I'm sure the parts would break down for washing and you could always have UV lights in the food truck especially if no one is inside. I don't think sterilization is an issue especially when compared to having human cooks.
The idea that your somehow getting better or worse food, the Olive Garden and corporate kitchens like that, are boiling premade bags and microwaving things. This is better than 80% of “fast casual”
Then, talking about comparing this to a chef, instead of a teenager or a young person who doesn’t give a shit and he’s literally just acting like a robot. All we’ve done is make it official, your food was made by a robot.
WONDERFUL, but it will also replace many workers and put them out of their jobs. This is the unemployment no one talks about. While we can certainly see the advantages, it will still leave many unemployed. I don't like that we're taking the human energy and touch out of one of the most human & personal rituals, food preparation.
nobody force you to use robot to cook. if you want cook, then do it. idiots like you act as if jobs are some sacred thing. most people dont want to work. robots doing most of the work will mean easy life for people.
Well, automation has been replacing jobs ever since the seed drill 6,000 years ago but the rate of automation has been accelerating and although the US population has doubled since 1974, the number of non-precarious jobs have not, also the peak of hourly wage to cost of living ratio was in 1974 and has been declining ever since so employment reduction from automation is an issue. However, what is wage for work for but the distribution of resources to those without the property and capital and a base level of distribution could be achieved with Universal Basic Income. We're unlikely to get UBI right for quite some time but it could keep our consumer based economy going, unfortunately, we've just missed a golden and rare opportunity for an UBI pilot program with the COVID measures of the past two to three years.
No thanks, imagine how many people will lose their jobs because of this! A robot doesn't have the flair a human chef has...what a waste of money, money that could be put to good use in employing people!
I so agree. Food preparation is a very personal thing. Sadly, many restaurants, especially the big chains, will probably not see it this way, as they look at the bottom line, which is, of course, profits. Also, the price of it will come down, as always happens with new tech.
I like it. Robots are made to do repetitive tasks people don’t want to do. It will also be way more consistent than a human. People can use the free time to flex their creative and innovative new dishes. Chefs will still be designing the meals, so you don’t have to worry about flair. The robotics industry also creates less physically intensive and better paying jobs. People don’t like these jobs anyway. Why do you think there’s a labor shortage in the food industry?
@@LadyMaven if its so personal, fast food would not be so succesful. most people, on most days, dont give a damn about muuuuuuuuuuuuuh "personal touch" or whatever. they just want tasty food.
I'm just curious how they will keep all the pipes and containers and "fingers" clean and bacteria free ,on eg a food truck.

I'll have a robotic cook's hand touch my food over a human's hand (and all the places it may go during the day) at almost any time.
Dose he wash dishes
