I've had this projector since November. Both myself and my son absolutely love it. I have it projecting onto a 135" Silver Screen and it looks fantastic. Using the built in apps along with an NVIDIA shield for Netflix. Have connected a PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch to it as well with great performance. Image is pin sharp everytime and the AI features are better than ones found on projectors costing 3x as much or more. Using ARC connection to a 7.2 setup and works great (upgrading my receiver to a 7.4.2 atmos setup soon). As he mentions in the video...this is an excellent all around entertainment device as we play games, watch movies, and watch TV on it. Great choice if you enjoy having parties for sporting events, movies, or have a ton of kids over to play games. One of the best purchases I've ever made IMO.

Its advertised as projects up to 300”. How big is your screen? Have you tried to go big? 200” +
@StHella-xf3yr no I tested on a 100 and 120. It’s since been returned a long time ago but from memory was a great unit.

Great video Tony! Could you make a review video of the Dangbei Mars Pro 4K Projector? There is not much information about this product on the internet, but the specs look decent.
I'm waiting for the Cosmos 4K Laser to come in for review shortly - I don't know about the Mars Pro - i'll have to look it up!
Great review. I have the same projector. Loving it so far although shopping for a ALR screen as the white standard projector screen doesn’t provide good blacks and bounces so much light back into the room. What screen are you using? I’m thinking of the Vividstorm Obsidian with 0.8 gain. Open to suggestions though. Thanks

Thanks for the review. But to be clear, its a native 0.47-inch DLP chip with XPR fast pixel-switching, so not native 4K, but still capable of pixel shifting its way to 4K.
Also, real world testing shows its peak is closer to 1500 lumens, With accurate color calibration, it was closer to 1100 lumens
I really hope Epson will make a 4k version of their portable laser projectors. I just love the 3LCD technology, DLP is just not as nice.
How does this stack up against benq x3000i for gaming and overall?
Different use case. The Benq was a beast at calibration and gaming. This one is excellent for multipurpose and portability.
Are the black levels better than the benq led gaming projector. Talking about the black floor level. Lowest light output in dark scenes
Does it stand chance to projectors like Benq tk 700 and tk850. Was really looking forward to it but not able to fully trust it. Looking forward to your response.
Definitely a contender. It’s very bright and nice picture, excellent features. Epson and Benq are great too. We are spoilt for choice at the moment.

The Benq is pretty great but thats a ust same as Vava - this ones a long throw projector so it works well for a mounted system.
You failed to mention that this projector does not have a bulb replacement and is a useless paperweight after the 1 year warranty expires. Official response from XGIMI when I asked about replacing my bulb. "Hey, this is Georgina from XGIMI tech support department, it will be a pleasure to assist you today regarding your concern. We do not sell nor suggest changing the bulb on a XGIMI projector. We can gladly check if your device is still within our 1-year warranty and provide a replacement if applicable."
Thanks for this review, while comparing Xjimi horizon pro 4k with Benq w1800i 4k- which one would perform better for a dedicated home theater room with no ambient lights ?
I haven't actually tested the 1800i so I couldn't tell you. I think ambient light is a killer for all projectors, but if you have the right screen and block the light from the sides and top you can get away with it.

The xgimi pro 4k has outputs for hdmi arc, digital out. But connecting to this port how to get full 5.1 since this projector is forward facing??

Any idea on how to hook up speakers/avr without having to run wires across your room?
The best way is to have a reciever and use a single HDMI cable that runs to it and the projector. Unless you have wireless speakers there is little way to avoid cables.
What's the maximum screen size (0.8 gain) would you recommend to get the best image without compromising on the quality and detail?
100"-110" would be a sweet spot.

Thanks for the review. Just wondering if you've had experience with the epson tw-7100. I'm tossing up between the epson and the xgimi. I will mainly be using the projector for movies. What are your thoughts?
I haven’t tested that Epson. I have a tw9000 that I love. For the price the xgimi is hard to look past.

So how does it automatically fit the image inside the screen? I think I want one....
The magic onboard, there are sensors and it has optical zoom and focus lenses. It then uses the qr code to detect alignment. It’s very cool!
You didn't mention the light bleeding using the auto keystone
I got this XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K last year, but the Bluetooth connection with my JBL speaker or sony headphone quality is not good, the sound has some funny noise. I can not find the solution.
Bluetooth isn't ideal for audio, it runs at much lower bandwidth. If you can connect a SPDIF or HDMI cable to it, that will help a lot. Does the speaker make that sound when you use your iPhone?

Tony, do you ever do verses requests of two projectors?
I haven't so far. I personally don't like to create brand rivalry by putting one off against another. I can answer direct questions. I haven't ruled it out but so far the opportunity hasn't presented itself.

I think you're correct on that. I would never use the zoom anyway as it adds a glow in place around the image.

X3000i vs Horizon Pro? Which one is better
They both have their purposes. X3000i for high frame rate gaming and the Xgimi is awesome for ease of setup. Both look great 👍🏻 it will come down to what purpose u want it for.

This vs the jmgo n1 ultra?
Both have their attributes - but I'd choose the N1 ultra personally due to the triple laser - but the Horizon Pro is an excellent choice also.
@@BuildMontage horizon just lowered their price and is available on Amazon….but I hear the arc doesn’t work correctly and 2.1 hdmi on ultra might be better for gaming
