My son and I live in Nor Cal and recently got into coasters. Joker at Discovery Kingdom hooked us, however, after riding Gold Striker, Rail Blazer and Flight Deck, Great America has been our go to. They've been closing flight deck on weekdays. We are usually able to re-ride marathon it on the weekends so my guess is that it doesn't run enough weekdays to keep ops on.
I had the EXACT same reaction to gold striker when I first rode it in august, only GCI even close to it IMO is mystic timbers. Also the only ride I’ve experienced where I actually liked the roughness, since it made the ride feel longer and wilder without being painful
was great meeting you and glad you liked our park! sucks FD was closed but at least its for a good reason, its easily 3rd best in the park and while short its such a great invert and rides the same today as it did when it first opened almost 30 years ago!
I’m definitely taking CGA for granite, I go every couple of days and I love seeing peoples reaction. I ride Railblazer literally all the time I haven’t ridden it over a month because of the off season so I can’t wait to get back, also for gold strikers retrack. 😁
Marc, why did you delete the comment saying that filming on rides aren’t safe and they make it difficult for ride ops? Deleting my comment will prove my point that you know the risks of doing it, and you just don’t care.
I don’t delete any comments unless they’re hate comments. RUclips takes random comments down sometimes, so it must’ve been that. as for filming onride, I use high end equipment that’s always secure. a lot of parks that have rules implemented against filming don’t make it clear and/or dont care to enforce it. If a ride operator tells me not to record, I always take their word for it but that’s very rare. I never cause any threat amongst riders by whipping out a phone or doing something stupid.
I got yelled at by operator for taking out my phone on ascent of railblazer, they stopped the ride and I sheepishly put it back in my pocket. 😂😂. My first time on it. What’s good equipment to take if you want to film safely and securely?
I've only been to Great America once, back when it was Paramount's Great America, and I remember the Top Gun ride being really fun. The weird thing is that there was NOBODY in the park. It was a day in the middle of summer, and my friend and I didn't wait in line at all. Every ride was just walk-on.
I’m going to great America soon! This video really excited me I really hope all the rides are open when I visit. I wanted to ask what time were the park open for you? When I checked the website the times were 4pm-10pm and I was hoping for more time lol
I am in agree since gale force is my number 2 right behind jersey devil. (El Toro and king da ka were closed and skyrush was open ( I was still GP) so yeah).
When i was in middle school my summer day Camp had an optional week long road trip up to norcal then down i went in and ine of the days we went to Great America when it was a Paramount park. I remember there was a Top Gun ride that was so cheesy the ride operators were in jump suits and aviator glasses and when you left the station on the ride they posed with the military salute. I think its name changed to possibly Top Flight?
okay cuz like im sorry but thats the first time i have seen the grizzly empty, and i live in san jose and go there a couple times a week during the summer and on holidays and sometimes on the weekend whenever its open.. and also 100% recommend the water slides there especially the newest you will love them
I just hit CGA this weekend and patriot was absolutely boring. I got on not realizing it was so small. some how does nothing while still beating you around like it's a hang and bang.
@@CoasterDash when you get to Six Flags Great America, go for night rides on X-Flight and Viper. Also if some things look similar to CGA it's because they originally had the same owner Marriott.
I don’t think i’ll be back at Valleyfair for a while, but I also have to say that Goldstriker isn’t really comparable to Renegade. the fact that matters is I eventually ranked Goldstriker over Ghostrider and Ghostrider is virtually undefeated in terms of GCI’s in America.
@R S I disagree. Top Gun aka Flight Deck is super forceful and you feel like you're going faster than what you really are. The only knock on it is that it is a short ride but it's still intense with good theming and a nice color scheme. And the finale with the helix over the water is awesome.
I'm so sorry about Flight Deck being closed. I operate that ride and I'm pretty sure it was getting repainted, and still is for the rest of November. I'm just as disappointed as you
@@NorCalCoasterMedia Me too. The layout is the same but RailBlazer is better in the following - 1. Better name 2. Better trains 3. Better color scheme 4. Theming is debatable Plus the queue is right under the coaster so you have amazing views because you're so close to it.
Glad to see someone giving Demon some love! Former Demon operator speaking, and I'm surprised they overhauled everything after I moved.
Loved Demon!
Man, those RMC raptors look out of this world ridiculous, the look on your face while riding says it all. Great video man!
The guy in the vlog with the Legoland hat gets my respect.
@StapledMedia mad respect, man.
My home park! Gold Striker is my fav coaster ever, but I'm nostalgic for pretty much everything here

