". (Though I think that this is far less likely since improving how this is handled earlier this year)

If you got to that message then at least you probably have everything set up correctly. Password exhausted means that it has checked all possible combinations based on what is in your tokenlist or password list, so you will need to modify your tokenlist and try again.

It's not as fast as flayer. (Native C vs Python) but it's certainly fast enough for legitimate recovery purposes. (As opposed to simply trying to mine brainwallets)

Depending on how you set your account up, might not need to do email verification. Does it download a wallet.aes.json file for your account? Also password search exhausted means that the password can't be constructed from the tokenlist or password list you have supplied. Have you reproduced the example in the video before trying it on your live wallet file?

If you have downloaded the wallet.aes.json then you don't need to worry about email verification or anything like that. If you are getting password search exhausted then that simply means it has tested everything in your passwordlist or tokenlist and none of the combinations are the correct one. There is currently an open issue on Github for passwords containing the @ symbol, so that may also be related.

The tokenlist can be wherever you like, you just need up include the path to it in the --tokenlist argument

Did you record your 12 word recovery phrase as part of the wallet setup? BTCRecover can use be used to attempt to recover the wallet main password. (Though requires that you have at least some idea what it might have been)

So did you do these purchases on the blockchain.com platform? Did they send you any kind of information about where they would deposit the Bitcoin?
If you can access the wallet and everything as per normal, your best bet is probably to contact their support desk... Just make sure you don't go giving out your seed phrase, wallet pin, or any of that to anyone, including those who claim to be support... (They don't need these and will never ask for it)
Crypto Guide I can access the wallet and everything normal.....the only issue is that it’s shows that there is a trade wallet and normal bitcoin wallet on blockchain and the money on the trade wallet is kind of locked.....I’ve contacted blockchain support but it might take a while

What email client are you using to approve the 2fa? Some email clients and antivirus mess with the approval link they email you, so you might need to manually copy/parte the approval link in to your browser

If you actually disabled 2fa it should just download the file. Do you already have the wallet 1st password as to be able to enable/disable 2fa or are you just going from memory?
@@CryptoGuide what happened was i was switching up phones, so i had to disable 2FA. immediately after disabling the 2FA I couldn't login into my wallet using the same password. and thats the password i use everywhere.
So what happens if you try to just log in with a browser, does it do the 2fa and bring you to the password entry screen or just go straight to the password entry?

You need to follow the installation guide and install all the required python modules via pip3 install -r requirements.txt

My password starts with an @ symbol. I know the correct password to one of my blockchain wallets (it's newly created). Each time I try password recover with this password it says 'password search exhausted' even though my password is in the list I generated with the --listpass option. Whenever I try it with a text password (containing no @ symbol) for another account, it works perfectly fine. The problem I have is that the password to the account I am really looking to find its password starts with an @symbol. Can you help me? I'm pretty sure I'm building the token list correctly.

If you have your recovery seed from safepal, but have a typo in it then sure, BTCRecover will work fine. In terms of forgetting your wallet password, safepal is closed source, so can't really be supported by tools like this...

If you have a 12 word seed you can just put us straight in to Electrum.
@@CryptoGuide i have a 17 word seed phrase. The key itself is also 17 characters with two commas and a space in it..... So, not sure how to verify it offline and not get scammed.
If it's an old blockchain.info 17 word seed then you should try their recovery tool here: login.blockchain.com/wallet/forgot-password

Sounds like the correct password can't be created from the tokenlist. You might need to broaden your search.

Wallet ID is only relevant to blockchain.com wallets. It is given to your when you first set the account up.

Your best bet is to reproduce the existing examples and then modify from there. Worse case scenario you can literally replace the contents of the file from the example with yours...

If you didn't set up 2fa just follow the guide. Once you enter your wallet ID, it will download the wallet file straight away.

The 17 word phrase should work in their recovery tool, but isn't BIP 39 so can't really be used elsewhere. Best bet is to contact their support first.

You are really confusing us, how did you get the command prompt documets/github/btcrecover..... its not in the of how to install btcrecovery
Just using the standard Windows command prompt commands. Your best bet it to look at my video that runs through installing BTCRecover in Windows

Python was not found; run without arguments to install from the Microsoft Store, or disable this shortcut from Settings > Manage App Execution Aliases. I get this error when trying to run the first script in command prompt and I have python downloaded to my git hub folder. any clues as to where i'm going wrong here?. I downloaded python 3.9 the newest version.
Depending on how you installed things you will need to use either the python, or python3 command. It also won't work if you didn't select to add pthon3 to path. Did you follow my recent video that steps through installing BTCRecover?

You can put the tokenlist wherever you like, you just need to tell BTCRecover where to find it by using the --tokenlist argument. (The example ones are all in the ./btcrecover/test/test-listfiles/ folder in the repository)

Unless you already have a backup of your wallet file somewhere, or you backed up your seed phrase, no, you will need to get your 2fa fixed first.

not only at line 1 but till line 103.
then it goes through 2.3mil pw and then i get the message: Warning: 143489334 additional warnings were suppressed.

Well yea if you read the documentation you will see that password lists need to be plain text, one password per line...
@@CryptoGuide how would you try the weakpass file with btc recover? Im just stuck a little bit. Because when i try even to open the file with a notepad++ it says that the file is to big. Its unpacked over 100 gig and there is no ending of the file like .txt
You need to use it a plain text file. You will need to learn how to work with large files, so using tools other than notepad. (This is much easier in Linux as you can use things like head and tail to see part of the file)

@@CryptoGuide the process is a bit timeous specially the btcrecovery set up. I struggle to understand that process. My challenge is that I know my Wallet ID and password is 100% correct coz I have it documented in a safe place.
If your wallet ID and password are actually correct then you can just log in on the blockchain website and won't have a problem...

The error means what it says, you aren't adding the main password correctly.

@@CryptoGuide as copay merged into bitpay, bitpay no longer supports copay wallets. They dont accept id passwords. Just they ask enter seed or password phrase to login to your wallet. Which i dont have
Sounds like you are using a scam app... If you open the Bitpay app you can log in with a Bitpay ID, have you tried using your copay credentials there?

You will need to either find the 12 words or regain access to the blockchain.com wallet via the password. (This video can help with recovery of the password)

Hi where must I save my token list file?
and do I need to edit the command so it ends with the exact name of my saved token list?
e.g. if i save it as mytokenlist.txt
then the command must be as follows??

You can put your tokenlist wherever you like, as long as you specify the path to it in the argument that you pass to BTCRecover.
Your tokenfile can be anywhere, the path to it is specified with the --tokenlist argument. (As you have pasted above)
Can't decrypt the wallet (wrong main password?) i remember my first password but i cant remember the second , i was able to download the file but i got this "Can't decrypt the wallet (wrong main password?)"
Have you actually verified that your main password works?
If so it would be good if you could create an issue in GitHub, create a wallet extract and post it there. (Just so I can try to reproduce it without you needing to share you whole wallet)
