Hi, A point of information. Android is a linux variant. Akin to Debian, Redhat, and Suse. Also, IIRC, while complex to set up, OpenBSD is, out of the gate, the most secure openly available OS out there.
"Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say" -Edward Snowden
The problem with the idea of privacy is that it's a myth. If some member of the public is determined to invade our privacy, they will succeed eventually. Look at the Great Wall of China. Eventually, it was breached. No matter how many barriers we put in place, eventually they will be breached. So then the solution is to encourage relationships with all classes, all genders, all political parties. I don't believe we never had anything to say. We were physically beaten for telling the truth. Then we quit caring about freedom of speech because nobody enforced the law and protected us for blowing the whistle. Honest people really do not have anything to hide. It's not that we don't care about privacy. First, we knew we never had any privacy begin with. We heard you spying on us. Second, we honest folk never were coniving enough to believe our trusted family and friends would falsify evidence against us in the 'privacy' of our homes. So when the war came, and the chaos ensued, it became obvious to us whom our true friends were and whom were not trustworthy. Finally, after taking many math classes, it became obvious to me that if you can do the math, you can use math to figure out whom an anonymous person is.

Keep in mind: almost every single surveillance camera you can buy is a security nightmare. To start, just never use any "security" camera that defaults to uploading to the cloud, like Nest, Ring, Blink, Wyze or similar. These will keep your surveillance footage without your consent unencrypted indefinitely, and they almost always have absolutely terrible security against being hacked. So many insecurity cameras are used in botnets and found on websites that it is sickening. Cameras are some of the worst offenders in IoT insecurity. Cameras that use local storage or a local network NVR are better, but the security on NVRs is also terrible and I can't think of a manufacturer I actually trust so... either keep your surveillance on an air-gapped network or maybe just make your own with an RPi?
Would recommend running something like ZoneMinder, grabbing whatever POE camera that fits your specs, put it on its own VLAN that can't talk to anything nor the internet. Problem solved.
It’s hard if you live in a poor area. It’s so easy to get burgled without surveillance. We have local storage, but it can get filled up rather quickly and has to be deleted, which sucks, but it’s better than cloud at least.

Thanks for your hard work and commitment to privacy! I was wondering if you could do a video discussing VOIP's further and if their worth using instead of a regular phone.
I'm a strong advocate for both privacy and free speech but they seem to compromise one another...to speak one's mind is relinquishing a private aspect of oneself, vice versa, to stay private why direct attention to oneself by giving one's opinion.

Zone 1 alone will take me months. I have 2,460 accounts in my Bitwarden vault and I definitely don't use them all. My job often requires me to sign up for websites to test whether a coupon code is valid so I have hundreds of abandoned accounts. I always put a fake phone number and an old address but I never really considered using completely fake data. Ugh.
lesspass is the best password manager, because it doesn't STORE a single password... you just say master password, username, and an identifier for the site or account (they ask for url, but you can put anything there, url is just simple to remember) plus you can choose if you want cli, browser extention, app, etc (tho extention doesn't autofill, but that can be seen as a plus), it's open source, and whatnot
I'm late :p, not the best for everyone. For me (keepass), having a list of websites is very nice, I can also attach notes which has saved me many headaches.
This sounds like a fun project. Would be nice to not feel like you're a branded slave of the internet. Only thing, is it worth it if you are already using social media for your business? Won't you lose clients and website domains? Or is there a way around that?
Easy now people! 😮 How many people reside on the planet who own a phone/device that requires all these settings? Really I think that the people who sell these devices should be more educated (not saying that in a mean way) and that they should be able to answer any and all questions and learn how to be explanatory. This would in turn, do a lot of good for the whole internet traffic world. I got to tell you just being my age and having to learn all of this, let alone remember it, can be extremely frustrating, as well as confusing! Can't AI fix the privacy/security settings? Or it would be really cool to have an AI app that follows you adjust your site settings (for you) as well. I like your video is very explanatory and makes a lot of sense. Definitely one to take notes when you're watching! 15:53
If you think privacy and security doesn’t matter, or is impossible, then consider how the FBI, CIA, or any government agency is able to exist with privacy and security. They believe it’s just a right for them, but you need to believe that it’s also a right for you.
I think deleting facebook should be in zone 1. Facebook is evil 😈. But maybe it's easy for me to say, if you never started with something than you never need to stop. I also never started smoking and I can advise it to everyone. 😁
I've watched a ton of your videos but never seen you discuss the issue with VeraCrypt and SSD drives. I would love to do a full disk encryption, but have heard issues with it. One is the security thing with writing to different areas, which didn't seem to be a real issue if encrypted anyway, but the horror stories of using VeraCrypt to encrypt a drive and then having the read/write speed drop to total crap. Would love to hear your opinion on full disk encryption for SSDs and suggestions.
I spent two weeks degoogling my Android phone and installed F-Droid apps. OMG..nightmare! Then I ran into "The Car" problem..My LincolnMKZ Hybrid has a tracking device and both my iPhone and Android devices both sync with the car...navigation system, what if I brake down. Honestly, what does one do. My head is spinning 😫
I wish you would have produced this video BEFORE consuming the third cup of coffee - HA ! - For that 30 min. video - I equal that amount (30 stop and go back) re-playing sometimes twice - then My fingers got tired hitting the spacebar key so as to use the Print Screen Button. You suggest one product or procedure and then find fault with different aspects of it . . . (Not getting personal. Now you know . . .) Don't get me wrong about the VERY informative and GREAT advice you offer - I just don't blink, sneeze, cough or look down at My notes . . . a printed list of what to do first, second, third, etc. would be really great - do you have PRINTED EXCERPTS that one can look at, review at their own pace, or - 'Leisure' (which I'm sure you don't have that word in your vocabulary) - second HA ! - This is just one of dozens of videos that you offer - what if a person is salaried and not paid by the hour - (third and final - HA !)
I'd appreciate your opinion as I'm stuck on making a tough decision. I'm looking for an optimal web browser set up for maximum online privacy. I'm debating which of these 3 options is best. The first option is using 4 different web browsers, 1 for each (email, banking, shopping and general web browsing). Option 2 is using Firefox exclusively and having 4 different user profiles set up. Option 3 is to use just 1 Firefox user profile and create "containers". I love firefox and really prefer option 3 best then option 2 because it would be great using 1 browser. However, I'm thinking it will not offer the most security against fingerprinting and tracking. I'm new to all this and would greatly appreciate your suggestions!
thanks so much for this video. while i can't delete social media (at least right now) it's definitely helpful and now i have to figure out which browser to use that isn't chrome lol...