This is my home park and I feel honored that you were here! Btw flight deck is closed cause the chain broke and I was on it when it happened!
No, it's because they are repainting it
Great video and great Vlog! Railblazer looks like a lot of fun! Makes me want to watch some of your POV's of some of these coasters sometime!
Thank you! Railblazer was the star of the show at this park, with Goldstriker closely following behind

Awesome vlog CGA looks underrated and Demon does look cool especially those tunnels you right
CGA was very good, definitely an underhyped park
The demon is an awesome ride, one of my favorites
I grew up there and it’s has really chill vibes with some really solid rides

That thing sh*ts on Apocalypse!! I cracked up so hard when he said that....
So you rode most roller coasters on the Jersey Boardwalk before two RMCs in your home state?!?!
You got that right 😅
Wooo congrats on 500th video!!
Dude, I went on goldstriker at night and you couldn’t even see where you were going. I prolly got like 5 concussions lol
I’m addicted to your intro song
I am in agree since gale force is my number 2 right behind jersey devil. (El Toro and king da ka were closed and skyrush was open ( I was still GP) so yeah).
Going in three or two days I forgot which one BUT IM SO EXCITEDDDD
You got to go on flight deck. That ride is fun! Great america is my home park I used to go on it at 5 times each trip I made.

No flight deck was closed, it’s the best ride
How do you film on the coasters?
I live close to Great America, and I am 11 and rode some scary rides!
bro raptor clones always make people hair fly
You have angered me with your mean words about Tidal Twister.
I like the ride bruh. The hangtime bruh
The demon at the other great america is pretty good too!
omg i remember max from when i went to cga, he was amazing
did you get the middle seat? (on the plane?)
towards the back
This park looks a little cool but is very underrated even as a cedar fair park but is the first cedar fair park to get a single rail
If you have the Demon credit for Six Flags Great America you have it for CGA. It’s the exact same coaster.
I haven’t been to SFGAm yet, but fortunately Demon at CGA opened that night as you can see in the vlog
@@CoasterDash when you get to Six Flags Great America, go for night rides on X-Flight and Viper.

I only got one morning ride on Goldstriker and it had no airtime

Great America is my home park I was there that evening. Also you didn’t miss out on that much with Flight Deck since it’s one of the weaker inverts.
Hey nice! Did you see us at all? we were a big group of enthusiasts
It’s an old school invert, how can you say it’s weak, that things short but intense.
@@zacharyyamashita8554 soo intense. the only complaint i ever hear is its short which is valid but its non stop intense start to finish.

The Demon was my first roller coaster ever.
Awesome!
Make sure that when you come back to northern CA you hit up six flags discovery kingdom in Vallejo Ca
I did! Check out the vlog.
@@CoasterDash ok!! I will! We actually went to great America yesterday and rode the rail blazer and gold striker 6 times! Lol..
Its Moose from Step Up.
My highlight of the trip is Woodstock express.
Flight Deck at CGA is getting repainted that is why it was closed during your visit
Wait repainted again? Arent they just finishing painting it red after it was black?

Crabbie cabbies made up for flight deck?

nice video! come to universal studios Singapore when you’re free and let us know your opinion on the Battlestar Galactica: Human and Cylon!!!
Where would this park go in your park rankings?
I operate the cork screw from knotted berry farm at silverwood
In idaho they bought it from them in 1990
I love Gilroy Gardens
man ive never got any airtime on delta airlines
It was Alaska, but I agree that the turbulence isn’t strong enough to offer ejector, only mild floater 😂
I wanna know what day you went to GA Bc it is never that lonely.
The date is in the title. we were there on a Friday
Next year you better go to six flags great America
hopefully Kings Island too
Both are on the list.
@@CoasterDash Thanks!
Can you please do a vid on the possible new giga coming to knotts
There’s not enough information to make a video on it. If we hear more, i’ll be sure to make one.
Ok thanks for info
CGA can get rid of Patriot and Grizzly if they don’t RMC it which I don’t think they will unfortunately and Id be perfectly fine
eyyy i met you there. lrotnorb was graet