Can you please do a video on how parents can prepare for young children starting to use the internet. Where to start to protect their online futures..
Thank you, this is an absolutely amazing guide!
So I need like a month off work to get all my stuff deleted. Someone needs to offer this as a service, I would probably pay someone to do this for me.
Ahh yes, bro u have an awesome business idea with you broo, any entrepreneurs here use thisssss
And give them access to each of your accounts? Not so private
@@matthieubatard4641 neither is leaving all your info up all over the internet.
@@DailyMynt right, but I'd prefer deleting them myself
@@matthieubatard4641 ok haha
Just explain dude straight to the point
Hi!
I am eagerly waiting for your MacOS privacy guide.
I very much appreciate the upfront honesty on kickback links. Kudos
the video is very good, I am starting to study security, privacy and anonymity.
Awesome video !! :D
Thank you so much to fight for all of us for privacy !!
"Saying that you don't care about privacy because you have nothing to hide is like saying you don't care about freedom of speech because you have nothing to say." /Edward Snowden/
why was this a literal cinematic experience
😷👍🏻 Deep scrub in da tub. Gotta love Henry.
It's also good to use PGP or S/MIME for mailing. Disable opportunistic encryption when connectiog through email client to avoid MITM attacks etc.
Social media: Don't talk to strangers
Realy depends on what you consider social media

Thank you for this valuable content.
Outstanding video for novices!
Awesome info...Thanks techlore :-)
Zone 1 alone will take me months. I have 2,460 accounts in my Bitwarden vault and I definitely don't use them all. My job often requires me to sign up for websites to test whether a coupon code is valid so I have hundreds of abandoned accounts. I always put a fake phone number and an old address but I never really considered using completely fake data. Ugh.
lesspass is the best password manager, because it doesn't STORE a single password...
you just say master password, username, and an identifier for the site or account (they ask for url, but you can put anything there, url is just simple to remember)
plus you can choose if you want cli, browser extention, app, etc (tho extention doesn't autofill, but that can be seen as a plus), it's open source, and whatnot
I'm late :p, not the best for everyone. For me (keepass), having a list of websites is very nice, I can also attach notes which has saved me many headaches.
Thank you - subscribed!
its going to take me a phat minuet but stage 4 here i come!!!!!
Nice video! I'd like to give it a like but I don't want to leave any footprint.
Thanks
All the stuff is beautiful
That jacket is the short answer to this whole video lol
I wish you would have produced this video BEFORE consuming the third cup of coffee - HA ! - For that 30 min. video - I equal that amount (30 stop and go back) re-playing sometimes twice - then My fingers got tired hitting the spacebar key so as to use the Print Screen Button. You suggest one product or procedure and then find fault with different aspects of it . . . (Not getting personal. Now you know . . .)
Don't get me wrong about the VERY informative and GREAT advice you offer - I just don't blink, sneeze, cough or look down at My notes . . .
a printed list of what to do first, second, third, etc. would be really great -
do you have PRINTED EXCERPTS that one can look at, review at their own pace, or -
'Leisure' (which I'm sure you don't have that word in your vocabulary) - second HA ! -
This is just one of dozens of videos that you offer - what if a person is salaried and not paid by the hour - (third and final - HA !)
Very good video.
I'm new to all this and would greatly appreciate your suggestions!
hello! may I know what option did you finally choose? please
Nice! Thanks 👍
Because of the thumbnail and title I thought you guys were gonna talk about the hackers.
thanks so much for this video. while i can't delete social media (at least right now) it's definitely helpful and now i have to figure out which browser to use that isn't chrome lol...
brave browser

Hey Techlore, Why do you recommend Bitwarden as your password manager other than Dashlane or Lastpass?
100%. I would never recommend a closed source cloudbased password manager when Bitwarden exists.
Edit: misread the “why”. Our Go Incognito lesson covering password elaborates on this: ruclips.net/video/jZr4u5nEZP4/видео.html
Thanks for the overview!

Cape Coral Florida here how do you suggest we keep the community policing groups from illegal surveillance inside our homes?
Helpful for women particularly🙏
Ty for your advocacy

Outstanding video!
Awesome Vid man
Great video! ♥
Everyone watching Henry's vids already does all or most of this. The rest are like clubbing harbor seals over the head repeatedly until they succumb for being so... preoccupied with trying to survive? Dang. Thank you, Henry. Even Hillary admires Bleachbit.
thank you guys you are awsome!!!
2:09 "The passwords on your device are important as well" is this referring to, for example, a laptop login?
Great work, but with Prism isn’t the majority of this useless?
I've long given up on advocacy. Most people are either dense, ignorant or stubborn. Getting anyone above the age of thirty to change is a thankless task and essentially futile.
